Here are quick scenarios: there are two chkbox columns "Parent" and "Child" In the Parent Column, you're only allowed to choose ONE chkbox AND the chosen chkbox in the PARENT shouldn't be available to check in the CHILD chkbox, while in the child you're allowed to choose as many as you want.
The selected records (checked chkboxes) should be transfered in the database after clicking the Consolidate Button.

View 4 RepliesI have a dgv with 5 columns (combos) added with the wizard, then in the form constructor i set the datasource, value member, displaymember and datapropertyname for each one, after this i fill the main data table and set the dgv datasource with it.If i just do this and don't use the display index, the columns show in an wired order, doesn't show up like i defined in the wizard neither in the order of the sql statement.

I have a form containing a datagridview and a groupbox containing 2 radiobuttons.If radiobutton 1 is selected only the order headers are shown.If radiobutton 2 is selected only the orderlines are shown.There also is a button called "show". When clicked the dgv gets filled with data.When I first select radiobutton 2 (orderlines) and I press the show button the columns in the DGV are in the right order (as shown in the code "strview").If I select radiobutton 1 still the columns are in the right order.HOWEVER...when I now select radiobutton 2 the order of the columns get all messed up.

View 4 RepliesI'm afraid this is a very simple question, but I can't figure it out... I hardly ever use the DataGridView (usually use a third party grid) so I never needed to do this before.Anyway, I have a DataGridView that is data-bound to a List(Of SomeClass). The grid is not ReadOnly, but I made every column ReadOnly except the very first, which is a boolean column so it displays a checkbox. This way, the user cannot edit any cell value, but he can check/uncheck the checkbox in the first column.
What I need now basically is an event that is raised when the user (not programmatically) changes the value of this checkbox. I also need to be able to retrieve the bound item from that event (from the row number I think?) but that should be no problem, I hope.Anyway, there's a bunch of events that looked promising but all have something I don't want:
1. CellBeginEdit - Fires before the checkbox value has changed, so can't use this.
2. CellEndEdit - Only fires after the edited row loses focus. I want to save it back to the database as soon as the user changes the checkbox value!
3. CellValueChanged - Same problem as nr 2.
I'm sure it must be possible for me to react as soon as the user changes the value of the checkbox? How can I do this?
In my application I read data (using data binding) from an Excel spreadsheet into a DataGridView. This works, but the data columns contain text fields (strings). I would like to set the data type for some columns to "Date" and Decimal. I cant do this on the DataGridView (error: cant change properties for data-bound stuff) and I cant figure out how to do it on the dataset or data-table that I bind to the DataGridView.The following is the code I use to read and bind the data:

I have a database of more than a 100 columns, what I would like to do is to be able when I do my search query, is to be able to choose using checkboxes which data I want to appear in my result table. For example, I have master datas (name, adresses, registration, ...) and financial datas (returns, ranking, ...) and I would like to be able to have either one of these two datasets or both of them in my result table. I'm assuming that I need to use "IF" sentences (if checkbox1 is true then...) but I have been struggling integrating my sql queries in VBA. how to implement this minor thing?

I have a tbl called tblProjectpatients which also has 2 fields Yes and No (these have the data type - Bit). These two fields have been populated with false and true values. On my form, I have a datagridview which is populated with various values from tblProjectpatients. The problem am facing is that the checkbox's for Yes and No on the datagridview are empty at runtime eventhough at the backend they have either False or True values. I am expecting the checkbox showing on the datagridview to be either checked or Not Checked depending on the True or false values.
