VS 2010 Comparing Cells In Two Datatables?

I am wondering if there is a easy way of comparing data in two datatables available in following format:
datatable1
Quote:
ID Length Width Height Qty Rate
ID1 1.50 3.50 1.15 10 55
ID2 2.50 3.50 1.25 20 65
ID3 3.50 3.50 1.35 30 75

ID column of both the tables are unique ID's and can be used for comparing both the databtables.
I am wondering based on these ID's, both the datatables can be compared.
For example, if datatable 1 is used as reference table, data in ID2 and ID5 of datatable2 are different when compared in datatable 1

I have a DataTable and want to connect the cells of one of its columns to cells in some other DataTables.
For example:
DataTable1.Rows(0).Item(2) is connected to DataTable2.Rows(4).Item(6)
DataTable1.Rows(1).Item(2) is connected to DataTable4.Rows(2).Item(3)
DataTable1.Rows(2).Item(2) is connected to DataTable3.Rows(11).Item(4)
...
How can I do this?

I'm current in college and working on some computing coursework and putting the finishing touches on it when i stumbled across a bit of a problem.I'm trying to compare two cells in a database and i use datagridview to display the database in my form. The database is created by sql commands within my actual program if that makes any difference. What i have created for my coursework is a program that manages the stock and such for a small music shop and in the stock table im trying to compare values in two different collumns, but in the same rows. I need it to display a message box in the event that the value in the one cell is less than the other, which is basically checking if the stock for a certain CD has fallen below the reorder level.

I'm having a hard time joining 2 datatables and have the joined datatable as result. First datatable (labels) holds data including a printerid. Second datatable (printers) holds printer references (id > unc). i have imported some data from excel and into datagridview but does anybody know the code to compare data in 2 columns to see if they are equal and if they are not equal a messagebox would show "there are errors" else it would show "there is no error, you may continue".
the attached file is an example of the excel data i imported to datagridview.

For the past day or so, I have been trying to compare values in my SQL server against an actual calendar. I have had mixed luck with this and I have exhausted my limited knowledge. I am looking for a shove in the right direction.
Background:Right now, I have a program that writes a record to a database when the program completes successfully. This time stamp has both the date and time on the SQL box. All that is happening above is two players are being compared by scores and a winner is then decided. The calculation works fine and places the winner in the correct spot (txtWinner1.Text) as long as the numbers are positive. So if txtU1D.Text has 13 and txtU2D.Text has 14...txtU2 is the winner. Works with no problems. However, if txtU1 has -1 and txtU2 has -2...it says txtU2 is the winner. The negative scores are common in the game being played so the situation often happens, but may be one player only. It seems to work if one is positive and one is negative, but if both are negative it thinks the higher negative number is the winner for some reason. So it will give the win to someone who has -9 over someone who is -4.

We publish official documentation into pdf's, tiffs, and cals depending on the document type. Recently, we have discovered that somewhere in our publishing process, the system can hiccup and cause a character or two to become missing. It's intermittent and not consistent. We have a fix for it, but unfortunately have hundreds of thousands already published in the repository. It was brought up that we may want to consider developing a batch comparison tool that would compare a newly published version to the original published version to identify the problem documents. There was multiple thoughts on how to do this:
1.) Compare file sizes... unfortunately, any variation will cause the sizes to vary and small variations may not accurately reflect in it.
2.) Binary comparison... not sure how this would work at a file level like this
3.) Hash MD5 Compare... not sure how this would work either.
So I thought I'd ask those out there with some similar experience, what is the best way using the .Net Framework to compare one tiff to another, one pdf to another, and one cal to another?

