Mar 2, 2010I have no knowledge whatsoever in any kind of API available for VB.net (besides this one, which I already tried and it did not work).The Interface of this project is going to be quite simple:Percentage BarCurrent Download Speed Available SeedsTime Remaining to Finish Open Torrent File DialogueThe only thing I'm missing is a way to include bittorrent protocols into a VB.NET project, after that i will be successful on my own (I hope ).

Even with a Backgroundworker. So my question is : is there a way to keep a constant connection between the form and the host? And not LAN ,I mean that doesnt need to be on the same router.

gives me "Unable to read data from the transport connection: A blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall."
Now im talking the server, after the client clicks disconnect or closes by task manager, looses connection, etc the server crashes and gives me.

Just want the client to send the server 4 numbers, depending on the user's choice; after that, the server would turn off the pc, restart it, etc. It all depends on the number received. Jul 15, 2009i have been working on a chat program Server side and client side i have most of the features i was asked to put in but then once i got most of the bugs out i noticed something the server admin could send whispers and alerts to single users but then when you try do do it on the client side it wont work so i looked through it all and found my issue the user list on the client is only a list of the names in server hash table so i was wondering how do i send the hashtable and all of its data E.G. user connection information to the client so that it can send commands to individual users like the server side can

i tried to send the hashtable over the same method used to send the user names to the client but it cannot convert the hashtable to a string so that wont work so my question is How do i send the hash table to the user from the server then display the username on the client ??

Jan 6, 2011Im trying to make a basic Client/Server. The server can handle multiple clients and each client can send /recieve messages from the server.It works fine with just 1 client. but as soon as i connect with a second client. The first one no longer works. Anything sent from the first client is ignored by the server and when running the server in debug mode it gets errors from the client 1 stream.
Its as if the server will only hold one stream at a time and whenever another client joins the other streams are shut but the new client works fine. Even though i never close a stream.

Edit: FINALLY FOUND IT! Stupid mistake i forgot to put the ClientN variable up by one for each new client.So i was creating a new space in the array but erasing the first slot for the new client

The problem is that if a user need to update other data the user click another button which refreshes the page and all rows the user created in the table are deleted. My question is what can I do to make the rows not to be deleted once the page is refreshed? I know some might think, just not refresh the page, but there is to much data that has to be displayed and a new query has to be generated to grab the data.

Jun 29, 2010I have an application that takes a series of reports and sends them as attachments in an email to a specified group of email accounts.
When I run the Java version of this using apache commons and the same setting, the email is sent. However, when I run the VB.NET version of the code, it fails on my local machine and on the client machine.
I have a VB.NET web application running on a server that uses similar code. I tried that code locally and it fails. Yet, the web application is working perfectly.
Why is it that the Java application can send the email, but the .NET application cannot?[code]....
