VS 2008 : Enter Character In A Field And In Parameter?

I'm connection to a sql server 2005 database. I have a field called MapName which contains the following name for example:
SAMWON TEXTILE CO LTD
NO NOT USE
Notice the field contains an enter character.Now in my vb code I have the following
Dim SupplierCommand As New SqlCommand("SELECT OurID FROM [Mapping] WHERE (MapName=@SupplierName) AND (OrgId=" & CustomerId & ") AND (Active=1);", con)
SupplierCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue("@SupplierName", f_supplier)
'con.Open()
[code]....
where the @SupplierName parameter would be:
SAMWON TEXTILE CO LTD
NO NOT USE
exactly the same as my database field.But for some reason this query fails because of the enter characters.

My client wants that my table be filtered based on the values from a field regardless of its order.
Example: I want to search for a student whose surname is 'Thomas' but the keyword is not the first in the field. The 'Surname' field, instead, contains the value "Ian Thomas".
If I am going to use this code;
bindingsource.filter = "surname Like '" & textbox1.text & "'"
It will base the searching on the first characters of the field only.

I understand that within a rich field text box you can search for a string and then format that string, but I am looking to change the formating of a certain position in a string regardless of what character is at that position.Can this be done in VB 2008?

Is it possible to add a tab character into a textblock? It's a textblock in Xaml, but i'm adding the text in code, so it has to be done there. Is there any action like "Environment.NewLine", but for the "Tab" character?

We have a multi-line control that we are attempting to prevent the Enter/Return key from being used to create a new line.Strangely enough, "AcceptsReturn" as False does not prevent this.So we added the following:

This works fine, however one of the QA people discovered hitting Control + Enter still puts in a newline.How would we prevent this?And why does AcceptsReturn being False not work as it appears it should? What is the intended purpose of it?

I am working with Vb.net 2005. I have used Crystal reports in some forms. The Crystal Report on the other hand use parameter field, therefore when you run the application an "enter parameter dialogue box" is loaded.

I would like to make an application whereby the user can select a color, enter a character into a textbox, select another color, enter another character and so on and so on...This multi colored text that has been entered into the textbox by the user must then be shown on a label. I cant get the damn characters in the label different colors They are all for example, either red or all blue.

I am making a small and very simple game that is ment to help children learn to recognise letters. I have come to a stop as I have 3 text fields. When something is entered into the first field, the program will set focus to the next text field. The problem is when the child tries to delete a character from a previous field as the focus is already set to the next text field. I want it to delete the character from the previous field when the backspace bar is hit. Any suggestion how this might be done?

The problem I have is: With the registry keys, how do I enter the value field with a wildcard for the location to the new installation. I have problem here when executing when saving data/ inserting data to db using stored procedure.[code]Waitress_ID is an autonumber field (identity set to yes). the error i get is this : Procedure or function 'WaitressDataSave_SP' expects parameter '@Waitress_ID', which was not supplied (code execution stop at the line ..da.Fill(dt) )as per i know that i don't need to include waitress_ID in my insert query because sql server automaticly assign autonumber.if i debug before the error line, i can see each variable has its content in param , except for the Waitress_ID.[code]fearness means 'looking for mistakes in the future', if only you could always remember that the future is uncertain then you would never try to predict what could be a mistake, and your fearness ends right away.

I have a stored procedure which updates a database using the parameters I supply but I'm having trouble passing a NULL to the stored procedure
The field I need to make NULL is a DateTime field

For each character of this string I want a new character out of the string and then remove the character from the list of characters that still maybe used for other characters. It may not get the same character, you could basically just call this encryption, but it's not what I am making. I don't want to waste my time doing this one hour while VB can do this for me in <1 second.

I have a search function in my app which is a groupbox with a textbox that contains the search keyword and a couple of radiobuttons. Do I have to create a keydown event for every single radiobutton and textbox? Or is there a better way? I tried making a keydown event for the groupbox but that didn't work.

I am working on a sub that essentially needs to open a text file, and replace all instances of a certain character with a unicode character. I'm trying to do this by reading the original text file byte by byte, converting it to a character, and then either adding that character to a memory stream or writing the unicode character to the memory stream. Then I'm saving the memory stream to the original file.

I am writing a hangman type game and I am displaying the word to the user in a label as all *'s, but I cannot figure out how to have just one of the *'s changed in the label to the correct letter when the user inputs the correct letter into the text box and clicks the check letter button.Everything else in the program works perfectly, except for this part.[code]When I use the .Replace it changes all of the *'s to the correct selected letter.