I have a program that backs-up remote locations to a centralized FTP server. Upon successful completion, a record is written to a SQL database with the following information:
GUID (uniqueidentifier)
StoreID (varchar(5))
DateStamp (sqldatetime)
ProgramAndVersion(varchar(50))
I am currently managing the program by running a report on who has written a record to the database. If the record is not written, I manually go in and backup the necessary files.The problem with this, is that it can take up to 30 minutes/day to do this task. While that's not a long time, it's getting somebody to be dedicated when I'm off and that has proven to be difficult.
I want the program to automatically search for missing records, but I'm not sure how to do this. I was thinking about bringing in the last 30 days with a SELECT statement and then comparing the information that I have in the SQL database versus a calendar control (or something). I need to make this process completely automated and not very intensive on the SQL server. I only have the following

My main goal is to have an excel spreadsheet that automatically plots the overall success of my stock portfolio over time (% change over time). I've been able to incorporate stock data into my spreadsheet by linking it to the web, but the trouble is the spreadsheet will keep no history of what the previous stock values were, so I can't graph how things change over time. This sounds like it might be too complicated to be built in to excel, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to program this in Visual Basic. Maybe something like this.... If refresh then new cell plus new time stamp. Another possibility would be to have a whole bunch of cells that refresh only once but at longer and longer intervals, e.g.,

how to compare two list boxes and remove identical values or add them to a 3rd list box, but for some reason it's not working when I retrieve the data from a mySQL database using ADODB, here's my work cut down by a fair bit for it to be easy to understand.

My Visual Basic .Net 2010 application reads data from an EXCEL spreadsheet which will be generated by my "customers". The responses to Alkis last year (23 July 2011) has been a big help and got me over a hump in my application. Now I am down to the last issue - how do I detect a blank cell? Valid data is numeric, starts at a fixed cell (A5 to be specific), and will be continuous until it ends with blank cells. While blank cells appear to print a "zero", when I try to use zero as an end criteria I get a 'System.InvalidCastException'. When I put in a specific end value (-1) in the last cell all works fine but that, of course, is an invitation to a user error.What is the difference between "Value" and "Value2" and where might I find documentation that explains the difference? I'm writing a report scheduler that is somewhat of a clone to the backupexec scheduler and the layout can be seen in post #10 here: [URL]..It works great and saves/edits/deletes records just fine, but now i need to compare those records one at a time in a windows service that i'm writing in order to trigger automated report creation and emailing - i already have the report and i already have the code for the emailing, i'm just looking for the most efficient way to loop through the table (that i've pulled in to a dataset) and compare its records with the current date and time - if true, the event fires.

I have a specific image that I want my application to look for on a specific window. I've done something similar to this along time ago with VB6, but it was slow, and it was checking for specific points in the picture rather than the whole image itself (for speed reasons). I named this image "Image1.jpg" and I want to compare it to the window with the handle "001C08F2" and class "SunAwtCanvas"

I'm trying to create a program that will merge two data tables (one from a database on a network drive, the other is found in a database on the local machine). Each datatable is identical in structure, only (maybe) differs in content. The structure has a primary key, dateCreated, and dateLastEdited fields (plus other fields). I would like to merge down from the network to the local database. If the primary key does not exist on the local db but does on the network, copy from the network db to the local table. If it does exist, check the dateLastEdited column and copy the latest row to the local table.
How would i set up the code to do this? Any assistance would be great.

I need to marge two datatables with condition. I have a datatable where the data comes from a local XML Database and another datatable where the data comes from a remote SQL Server. If any update made in the remote datatable I need to update/merge with the local datatable. Here is what I have so far:

I have two datatables which I intends to bind them to Gridview. But I need bit of the first dt and bit from second dt.
Second table has only one row that represents to every row in the same column in first table.
There is no primary key or relationship between two tables though.

I have a Main Table that contains all the distinct values in a DataTable.DataColumn. also have a Child Table that contains distinct values created by the user.I want to merge the Child Table DataRows that match on the Value column with theMain Table DataRows to create the New Table (shown below).I want to preserve the values in the Selected column of the Child Table.Here is my problem, if I use the DataTable.Merge method the DataRow that contains "888" in the Child Table is added to the New Table, but it doesn't contain a RowState = Added, thus I can't filter for added rows to remove them.

I am using VB Express 2008 and SQL Server Express 2008.I have one DataGridView on a Windows Form, which I am attempting to populate from two datatables. Both tables are identical in structure, but with data from two different dates. The respective SELECT statements are identical, except for the date; one calls for yesterday, one for today. I need a seperate Sum column from each table.I've tried to JOIN, UNION, and MERGE the tables, but that gives me all the data consecutively and I saw no way to seperate the days.
