Mouse Control Functions / Crashes With A PInvokeStackImbalance Error
Oct 5, 2011
he Just trying to figure out some mouse Control Functions, I got it sort of working.the program run's, and does what it's meant to do, but then it crashes with a PInvokeStackImbalance error. [code] I just shortened the Code because there were a lot of Sub's that were not part of the problem, now it's easier to read.and If you haven't seen my other post it's NET version 4.0 in VS 2010

I am testing this on Win 7 Ultimate and it generates an error: PInvokeStackImbalance was detected Message: A call to PInvoke function'WindowsApplication1!WindowsApplication1.Form1::GetProductInfo' has unbalanced the stack. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature. Check that the calling convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target unmanaged signature.

I really need help with this. I am trying to call a fortran DLL from VB.NET program. The program works fine untill it reaches the end of the DLL program where, instead of transferring the control back to the calling program the message " PinvokeStackImbalance error" is displayed and program halts. If I turn off pInvokeStackImbalance from the Debug menu, then the program will compile without problem. However, the .EXE program crash after the DLL call. Does anybody where the problem is. following the VB.Net program that calls the fortran DLL:
Private
Declare Sub
WIDTH_SUB Lib

In VS2010 I'm encountering a PInvokeStackImbalance error when I call an unmanaged C function that takes a string argument. This only happens in VS2010 (works fine in earlier versions of vs). I know the MDA is more strict in VS2010 but I can't seem to figure out what the actual problem is.

I've had an app running without problem for a few months now. When the app crashed it would pop up a message where I could look at the error message to determine why it crashed. After a recent Windows 2003 update, when the app crashes it no longer pops up the message, writes to any log or appears in the event viewer so I have no idea now why it's crashing. Is there a way to determine what is going on that would help me see why my app is crashing?

I have a strange issue with a Web Browser control on a form. The application I made is nothing more than a form with a tab container and each tab navigates to an intranet web page. One of the tabs is directed to a documentation site that allows users to view machine documentation (parts lists, PDF files, electrical/hydraulic prints, etc.). Everything works fine on XP, but on 7, the application crashes when trying to view electrical prints (DWF files). If the site is opened in internet explorer, the DWF files open as intended. The computers have the Autodesk DWF viewer plugin installed (V 6.0). I need to somehow direct my application to the DWF plugin?

I have an application that I have built that used a winsock control to send commands and receive data from a wafer map program. I have been converting the winsock to use the built in sockets in .net and so far things have been going fine. I have been able to get it to connect and send out a command to the wafer map. Yet I have having a troubling error that I can't resolve.

Apologies as this has probably been answered a million different times a million different ways already. I'm trying to control the mouse. I wish to move the mouse to a given pixel position (x, y) and cause a click. I don't want this to be limited within a form, as I want to control another application. I'm using VB 2005.

I have set the controls mouse enter and mouse leave events. My problem is that the mouse leave event fires if I mouse over any of the child controls (like the name box for example).What I need is for the mouse leave event to fire when my mouse leaves the entire control, rather than firing when I mouse over any of the child controls. Here are the events as I have them so far:
Private Sub DeliveryControl_MouseEnter(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseEnter
Me.removeImage.Visible = True
End Sub

I've created a form that has a timer control. When this form loads it counts down before running a procedure. Simple.
Now I want to subclass this form in a new VB.NET project to so that another form inherits this form (an it's timer functionality) and runs a different procedure on this new form.My problem is that when I create the form in my new project the timer from the parent form seems to be running and when it's time is up it runs and code and crashes the VS environment.
I've searched high and low but have only found references to making sure the timer is disabled at design time. I've done this on the parent form but in this parent form's Load event the timer is enabled.... the purpose of the form. So when the child form loads it is enabling the timer. How can I work around this? Can I enable the timer from the child form? Timer is not visible when the child form loads so how do I manipulate it?

whenever my program crashes at college, an error message pops up in a window which tells me why the program crashed and points to the line of code which made the program crash. I have recently taken the program home to finish on my own computer but now whenever it crashes nothing pops up to tell me why it has just crashed.

everytime when i run my project all goes fine but when i press Start it asks me to select webcam source if i select one and press OK i get a error:A call to PInvoke function TGMUWebcamTool! TGMUWebcamTool.Form1 :: SendMessage has unbalanced the stack charged. This is probably due to the PInvoke signature does not match with guidance to the target signature without guidance. Make sure the call convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target signature without guidance.this is the line:
If SendMessage(hHwnd, WM_CAP_DRIVER_CONNECT, iDevice, 0) Then
on google some people said it was a problem with this:
Declare Function SendMessage Lib "user32" Alias "SendMessageA" (ByVal hwnd As Integer, ByVal wMsg As Integer, ByVal wParam As Integer, ByVal lParam As Object) As Integer Is it old?

I have a project I'm updating to Framework 4. It's not originally my project, I have inherited it from a former colleague, so I'm not completely up to speed with it yet.
In one of the libraries of the project that controls context menus, I get pInvokeStackImbalance MDA alerts on the line:
Dim c As Color = Color.FromArgb(GetSysColor(COLOR_MENUBAR))

I want to make an internet checker , but I don't know what's the problem with this PinvokeStackImbalance. Actually, the code was made for Visual Basic 2008, But I`m using Visual Basic 2010.
WebTest = CBool(InternetGetConnectedState(dwflags, 0&))
Where's the problem? Btw, it's a module.

I've been working on learning VB.Net from VB6 and for some reason when I use On Error Goto handlers, or On Error Resume Next the program still procs an exception and ask to continue or close.I don't really understand what I am missing, everything I've read said it's the same as VB6 with a few extra options.

Hint: this one might sound complicated, because I am trying to give as much info as possible, but I suspect that I just want someone to tell me "yes, you are correct".On this legacy system, which dates from 2002, the user visits a web page and uses an RFID reader to read a tag number, which is then written to an input field on the web page.
The only s/w that comes with the reader is a custom DLL, nop .exe. The very sparse documentation insists that only MSIE be used and that all security relating to ActiveX be disabled.When I look into the source of the web page I see calls to functions in the DLL.Now, here's the fun part: I know zilch about ActiveX, I have to make a minor change to the DLL _but_ the VB6 source code has been lost, so I guess that I have to recreate the (seemingly very simple) DLL from scratch - this week.
Decompiling the DLL shows me the functions (locateReader, getTagVal, closeReader). However, by decompiling I can't really know the number or type of the parameters, nor the return values ... and if anyone knows the API they are refusing to share it, but basically it all seems to have been lost in the mists of time as companies went bust, were bought & sold, merged & demerged and the initial DLL might have been written by an external guy, but no one knows who.So, can I get the function params & type from the ASP page source?I see things like
Reader = new ActiveXObject("<dllName>.Reader");
Reader.locateReader();
tagVal = Reader.getTagVal();
Reader.closeReader();
I would say that none of the fn()s take parameters, that closeReader doesn't have to return anything; it looks like locateReader doesn't return anything either, so I guess that error handling will have to be in the DLL (loop forever with a popup demanding that a reader be attached; and getTagVal seems to return a string.

Scenario: Every page on the website will have a menu bar at the top consisting of a number of buttons. Some pages have the same amount of button that do the same thing (example redirect to a page) but some of the buttons depend on information currently on the page.Problem: I would like to be able to override the buttons on the control so that I could handle it per page. I was also thinking maybe it would be easier to use events and handle it that way instead. Are either of these approaches possible and if not is there an alternative?The code I currently have is below
In the aspx page
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
