Multiply Textboxes Saved As One Txt File
Apr 18, 2012if i had say 10 labels with 10 textboxes how would i save all those labels accosiated with that text box as one text file
say example
label = name ---- textbox1
label2 =surname ---- textbox2
label3 address ---- textbox3
etc
so in the text file it saves it to look like this
name = hayden
surname = doh
address = johnston hwy

I have a program that has over 100 labels and over 40 textboxes. I was using the code below to save the text. However, when I open it, some of the text is in the wrong spot (for a label or textbox) and some of the text that shouldn't have been saved is. Is there a way that I can get all these labels' and textboxes' data saved? I would like to stick to the code somewhat if thats possible. I may be looking in the wrong direction too as I am very new. Thank you.

Vb2008 Program - Textboxes To Keep The Data In Them Till The Next Time Run It
Apr 11, 2010When i run the program everything works fine. I want the textboxes to keep the data in them till the next time i run it. Right now when i shut it down (with data in the textboxes) then start it up i have lost all the data.

Program Files Are All Mixed Up - In Class Saved Program In With Load Of Other Test Programs For The Same Assignment
Jan 8, 2010In class i saved my program in with load of other test programs for the same assignment and got everything mixed up i finally figured out what was what and loaded the program in Visual Basic. Now my program doesn't recognize one of my forms when i try to access the design view of it. I hit run for the hell of it and the program runs with errors of course but the form1 "the missing one" shows up with all the buttons etc and i can use it.

Get Code To Work To Populate Textboxes And Datagrids?
Feb 15, 2012I am creating a form application that should display information from one dataset into individual textboxes (ie. system name, system id, location name, location id). The textboxes populate upon the selection of a pair of cascading combo boxes. So, the user first selects a system name from the first combobox, then that selection will populate the second combo box for the locations of that system. (This means that each system may have more than one location.) Once the location is selected, each of the 4 textbox should populate with the corresponding data but I'm not quite sure how to write the code..

Saving Replicated Data - Current Data Saved To Appear In Page Within All The Relevant Fields?
Jun 2, 2010What I am trying tot achieve is the following:User inputs data in one form that saves to the dataset table no problems. On an edit screen I want the current data saved to appear in this page within all the relevant fields but when saving I want this data to add to the dataset table as an additional line of data so the transaction records are kept.I want to add a new datarow regardless of it saving one change or all 7 changes that are possble.
e.g. Line 1 - user inputs 7 cells of data Line 2 - user amends 2 cells of data Line 3 - user amends 1 cell of data an so on. Unfortunately the terminology for certain items above may not be correct as I am still new to this programming and still on a massive learning curve.At the moment I do not have the code for what I am trying to achieve as I really dont know where to start with it.I am currently able to save the data and have it appear in the "edit" panel however only the cells changed are saved an it overwirtes the initial input.

Change Connection String Saved In My.Settings In Program?
Jan 30, 2012I am writting an application and I used Wizard to create DataSets which auto-created their own xml code. This code uses the saved in My.Settings Connection String. Being a setting with an unchangable 'Application' scope i cannot change its value at runtime.
The problem is that when I install the Application to my customer the Connection String will have to change (maybe more than once). So is there a way to change the Connection String used by these objects at runtime ?

Dec 22, 2009Using VB 2008 Express, I've constructed a simple database type app for saving contacts. The table data I save at design time is always saved correctly but data entered at run time seems to get saved even after closing the app and VB. However, after restarting the computer, the newly entered data is usually gone. Why would this be? I've seen a few video tutorials on creating simple database apps and did everything they did and am getting the same problem. I thought it was a configuration problem so I actually re-installed Windows and VB 2008 Express (as well as 2010 Beta 2). I have noticed that in the database explorer, the .mdf file has a red x to the bottom right of the yellow database icon and when I click the + it seems to turn into a black plug. Is this normal?
