I want to make an internet checker , but I don't know what's the problem with this PinvokeStackImbalance. Actually, the code was made for Visual Basic 2008, But I`m using Visual Basic 2010.
WebTest = CBool(InternetGetConnectedState(dwflags, 0&))
Where's the problem? Btw, it's a module.

I really need help with this. I am trying to call a fortran DLL from VB.NET program. The program works fine untill it reaches the end of the DLL program where, instead of transferring the control back to the calling program the message " PinvokeStackImbalance error" is displayed and program halts. If I turn off pInvokeStackImbalance from the Debug menu, then the program will compile without problem. However, the .EXE program crash after the DLL call. Does anybody where the problem is. following the VB.Net program that calls the fortran DLL:
Private
Declare Sub
WIDTH_SUB Lib

he Just trying to figure out some mouse Control Functions, I got it sort of working.the program run's, and does what it's meant to do, but then it crashes with a PInvokeStackImbalance error. [code] I just shortened the Code because there were a lot of Sub's that were not part of the problem, now it's easier to read.and If you haven't seen my other post it's NET version 4.0 in VS 2010

This code worked fine in WinForms under .NET 3.5, but since I've started using WPF and .NET 4.0, it no longer works (although I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not). The purpose of this is to detect if a mouse button (or multiple mouse buttons) is being pressed outside of the application.[code]...

In VS2010 I'm encountering a PInvokeStackImbalance error when I call an unmanaged C function that takes a string argument. This only happens in VS2010 (works fine in earlier versions of vs). I know the MDA is more strict in VS2010 but I can't seem to figure out what the actual problem is.

This is the message that I'm getting out of a program I'm writing.
InvalidApartmentStateChange was detected
Message: The current thread used to have an apartment state of MTA, but the application has CoUnitialized this thread and it is now STA. This may cause calls on RuntimeCallableWrappers representing some COM components to fail and may also cause COM component that are not multi-threaded to be accessed from multiple threads at the same time which can cause corruption or data loss.The current program structure is UI buttons that activate a BackGroundWorker object to do the processing and display progress in a progressBar.The only thing I seem to have added (as in I disable the code and it works fine) is code to print two reports.To sum up, I'm in the backgroundWorker thread, and I kick off an event "PrinterDoc1.Print()" which I've handled (there doesn't seem to be much flexibility on using an event for that), then later on in the backgroundWorker thread this error shows up pointing to the invocation of a delegate which updates a label on my form.

I'm using an AutoDesk Inventor View API (dont think it matters for this question) placed on my form. I can call files and have them open without issue, only when I open assemblies (drawing files) I get this error:
"LoaderLock was : Attempting managed execution inside OS Loader Lock. Do not attempt to run managed code inside a DllMain or image initialization function since doing so can cause the application to hang."
I dont expect anyone to know much about the API, however I assume this is a common error.

I recently revised a VB ListView and removed one column of data, and failed to spot an If ... Then reference to data in the removed column. The code runs without the 'impossible' SubItem query being detected in my W7-64 desktop IDE, but crashes in the compiled/ installed version. In my older XP-32 laptop however the code error is trapped as it should be. I have noticed occasionally that other minor code errors are not trapped in the W7-64 system - is that normal, or has my W7 IDE been damaged somehow? Should I delete and re-install VS 2010 in the W7 machine ... not a trivial task!

why I am getting the following error? I have debugging enabled.Server Error in '/' Application.A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (strContent="<p>test</p>").
Description: Request Validation has detected a potentially dangerous client input value, and processing of the request has been aborted. This value may indicate an attempt to compromise the security of your application, such as a cross-site scripting attack. You can disable request validation by setting validateRequest=false in the Page directive or in the configuration section. However, it is strongly recommended that your application explicitly check all inputs in this case.
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpRequestValidationException: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (strContent="<p>
test</p>
").
Source Error: The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:
1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:
<%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>
or:
2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:
<configuration>
<system.web>
<compilation debug="true"/>

I've written my own program to assist other engineers with their work at my company. Some people have been able to install the program with no problems, others can't seem to get it installed and I'm having trouble figuring out why. They install .Net Framework 4 as this is the Target framework that was setup in the file, although I don't think I fully utilize all the features yet and not sure when I will. I will post the portion of the log that contains the error. If anyone decode some of this so I can track down the problem. I'm not sure if downgrading the necessary version of .Net would work or not, but didn't want to be changing that unless there was a good reason too.

TGMUWebcamTool.Form1 :: SendMessage has unbalanced the stack charged. This is probably due to the PInvoke signature does not match with guidance to the target signature without guidance. Make sure the call convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target signature without guidance.this is the line:
If SendMessage(hHwnd, WM_CAP_DRIVER_CONNECT, iDevice, 0) Then
on google some people said it was a problem with this:
Declare Function SendMessage Lib "user32" Alias "SendMessageA" (ByVal hwnd As Integer, ByVal wMsg As Integer, ByVal wParam As Integer, ByVal lParam As Object) As Integer Is it old?

In one of the libraries of the project that controls context menus, I get pInvokeStackImbalance MDA alerts on the line:

My Intent:I am developing an application for myself which will take a series of keycodes pressed by me(even if my program is not in focus) and execute commands associated with it.It is basically like developing hotkeys.What I Have Tried:I have searched well and tried to implement GetasyncKeyState() in my program and it works well....but the problem is, it tells if a certain key is pressed but not which key was pressed last, which is what I want........I need to know which key was pressed so that I can make a word out of it and check if it equals my predefined names to execute the command, something like this:
Dim word = lastkey
word = word + lastkey
if (word = "startnotepad")

If CheckBox_StartHotkey.Checked = True Then
If Not ComboBox_StartHotkey.Text = Nothing Then
Dim StartHotKey As Boolean
StartHotKey = GetAsyncKeyState(ComboBox_StartHotkey.Text)
If StartHotKey = True Then
StartActions()
[Code]...
I am trying to input the function key that a user has selected from a ComboBox (containing the function keys F1~F12 as options) into the GetAsyncKeyState(). However, since the ComboBox_StartHotkey.Text is a string, it cannot be converted into Long data type needed for the GetAsyncKeyState() function. I have tried Conversion and Parse Methods but what I try doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to effectively convert a String (such as F6) into a Long data type for using in the GetAsyncKeyState() function in this case?
I used the tried to use the ItemData property to hold the Key Code representing the Function Key.
