i'm making my own advanced media player but theres a prob.i can open video fine.hit play it plays it...but if I hit pause then want to continue with the vid and I hit pause or play..it restarts the vid completely instead of resuming....in simple terms i want pause to pause and un pause video.[code]
I'm trying to add a new feature to some software I have developed but am having difficulty. Essentially I want to add a 'Pause' and a 'Resume' feature.I have a timer which counts down.
Private Sub Timer_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer.Tick Dim togo As TimeSpan = mTestEnd.Subtract(Now) If togo.Ticks < 0 Then Timer.Enabled = False
[code]....
When the Start command button is clicked the timer starts counting down from what amount the user inputed. I've added an elseif to pause the timer and this works ok. When I click resume the although the timer text has paused the actual timer has not and continues from where the timer would be if it had not been stopped. Much like a stopwatch lap timer. Could you help me with my Else statement.
I am using HttpWebRequest/Response to download a file. What would i need to do on the coding side to allow resuming of interupted downloads and what would i need to know from the server if it allows me to do this?
Public Class Form1 Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form Dim ct, ctJmp, ctRgt, ctLft, wait, wait2, origTop As Integer Dim jumping, up, down, lft, rght As Boolean Private Sub Form1_KeyDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles MyBase.KeyDown [Code] ..... Basically what I want to do is if the player is still holding the right arrow key after the up arrow is pressed and jumping finishes, I want him to continue to run.
I am trying to find a way to resume a thread after catching the AbortThreadException and calling AbortReset.
My thread is running a loop to control two motors used in a raster scan. Once the button is pressed to begin the scan, I want to be able to click a stop scan button and have the following happen:
1. AbortThreadException is thrown and caught- a window comes up asking if you really want to abort the scan. Click yes for abort, no for suspend, or cancel to continue scanning.
2. Given users answer the program responds accordingly- If cancel, then the scan should continue right where it left off and not restart.
My problem occurs in my understanding of the thread events. I am not sure how to tell a thread to wait for a button event nor do i know how to tell a thread to continue where it left off. I also noticed that the 'suspend' and 'resume' methods have been deemed obsolete and i am not sure of the alternative way of doing those actions.
The following is the code used to catch the exception and execute the task.
I'm trying to play a MIDI file in my VB.NET (VB 2010 Express) and things work well with the code from this other question here on Stack Overflow, which I translated from C to VB.However, I also need to PAUSE, while that code is only for open and stop. I edited the code like this:
I am attempting to consume my Zenfolio RSS feed so that i can display the images in the feed. How can i access the url value of the media:thumbnail and media:content elements in my RSS feed? I have googled high and low and not found an answer regarding how to access the url value. There was a similiar unanswered SO post.
Examples of the elements: <media:thumbnail url="http://riderdesign.net/img/s11/v35/p449020235-2.jpg" width="400"
im working on a little app for my self, to make my life a little more convenient. I have some media keys on my laptop, and I would like to use them with itunes while it is minimized. I found a app that did it for me a long time ago, but cant seem to find it now. But I would like to try my hand at my own, and I've managed to do so, but, my app has to be in focus for it to work. is there any way to still detect when these media keys are pressed while my app is out of focus?
I am thining of using a boolean value per each backgroundworker to flag their completion and check all of the boolean values but there should be a better way,
I am developing a Windows Service in VB2008 and am in the testing stage. What I have noticed is that if I Pause it while it is busy doing something and then resume it, the process generates an error. While I am debugging this I wanted to determine exactly what the difference is between Pausing/Resuming and Stopping/Starting a service.I searched, but most results simply told me how to Stop/Start/Pause and Resume a service, a hurdle that I jumped over many years ago. Does any one know of any resources that go into detail what happens when a service is stopped vs when it is paused? From some experimentation, it seems that if I do not place any code in the OnPause and OnContinue events the Pause/Resume commands have no effect.
I am messing around with the WMPLib component provided by Windows Media Player 12 (wmp.dll) in VB.NET with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
I am trying to retrieve a media item from my media library based on its name (assuming there are no duplicate names). At the moment, I'm grabbing the entire media library, and looping through every media item, and quitting the loop when I've found the correct media item. This works well (except for when a media item with that name cannot be found), but I was hoping there was a more efficient way of doing this.
