VS 2010 Compare Pixel Range On Screen To A Saved Image?

We stream the BBC news channel through a laptop hooked to a PC in reception for our clients. Annoyingly the stream is interrupted randomly (the line isn't dropping, it's the BBC's problem). Therefore when it's interrupted we get an error screen appearing which we have to go and manually refresh to get the stream back playing.
My intentions are to build an app which will be run alongside (silently) the stream monitoring intermittently a range of pixels. If the range matches the error screen that I mentioned previously then I'd call "Esc" to exit the full screen and then "F5" to refresh the browser and finally a double click on a specified coordinate to bring it back to full screen.
Problem: I've been doing some googling and so far have only seen related posts where the comparison is between two saved images. Due to this I expect the answer to be "Take a screenshot every now and then, compare, return result".

I was wondering if their is a way to set my program to search for a certian image or a set of pixels on the screen every 5 seconds, and if the specific image is on the screen, click it.

How can I find out the pixel colour of a certain point on a web browser. For instance,WebBrowser1.getPixelColor(0,0) would get the rgb colour value of pixel 0, 0.It doesn't have to be rgb it might be hsl or whatever.The web browser is showing a local web page that is hosted on a network. and i need to convert the image into a text.now anyone thinking that i can just use ocr is unfortunatly wrong i have tried about 5 of them and they dont work because the text in the image is to small for it to recognise it.so i need to search the above image for a smaller image such as this.so by doing this if i get a result saying true then i will be able to go from be there and convert to text.now i know of two way to search an image for a smaller image. first is by going by pixel search and well i can get that to work but it is to slow.the second method is to convert the image to a byte array(beig an image it will be a 2d byte array) and convert the other image to a byte array and then compare.

I am "weeks new" to visual basic 2008 but I was hoping that someone might tell me how I can open an image in whatever type of "visible" graphics window (always positioned at: x=0 y=0); move to some "definable position" of interest x=(n) y=(n); change the brightness of that "individual pixel" by some "definable means of measure" from its original state; and save the new image as a separate image file?

What I want to do is get the color of a position on the screen. I'd rather not capture the whole screen if I don't have to, just one pixel's color. I was trying to use GetPixel(ByVal hDC As IntPtr, ByVal x As Integer, ByVal y As Integer) As Integer, but I can't figure out how to get the handle to the screen.

I need to draw 100 lines between 100 semi-random points in a 800x800 pixel square on the screen.
I've been using the built-in drawlines & drawrecangles functions inside of .NET, but my drawing gets erased everytime the form paints.
So, I've been thinking about perhaps drawing to an in-memory bitmap, but I'm not sure if that's a good solution.

Say I wanted to find RGB(255, 255, 0) and get the X, Y, position of it, how would I do that?
I was thinking of a loop with BMP.GetPixel, but I wouldn't know how to check. It's not compatable with RGB.[code]...

I am trying to read a 16bit binary file (tif image) and pixel values of the image ranges from 1200 to 4500. I tried to use BinaryReader using ReadUInt16 but I get EndOfStreamException Unhandled error. ReadByte method works fine with an 8bit tif file. I do not know how to read a 16bit image file using binaryReader. Shouldn't I use ReadUInt16 since values of pixels range from 1200 to 4500?

I save my images into my SQL Server Database with ASP.NET(2.0).
(imageData -> image) (imageType -> varchar) (imageLength -> bigint)
Thus the imageData will be "Binary data" and the imageType will be like "image/gif" and the imageLength will be like "6458".......
Is it possible to get the image HEIGHT and WIDTH from my VB.NET code inside my ASP.NET? I want to make my picture box on my web form the size of the actual image that is saved in my database.

I have now had two occurances of (different) users "losing" their frm position. I save the position to my.settings in the formClosing event ... and this is the only place that these values are set. When the users loaded the form the first time it worked just fine. At some later point the for got repositioned to -32000 (top) and -32000 (left). I now check for this and reposition the form when it is not on the monitor, but I'd like to understand what causes this. I'm using VS2010 and compiling against .net 3.5
Is the formClosing the wrong place to put the logic to save the settings?

I'm making a simple little program. It's going to save the image in the clipboard (from pressing Print Screen) to the folder that the .exe is in. My problem is trying to find out how to save the image file with a user-specified name, such as "Image", then adding numbers to it. So it would be like Image_00001, Image_00002, etc. I would like to make the name be specified using a textbox (pretty easy). I know how to get it to save as different image formats and all, and I know how to get it to save as a hardcoded name in a hardcoded location, but that it isn't what I'm aiming for. If you've ever used the screenshot function of Fraps or MSI Afterburner, then that's basically what I'm trying to make here.
I've already searched these forums and did some Googling, but couldn't find anything that I was looking for. Not even a sample program with something like this. I found something in the CodeBank, but it's all the stuff I've already gotten implemented.

I am fairly new to visual basic and have written this program to detect a change in a selected pixel on the screen. When the pixel changes, a sound plays every x seconds. It works fine but after a few hours of operation a possible memory leak causes it to either crash the program or the PC. I have watched the process and I can see 4k added to it every 4 seconds or so. Where this memory leak is coming from?

am using sql 2005 and vb 2008.i need to compare dates and select matching records betweem a selected date range.say records between 11/13/2010 and 11/20/2010.e.thing is working ok except when it comes to selecting dates between 11/1/2010 and 11/9/2010.this is happening because when am retrieving the dates from database,its being retrieved in the format 11/01/2010 instead of 11/1/2010 and so it reports no records found,and knowing the limits of sql 2005 this is the only way i can retrieve the date. I am looking to create simple application that means that when the 'Print Screen' button is pressed, the screenshot is not just sent to the clipboard but saved to the desktop in either JPEG or PNG format.The application will run at startup so that the 'new' print screen functionality is there but the interface of the app is opened manually.(the app interface includes simple options such as choose where file is saved.)
