VS 2008 - Combine Forms - Open The Main App And Click On Notes

What I need to know is if there is a way to combine forms. What I mean is, that when the program is open there is only 1 item on the toolbar instead of multiple shown on the toolbar. For example, I open the main app. and click on notes. The notes would open another form, but I wouldn't want another item on the toolbar, just the main 1, and if the X is pressed on the second form, it should just close that form, not the whole program. I mainly want this so that all the forms will minimize at once... and won't have the extra clutter of all the forms having a separate item added to the toolbar. So simply, I want 1 main form shown on the toolbar and when multiple forms are opened from the same project, it doesn't add to the toolbar and just keeps the one main tool bar.

I am using visual studio 2008 vb language I create a sql table and i want to show it in a nice format. I use the report wizard and point everything to the sql table. i create a form with the extension rdlc (i think its crystal)from my main.vb i want to click a button and open up report1.rdlc how do i do that?

I've been trying make a mdi notepad that can start up new instances of a "note" which is unique from the other notes as in you can save/change/cut/ copy/ paste in the individual notes without changing the properties of the other notes..something like a tabbed notepad but instead of tab control i have a mdi container. but i can't make it work. [code] problem with it is that whatever you cut/copy/paste in one mdi container richtextbox, it automatically cuts/copies/pastes in the other richtextbox controls in the other containers..

When I open my child form,
frm_Analogs.ShowDialog()
It opens up the new form, but now I can not interact with my main form. It will not accept focus or allow me to interact with it.
Do I need to change the form type?

Ok i am making a game (based on windows95)....i have it going good so far.I have it so you can open notepad (this is in a panel and its not the real system notepad)You can click save document and it saves the text it in a hidden textbox with a random filename (defined by user) and it saves it in a listveiw (windows explorer type thing).The idea is i want it to be so that if you double click the listveiw item it will open the textfile (text stored in a hidden textbox) Heres my code which is attempting to do this but i just can't think how to link them.

I have an MDI running as the parent. How can you stop the forms moving to the back when they are open if you click in the any part of the MDI area. Also I notice if I have more than one form open it creates form instances on my windows task bar?

I want to create a notes app for Windows Phone 7 using Visual Basic.I have read a few tutorials but they are all suited for C# not VB. Basically, I have a main page and a page to add notes. Once the user types out a note on the add notes page, the title of that note appears on the main page. I also want the user to be able to select that title and it will display the note. I have done a bit of research and I know I will need to use isolated storage (not sure how to implement it in VB) to save the notes. I think I will also need a list box that will store the title of the notes.

I have a webform that users put in details and this goes to a database - this all works fine.The form is a FormView (Expression Web) and as I have added to other stuff to the page I can't use the standard "insert" button on the form view some I have add an asp-button to run the insert - this also works fine.What I am trying to do is to get the page to send me an e mail when a user has completed the form - this is the problem ,The insert works fine when I click a button,The send e mail works fine when I click a button BUT I need to combine them so the user only has to click once.At the moment I have two functions running on 2 buttons
InsertButton_Click and SubmitForm_Click
How can I combine this to both run on InsertButton_Click[code]......

Am devloping an application with multiple forms, which reside on top of a main form. i.e the main application window. The 'child' forms do not need to be linked in any way as they do not pass information to the parent form, as all the parent form does is act as main window.Now I would like to know what is the correct way for the 'main window' form acting as a container for the other forms? So that all the smaller secondary forms stay focused on top of the main application form, that when the main window is minimized, so these forms should do also etc..
I have read other posts and they mention, leaving all the forms standard i.e. IsMdiContainer = False and then using form.showDialog() to call the secondary forms. This did not work for me as what happens is that as soon as I give focus to the main app form, the secondary form disappears underneath.I tired making the main app form IsMdiContainer = True and when it loads calling:
frmMemberForm.MdiParent = Me
Now this works, because I can click off the form and minimize the app etc and the frmMemberForm doesn't disappear. However if i close the MemberForm and reopen it, it looses this property and once again when it looses focus, it will disappear.

As part of my current project for making student's lives easier by making an All-In-One application with many common programs carbon-copied inside it, I have a slight problem with sticky notes.
I am trying to recreate Sticky Notes as much as possible from the Windows 7 Sticky Notes Application. My problem is, I put a richtextbox on the sticky notes panel and wanted to either add a background image, or a transparent backcolor (my Panel that the textbox is in has the background image of the themed sticky notes). My app works fine on the development machine and 3 other machines. However, some machines just show the main login box and then fail to show the main screen. There is no error message. I installed VS 2008 express on on of such machines and when i compile the project, the following errors appear:

Say i have a text file and i right click it on desktop you can go to the option i think its Send to then there is many options like Send in an email and stuff but how would i get it so if there is an IP any where i can right click it and click send to/open with(i dont know which it is) to open my program renlauncher then putting the Ip in the ip textbox. The above code is what I used in VB6 to close all forms associated with my programs before my program closed. I have been searching for information on how to make sure all forms are closed when closing a VB2008 program.
I have seen info on using the Project Property Shutdown mode When startup form closes and I currently have this set.
Is this all that is really necessary? Will the garbage disposal close everything else to free up RAM?
Also, if I have several forms open and want to close all from the main form without closing each one individually, what is the best approach? Is there a collection like in VB6, go through the collection, compare it to the name of the main form and close it if it is not the main form?

I am having a funny problem with OpenFileDialog that I just cannot solve. Using VB.NET 2008 Pro.
Problem: I run my program and click the menu item associated with this OFD and the OFD opens fine. When I select a file and click OPEN the dialog disappears then reappears. I click OPEN again and it disposes itself then loads the proper file into a form. The same thing happens with the CANCEL button as well.
Question: How do I go about coding the OFD to open a file that has been double clicked on thus bypassing dialogresult.OK . I can't seem to find an answer to this.

I have two forms in my project, Form1 and Form2. In Form1 there is one TextBox called Text1, and in the Form2 there is TextBox called Text2. I have one button in Form1, called Button1. When I click on Button1 I want that Form2 open and in Text2 is text from Text1.
Code for Button1:

Form2_Shown:
Text2.Text = Form1.Text1.Text
And Form2 open but in Text2 there is no text.
