I'm getting the error: "The given path's format is not supported".
I read the xml file no problems and make the changes as well. I have double checked that. When attempting to save the xml is when the error occurs. the xml file has 50k lines in it, and as the code suggets, it is hosted on an ftp server.
IS claims that permissions are 777. Also, I tried the same code on a file on my local drive, instead of the ftp address, and it worked perfectly.
Yeah okay so, I am sure my directory exists, I just do not understand why this errors gets sput out..

An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file \CATV-ANTIVIRUSdataCLINICA_Data.mdf failed. a database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. i need the datasource to start creating datareports but i don't know how to resolve this problem before.

View 12 RepliesI need a code for the open file dialog that if a file is not supported then a message box appears stating the error. This is my open file dialog code. [code] The message box pops up like it is suppose to, when you click ok the open file comes back up like it is suppose to. When you put in the correct file the message box comes back up again. Also the message pops up even if the correct file is put in the open file. but if you close the file dialog the image is where it is suppose to be.I believe the code for the public sub wrongfile is what is the problem. can some one look it over and let me know what changes are needed.

Only servers up to Microsoft SQL 2005 are supported VB.NET" I am using VB.NET 2008 and attempting to connect to SQL Server 2008 with XP as the operating system. I have service pack 1 installed in Visual Studio but this error message presists. The articles I have read on this error said to install sp1 as a solution but I have done that and the error persists. FYI, the error does not occur when I am using code to connect to SQL Server but when I attempt to connect using one of the designer wizards this error occure.

This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.
I'm using acrobat that returns unix paths instead of windows path's. So im wondering if there is a way in vb.net to convert the path to windows path.

I recently upgraded the MS SQL Server installed on my personal computer from 2005 Express to 2008 Express. Problem is when I try to add an SQL database file to a project using VS 2005 I get an error message saying that the version of my database server is not supported, I must have SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 or later installed. I didn't do it yet but I'm pretty sure that when I open the other projects that I included a database file to it, I'm going to get the same error.
My question is it possible to have two SQL Servers installed on my machine? If so, is it a good idea to have two DB servers in the same machine?

Well im making a program that will Add the Safe File Name of the File opened in the Open File Dialog to the first column of the listview and the File name and path to the second. What i want it so when i double click on the Safe file name it will open the file specified in the path in the second column.i already got the add file to it.

I'm working on a personal project and so far everything is going perfect. Almost. I have a problem with getting music file info based off of its file path. I.e. "
C:UsersUSERetc." The only things I would need from y'all would be how to get the song's Artist(s) and Name (maybe there's something similar to 'AxWindowsMediaPlayer.currentMedia.getitemInfo("Information")' without actually having to play the song?
After I get this information, I would like to know how to add it to a ListBox as this: "[Artist] - [Song Name]", but I can do the text part if I know the getting-the-information part and adding-the-info-to-listbox part.