Here is my code so far:
Public Class WMPTest Private myWMP As WMPLib.IWMPCore Private myMediaCollection As WMPLib.IWMPMediaCollection
[Code]......
So what I really want is a way to optimize findTrack() to do its thing without looping through the entire media library (which could be huge).
I have created a media player (vb.net 2005) using the media player control. Plays fine when using open dialog box and url. I have set my player as the default player but when I click on a media file, the player will open but not play. I am sure it has to do with on open event and coding the url to see the selected file just like any other media player out there.
How to change the frame rate in Visual Basic 2008 Media Player? I have error: System.NullReferenceException was unhandled Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. IS there any way to fix this? Here's My Code
I need to detect if a [blank] media (CD/DVD) is inserted into the D: drive for an internal software I'm writing. The drive is static as drive D:. How can I tell if media is inserted, first off, and secondly, is it possible to tell if it's blank?
i have media center's "put media center always on top UNchecked, but it doesn't seem to affect how the program works if it's maximized. I have a custom media control interface with functions that change depending on an event such as holding the button in. To show the user what it's SUPPOSED to be doing, i've tried a few different ways to get a notification to show over the top of media center's screen.
1. Had media center's display notifications turned on and showed a balloontip in the task bar... NO EFFECT
2. Found a MCE Plugin i can shell to, but am unable to actually find a download site in english for it
3. Wrote a simple vb.net program to give a popup form to show text but it appears behind the mce window always, even when i have the form's "always on top" checked, and i even tried the setwindowpos api call, although i might not have used it correctly since i manually converted it from vb6.
My final attempt will be to send the keycommand to "restore" the media center window which will open up some screen real estate on the bottom and right, exposing part of my program's window that i can show text on.
Ok I'm making a media player using a listbox, but when I added an Item to the listbox it would display as a URL, so I decided to make a mediaplayer playlist instead then when I add a new song it would put the title of the song in the listbox but I have an issue, when I goto switch the song in the listbox, it shuts down with an error. [Code]
I am using the following code to play sounds in my VB.NET application: [Code] now this works fine for any sound file. However there is a second sound file (sound2.wav) which I want to play sometimes too. I want sound2 to have priority over sound1, however if I play sound2 using this method and then sound1 also plays a second later, sound2 will be canceled for sound1 to play.
So I'd like to know if there's a way to either play both sounds at once, or to check if sound2 is playing before I play sound1, and then only play sound1 if sound2 is not currently playing.
I am using the WindowsMediaPlayer. I disabled the Controls , and created my own. I want to use a Trackbar to slide throug the media being played. This works, for moving
Private Sub TrackBar2_Scroll(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TrackBar2.Scroll LenOfVideo = AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.currentMedia.duration TrackBar2.Maximum = LenOfVideo
[code]....
But i need the trackbar to track of the position of the video while playing. It stands still now. I need it to be updated.
I'm not sure if the other post went through so, i am using AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Pause() and it's not doing anything i get the error:
Error1'pause' is not a member of 'AxWMPLib.AxWindowsMediaPlayer'.C:Users--------AppDataLocalTemporary ProjectsWindowsApplication1Form1.vb49WindowsApplication1
Im trying to create a media player using my own controls.Im setting the "uiMode" of the media player to none in its property panel. but its not removing the default windows media player controls when i debug it.
I thought that I would make a WCF based media player in a standard windows form so I whipped up the following:[code]The video loads ok when the btnLoadAndPlay button is pressed..However the uc.Stop in the btnStop_Click does not stop the video any ideas why this may be happening?
In my Application, I have a Windows Media Player App integrated. Is their anyway I can have it so If a checkbox is checked, Then it will automatically start playing, And if the checkbox is NOT checked, then the user has to manually press the play button?
I've used Windows Media Center and I'm very impressed by its UI. I wonder how to write such a program like that, I mean "full screen", effects... I think it is written in DirectX or something. I want to know this just for my curiosity.
I just had a new, last-minute idea on to take on a task, so I am running to StackExchange for quick help.
What I want to do is execute a series of methods right in a row, each in their own threads. I want the application to wait until all of these threads are completed, after which the program will resume. It also has to use managed threading (thread pool).
What quick examples could you provide to help me along the way? If it's too complex, what things should I know about so that I can Google it on my own?
