I am developing a web mapping application intranet from our company. And I am creating add polygon function on the map. I use AspMap, Vb.net and sql server. So when user click a button for add new record therefor out the web form input data attribute. When i run the application I get trouble like this Incorrect syntax near '?' My code is:

I have a scenario at hand which has some design discussion going on. To break it down in simple words, think about a hierarchy as such Company -----> Customer ------> Orders (ignore the details of how the orders have products etc) if I was to expose an API to work with this, what would be a better design.

I've got 6 hours left to finish a uni project. It's a basic database driven e-commerce site. I have a home page, a products page, an orders page, an order confirm page, a shopping cart page and a view current orders page. The site uses an Access database with three tables. A Customer table, with all of the customer details, (FirstName, LastName, EmailAdd, CardNo, CardEx, SortCode, DeliveryAdd, Postcode) A Products table, with all the product information, (ProductID, ProductName, Price, ProductType, Images, ProductDescription). And an Orders table which contains CustomerID and ProductID. I'm trying to create an INSERT statement on the orders page so that when the customer inserts their details and presses the submit button the customers table will have a new record inserted. I also want this to create an entry in the orders table and redirect the client to the order confirm page which will display the details of the order. Here is my code which runs when the submit button is clicked on the order form. EDIT I've fixed the error with the missing apostrophe. Attempting to insert using two sql commands as I've been told that access databases can't handle two at once. Still getting an error though.

I've been trying make a mdi notepad that can start up new instances of a "note" which is unique from the other notes as in you can save/change/cut/ copy/ paste in the individual notes without changing the properties of the other notes..something like a tabbed notepad but instead of tab control i have a mdi container. but i can't make it work. [code] problem with it is that whatever you cut/copy/paste in one mdi container richtextbox, it automatically cuts/copies/pastes in the other richtextbox controls in the other containers..

View 1 RepliesI want to "manage" a table of "orders." Orders is a typical table with a foreign key pointing to a customer, and a one-to-many relationship with a "details" table. To manage orders means to enter new orders, add details to orders, record payments, print a list of orders, cancel orders, mark orders shipped, print one order, etc., etc. These tasks can be divided into tasks that affect single orders (cancel an order) and tasks that affect multiple orders (print a list of orders).That task division led me to this user interface: present a form/window that displays by default a list of orders, and provide a button that switches the view from list mode to single-order mode. Each mode then provides the buttons for its tasks.

I know their are problems with decimal values in the binary world but isn't there a work around for this?For example 421.2 - 418.9 = 2.3, but the result stored in the SQL Server table is 2.29!In the VB code I used Math.Round to round to two digits and the values appear correct during debugging but, as I've said, in the end they are off by .01. I am trying to recreate Sticky Notes as much as possible from the Windows 7 Sticky Notes Application. My problem is, I put a richtextbox on the sticky notes panel and wanted to either add a background image, or a transparent backcolor (my Panel that the textbox is in has the background image of the themed sticky notes). I'm, using a SQL Server table in a DataGridView and I'm having trouble adding records. I'm new to vb.net but used vb6 for a lot of years so the transition is a little difficult. For now I'm just trying to add a record using a button click but the record key which is setup as integer and to automatically increment by 1 shows as -1 after the record is created. While the data does show in the grid it is never actually posted in the table. Once created I want to select the record just entered.

View 2 RepliesWhat I need to know is if there is a way to combine forms. What I mean is, that when the program is open there is only 1 item on the toolbar instead of multiple shown on the toolbar. For example, I open the main app. and click on notes. The notes would open another form, but I wouldn't want another item on the toolbar, just the main 1, and if the X is pressed on the second form, it should just close that form, not the whole program. I mainly want this so that all the forms will minimize at once... and won't have the extra clutter of all the forms having a separate item added to the toolbar. So simply, I want 1 main form shown on the toolbar and when multiple forms are opened from the same project, it doesn't add to the toolbar and just keeps the one main tool bar.

I'm having trouble with a Stopwatch one one of the user's machines. I'm using the Stopwatch class to track time elapsed on one of my applications, and it seems to work fine on everyone else's machine, but on one machine it goes really slow. It's probably 1/3 or 1/4 of the actual time elapsed.
