Jun 12, 2012I'm creating a small application that will export the record from database to excel format (.xls) and import the record from excel as well. i have this code below i dont if this the right approach but im getting the error. Im using emulator btw. error :"The process can not access the file 'My Documents est1.xls' because it is being used by another process." Code: I'm still figuring out about import function any ideas?

Jan 17, 2012I have created an application that can store employees details, that part is not a problem and frankly is sorted, I have used a sql database to save my data, all information is displayed in TextBox controls on my main form.
The part I am struggling with is creating 2 buttons.
The first button I want to be able to import data from an excel file into my data set
The second button I want to create is a back-up button, which exports all the data from my dataset into an excel file

Sep 24, 2009I have to import a tab delimited file into Excel and export it back out to correct a formatting issue caused by FoxPro. I need to pad a column with 10, Zeros and that is good with this here: objxl.columns("B:B").numberformat="0000000000". However I have 2 cells in the sheet, row 1B and 2B that I want to exclude from the number format above. Because it is a date field and it writes to that same column so it pads my date. I do have a need to Pad that date field with mmddyyyy so I have to pad it 8 - zeros.

May 8, 2012I have this issue that occurs with me and driving me crazy i have a report that contains thousands of records and i need to export it to excel , but the excel normal extension .xls
is showing missing records at the end of the file , so i save my file as an .xlsx extension it saves correctly but when i open the file it generates an error
"Excel cannot open the file '<var>filename</var>.xlsx' because the file format for the file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file."but when i test the file i drag it and open it in an empty notepad all the records shows up correctly

All my searches result in information about using 2005/2008 versions of Visual Studio, which seems odd if Microsoft are pushing to use Visual Studio 2010. I would like to use VS 2010. So, can I develop Windows mobile applications using VB 2010? If not, what version of VS do I need and what language should I use?

I'm getting the error: "The given path's format is not supported".
I read the xml file no problems and make the changes as well. I have double checked that. When attempting to save the xml is when the error occurs. the xml file has 50k lines in it, and as the code suggets, it is hosted on an ftp server.
IS claims that permissions are 777. Also, I tried the same code on a file on my local drive, instead of the ftp address, and it worked perfectly.
