View 1 RepliesI found that code somewhere and I find it quite useful but I would like to find a way to make it work so it capture only the given window target. Maybe with a processID or Window Name. Even if that window is not active. I do not want to make that window active but want to get a screen capture like if I was doing Alt+PrintScreen on it.

Im looking for a class or code in VB.NET that can convert a black and white image in JPEG format to a grayscale TIFF format.
View 2 RepliesI've plot a histogram in a picturebox called picHisto, but i'm having a problem in save it to jpeg or other format. When it saved, it appears to be a blank or white picture. The code below is the code i used for saving, thanks for the help.
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
Dim img As New Bitmap(picHisto.Width, picHisto.Height)
Dim g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(img)

Can any one share some code with me that would explain the process of storing a bitmap data in tiff wrapped JPEG format.
View 2 Repliessome link or could that could explain the way it could be done.
View 1 RepliesThis is my code to get screen captures every certain interval of time. But each image is being around 150kb and I want to make it smaller. what matters is the image size in kb to be around 70kb ( almost the half ) .
Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick
Dim ScreenSize As Size = New Size(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height)
Dim screenGrab As New Bitmap(My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Width, My.Computer.Screen.Bounds.Height)

I need to save the contents of a picbox to a jpeg file.I suspect the error exists because I do not actually load an image, but draw lines on its using picbox1.addline(), but I do not know how to fix this.

I created a program in MS Visual Web Developer 2010. It has a form that simply launches a script that manipulates a database. The project lives in several files and they are all inherited so they see each other and it accesses a MSSQL Express DB on one of our servers.
When I F5-Run the project locally on my PC it works fabulously. When I copy it to a web-enabled (application) folder on the server it executes but almost my very first line of code fails with this error[code]...
I have now had two occurances of (different) users "losing" their frm position. I save the position to my.settings in the formClosing event ... and this is the only place that these values are set. When the users loaded the form the first time it worked just fine. At some later point the for got repositioned to -32000 (top) and -32000 (left). I now check for this and reposition the form when it is not on the monitor, but I'd like to understand what causes this. I'm using VS2010 and compiling against .net 3.5
Is the formClosing the wrong place to put the logic to save the settings?
(vb 2008) how coud you make a picture saved on my computer go full screen and stay full screen for 30 seconds?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to access a database which is presently saved in .cds format (which I believe is a TClientDataSet) from within my programme written in VB.Net. The reason being, is that the programme I am writing uses the same database as another programme. Both programmes will never being running at the same time, and it is a read-only operation so I could potentially duplicate the database and convert the database to an SQL-compatible format, but obviously this isn't a tidy solution. Is there anyway that I can directly read data from the .cds file with VB.Net? It seems like this would be something that is not too complex and wouldn't be too different from just reading a .csv file.
View 3 Repliesi'm writing a simple program that outputs a report to a text file with code similar to below PrintLine(1, "Hello", "World") my question is how to format the text so it can be saved as courier new or bold? frustrated visual basic user
View 2 RepliesI am looking to create simple application that means that when the 'Print Screen' button is pressed, the screenshot is not just sent to the clipboard but saved to the desktop in either JPEG or PNG format. The application will run at startup so that the 'new' print screen functionality is there but the interface of the app is opened manually.(the app interface includes simple options such as choose where file is saved.)
View 4 RepliesWe stream the BBC news channel through a laptop hooked to a PC in reception for our clients. Annoyingly the stream is interrupted randomly (the line isn't dropping, it's the BBC's problem). Therefore when it's interrupted we get an error screen appearing which we have to go and manually refresh to get the stream back playing.
My intentions are to build an app which will be run alongside (silently) the stream monitoring intermittently a range of pixels. If the range matches the error screen that I mentioned previously then I'd call "Esc" to exit the full screen and then "F5" to refresh the browser and finally a double click on a specified coordinate to bring it back to full screen.
Problem: I've been doing some googling and so far have only seen related posts where the comparison is between two saved images. Due to this I expect the answer to be "Take a screenshot every now and then, compare, return result".
i use ar-SA culture in my app and the date appeared correctly then i save this date to db and i look at the db i found it in English format how to save in the format like it was appeared in my form ?
View 1 RepliesIn class i saved my program in with load of other test programs for the same assignment and got everything mixed up i finally figured out what was what and loaded the program in Visual Basic. Now my program doesn't recognize one of my forms when i try to access the design view of it. I hit run for the hell of it and the program runs with errors of course but the form1 "the missing one" shows up with all the buttons etc and i can use it.
Heres the link to the files. [URL]
I have this program that is suppose to take the path I provide it and use it to save an image to my access database. But it keeps giving me ""Syntax error in Insert Into Statement." error message.
View 2 RepliesI wanted to make a screen recorder (not screen capture) program, but I am not entirely sure how to get it started. I have seen many videos and things on how to make one, but all of these just take multiple pictures and then don't compile them into a movie file, and I don't want to take many pictures (unless that is the only way possible.) I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express and I have looked at the Windows Media Encoder, but I can't seem to figure out how to use/implement it (yes, I have downloaded and installed it.) Maybe I can use some kind of ActiveX control?
View 3 Repliesit's just for a program registration. i would store all of the registration codes in the access database, then export it to XML, then upload it to my web host. I would then somehow connect it to my Visual Basics login form (Which I have already made). If this can't be done, having them register through the form and having all the allowed codes on the internet (So i can easily edit them)!

i want to take a printscreen at my application when a msgbox it's in foreground..When the programs get into a catch block, i display a msgbox with the error to the user, and the user must click yes or no to send the info to the database..BUt to send the info to the database i need to take a printscreen to the error message with all info of what the user was doing in my program...
If i use a different thread to show the messagebox i only get the image of the messagebox, if i use the same thread i can't take the picture (if i can i don't know how).So i need some help to take a picture to the messagebox with my program in background and then wait for user response to the messagebox.
can you write me code of data storage?for example: I want to saved the data through textboxes when the program does not work.
View 2 RepliesI am attempting to send the PrintScreen key, obviously, which ought to work no matter the window it is focused on. How can I make this trigger the printscreen action like it normally would? This is in VB.net. I have googled this, and couldn't find any results that worked.
View 1 RepliesI am writting an application and I used Wizard to create DataSets which auto-created their own xml code. This code uses the saved in My.Settings Connection String. Being a setting with an unchangable 'Application' scope i cannot change its value at runtime.
The problem is that when I install the Application to my customer the Connection String will have to change (maybe more than once). So is there a way to change the Connection String used by these objects at runtime ?
I wanted to make a program in which multiple files could be saved into one and then unpacked later. I tried reading and then rewriting the exact strings but it made the files corrupt. I was able to do it with bytes but I'm not sure how I add mutiple files together.

View 2 RepliesThis always happens to me in Visual Basic. Whenever I save a project from one day and open it again using that same VB version the next day, I can never see the form design. But if I click on Debug, I can see the Form design and only use it as if it were a program.
View 1 RepliesIs the StartUp form of a program saved in a variable (i.e. from the name space My) ? I guess I can catch it during startup by using an Object Type variable during Load time , but I wonder if it is already defined anywhere else .
