so ive made a alarm clock, and i want you to be able to set you own time. so i have atleast 2 questions.
1. i got 1 label and 3 textboxes. in textbox1 the value is 02. t2 is 20 and t3 is 43. how do i do to make it post like this in label1? 02:20:43 i was using this
label1.text = textbox1.text ":"+ textbox2.text ":"+ textbox3.text
but that didnt work at all. and removing the "" didnt help.
2. and the second question is almost as same. how do i do to make the 02:20:43 apear in a textbox in form1 if 02:20:43 is written in form2?

I would like to know how it's possible to append text between data.
For example:
I have a RTB with "ABC" on the first line and "DEF" on the third line. My question is how would I insert text data into the second line, without changing any existing data.

I'm creating a Multiplayer LAN game in VB 2008 here is what I wanted to do I created a textbox named txtbuttons.text. If I inputed a value, for example 23856 in the textbox.The Values will be distributed in different textboxes.
example
Value of txtbutton.text = 23856
2 will be distributed to txtAns.text
3 will be distributed to txtAns2.text
8 will be distributed to txtAns3.text
5 will be distributed to txtAns4.text
6 will be distributed to txtAns5.text

Again a little (for me) tricky thing:Supose you have a ComboBox control with predefined values - to keep it simple, let's add some colors:
- Blue
- Green
- Red
- Yellow
Now you have a TextBox control as well. If you type into the TextBox BLUE (non-key sensitive) I would like to make it recognize that this value already exists. It does not have to do anything else except for notifying me about a match.I do think that the TextBox1.KeyPress or TextBox1.TextChanged event is what I need but I have no idea how to compare to the ComboBox1 items. I've tried to create an Array of my ComboBox1.Items but didn't get much more than errors. Can anybody help? I am sure it is quite simple however, I can't get my mind set to go in the right direction

I've a got a homework assignment that chooses one of four values in a list box, stores it in a text file. Secondly, on the display click event it should access the text file, read the line, store it in a variable and then display the totals in a text box. Works sort of fine except that it doesn't display the totals correctly. Code for both buttons is below. The variable are assigned in the mainform (Tried also in the display button and didn't change anything). The save button works fine and stores fine in the text file, it's just the reading that's the problem.

I'm having a problem with moving items between list boxes, i'm fine with moving an item from 1 list box to another but thats 2 boxes and i have 4. I basically want to know the code to move 1 item from a list box to any of my other 3 list boxes.

I have a groupbox with a number of textboxes. I want to loop through all the textboxes, get their value( text) and add them all together and show it in a final totaltextbox outside the groupbox. This is what i have done but it does not work. The totaltextbox values do not change. Here is my code :

I have an app that reads 2 colums of numbers from a .rtf textfile. The textfile is added to a textbox line by line in a counter. Now I want to split these values to 2 other textboxes. but I don't know how to proceed now. I have a simple windows form application (I'm working in Visual Basic Express 2008).
There are some forms that have simple text boxes. When somebody wants to edit something in this boxes he pushes edit button and then they are enabled. I insert some text and when I save this text is saved for good.
When I reopen the application this text is there like I want it to be. Just for information, this text is always the same in one text box, until I change it (me or some other user) - so I think there is no need for databases. For my needs this is ok because I don't need to change this data often. This is code in Form load event (for calling back the data)

I am writing a code to search through the entire listbox items and highlight them whenever user enters text in textbox. I am looping through textbox items which are entered using a 'comma' . But the code fails to add it to selected indices when user types multiple items using comma. It works fine for single items.

I cant seem to find any link or topic regarding my problem. I have 2 forms in a project, form one has labels and adjacent combobox while the other form (form 2)has textboxes with adjacent combobox. I am supposed to change the text property of the labels using textbox entry from form 2 and add/delete/change combobox contents in fom 1 using entries combobox at form 2.

Im attempting to loop through all the text boxes inside of a group box, and add the text into a list box to later be written to a text file. Here is the code I am using.

Now instead of locating only the text boxes, apparently it is still trying to identify the labels as text boxes, because I am getting this error:Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.Label' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.GroupBox'.

Before I start great forums, from what i've seen browsing unregistered this place is a treasure trove of information; however, after searching for what I need I could only find threads that seemed way to complicated or irrelevant, so...Essentialy I have created a program in which values entered are saved to seperate text files depending on which tab of a Tab Control they originate (from text boxes). I'm pretty new to VB but i managed to save the values of each text box to a .txt as CSV, essentialy all values will only ever be decimals (as currency) or dates. Example code for one of the .txt's:

I am working on Treeview control and Gridview Control VB.NET08. In the Treeview i have Parent and Child Nodes. Like: [Code] Comparing the Parent Node text and first two digits in the Column values. I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.
These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.
