I am attempting to consume my Zenfolio RSS feed so that i can display the images in the feed. How can i access the url value of the media:thumbnail and media:content elements in my RSS feed? I have googled high and low and not found an answer regarding how to access the url value. There was a similiar unanswered SO post.
Examples of the elements:
<media:thumbnail url="http://riderdesign.net/img/s11/v35/p449020235-2.jpg"

im working on a little app for my self, to make my life a little more convenient. I have some media keys on my laptop, and I would like to use them with itunes while it is minimized. I found a app that did it for me a long time ago, but cant seem to find it now. But I would like to try my hand at my own, and I've managed to do so, but, my app has to be in focus for it to work. is there any way to still detect when these media keys are pressed while my app is out of focus?
View 9 RepliesI am messing around with the WMPLib component provided by Windows Media Player 12 (wmp.dll) in VB.NET with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
I am trying to retrieve a media item from my media library based on its name (assuming there are no duplicate names). At the moment, I'm grabbing the entire media library, and looping through every media item, and quitting the loop when I've found the correct media item. This works well (except for when a media item with that name cannot be found), but I was hoping there was a more efficient way of doing this.
Here is my code so far:
Public Class WMPTest
Private myWMP As WMPLib.IWMPCore
Private myMediaCollection As WMPLib.IWMPMediaCollection
[Code]......
So what I really want is a way to optimize findTrack() to do its thing without looping through the entire media library (which could be huge).
I have created a media player (vb.net 2005) using the media player control. Plays fine when using open dialog box and url. I have set my player as the default player but when I click on a media file, the player will open but not play. I am sure it has to do with on open event and coding the url to see the selected file just like any other media player out there.

I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?
i'm making my own advanced media player but theres a prob.i can open video fine.hit play it plays it...but if I hit pause then want to continue with the vid and I hit pause or play..it restarts the vid completely instead of resuming....in simple terms i want pause to pause and un pause video.[code]

View 2 Repliesi have media center's "put media center always on top UNchecked, but it doesn't seem to affect how the program works if it's maximized. I have a custom media control interface with functions that change depending on an event such as holding the button in. To show the user what it's SUPPOSED to be doing, i've tried a few different ways to get a notification to show over the top of media center's screen.
1. Had media center's display notifications turned on and showed a balloontip in the task bar... NO EFFECT
2. Found a MCE Plugin i can shell to, but am unable to actually find a download site in english for it
3. Wrote a simple vb.net program to give a popup form to show text but it appears behind the mce window always, even when i have the form's "always on top" checked, and i even tried the setwindowpos api call, although i might not have used it correctly since i manually converted it from vb6.
My final attempt will be to send the keycommand to "restore" the media center window which will open up some screen real estate on the bottom and right, exposing part of my program's window that i can show text on.
Ok I'm making a media player using a listbox, but when I added an Item to the listbox it would display as a URL, so I decided to make a mediaplayer playlist instead then when I add a new song it would put the title of the song in the listbox but I have an issue, when I goto switch the song in the listbox, it shuts down with an error.

I am using the following code to play sounds in my VB.NET application: [Code] now this works fine for any sound file. However there is a second sound file (sound2.wav) which I want to play sometimes too. I want sound2 to have priority over sound1, however if I play sound2 using this method and then sound1 also plays a second later, sound2 will be canceled for sound1 to play.
So I'd like to know if there's a way to either play both sounds at once, or to check if sound2 is playing before I play sound1, and then only play sound1 if sound2 is not currently playing.
I am using the WindowsMediaPlayer. I disabled the Controls , and created my own. I want to use a Trackbar to slide throug the media being played. This works, for moving
Private Sub TrackBar2_Scroll(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TrackBar2.Scroll
LenOfVideo = AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.currentMedia.duration
TrackBar2.Maximum = LenOfVideo
[code]....
But i need the trackbar to track of the position of the video while playing. It stands still now. I need it to be updated.
I'm not sure if the other post went through so, i am using AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Pause() and it's not doing anything i get the error:
Error1'pause' is not a member of 'AxWMPLib.AxWindowsMediaPlayer'.C:Users--------AppDataLocalTemporary ProjectsWindowsApplication1Form1.vb49WindowsApplication1
Im trying to create a media player using my own controls.Im setting the "uiMode" of the media player to none in its property panel. but its not removing the default windows media player controls when i debug it.

I use panel as the owner of the video and after I minimize and change it to normal state, the panel goes blank but the sound goes on. Then I get an error in application notification by VB2008. There might be something to do with the graphics where I dint handle it when I minimize it.
View 3 RepliesI have made a really simple program launcher for my home theater pc that allows me to launch 6 programs, open/close the optical drive and shutdown.I don't have a mouse or a keyboard normally hooked up. I can navigate the buttons with the up and down arrows fine, but only in the tab index order. Is there a way to allow the left/right arrows to focus on the buttons to the side? Here is a screen shot of my application to hopefully give a better idea of what I'm asking. (eg. Can I hit the right arrow from my first button and focus on the Open button?)

View 8 Replieshow to play video or audio in a vb.net application but have come up with not a lot.
I want to create a program that accessing a web server (no problem on that) and will pick up audio and video that is stored on that server.
Or, maybe do a live broadcast where I can play my guitar and sing a song. (Promise if I get this done through here I will give you a live performance) on that note I am sure you will all hold back.
This is a little open and wide, but what I would like to know via a webserver is this possible
1.Video
2.Audio
3.Live broadcast
