WebBrowser Control Won't Execute Java Applet?
Jun 19, 2009In the process of upgrading one of our applications, it was decided that the users needed an image viewer. We already have a browser based application that does a great job at that task. Since a lot of time and effort was put into the browser based code, I really want to use our browser based viewer rather than write new code to do the same.So, I've added a WebBrowser control to a form and figured I will call our Java applet from there and not re-invent the wheel.

My timing is not right, and I want to be able to make it stable by determining when Java applet login object is in a ready state.

Oct 7, 2009I have a form with a web browser control on it, which opens a java 5.0 webpage. I would like the users to invoke the java console in order to perform debugging. I know this could be done by going to the control panel -> Java -> Advanced, but I am wanting to acheive something similar to tools -> sun java console in ie.the main reason for this is that the program runs as a kiosk, and only those with admin privilages would have access to the button.

Jun 4, 2010So here is what I have working: frmMain loads and detects the screen resolution. If the resolution is too low (below 1024x768) it tells the user to turn up the resolution.From here they can either click Yes(to open the display properties control panel)
or No to close the program.I have this working: clicking yes opens the control panel (desk.cpl).I need the program to wait until the user click OK/closes the display properties window; the control panel opens and frmMain continues to run instead of waiting.
This is what I'm doing so far:

What comes next in terms of pausing the program until the window closes?

Nov 9, 2011I have a strange issue with a Web Browser control on a form. The application I made is nothing more than a form with a tab container and each tab navigates to an intranet web page. One of the tabs is directed to a documentation site that allows users to view machine documentation (parts lists, PDF files, electrical/hydraulic prints, etc.). Everything works fine on XP, but on 7, the application crashes when trying to view electrical prints (DWF files). If the site is opened in internet explorer, the DWF files open as intended. The computers have the Autodesk DWF viewer plugin installed (V 6.0). I need to somehow direct my application to the DWF plugin?

Sep 7, 2011I've created a form that has a timer control. When this form loads it counts down before running a procedure. Simple.
Now I want to subclass this form in a new VB.NET project to so that another form inherits this form (an it's timer functionality) and runs a different procedure on this new form.My problem is that when I create the form in my new project the timer from the parent form seems to be running and when it's time is up it runs and code and crashes the VS environment.
I've searched high and low but have only found references to making sure the timer is disabled at design time. I've done this on the parent form but in this parent form's Load event the timer is enabled.... the purpose of the form. So when the child form loads it is enabling the timer. How can I work around this? Can I enable the timer from the child form? Timer is not visible when the child form loads so how do I manipulate it?

Dec 19, 2009I am trying to use the Web Browser control in my vb .net user control. I am using VS 2008. Finally, I will be calling my assembly (.dll) from a web page. I wanted to display the usercontrol with the web browser control inside this web page. The problem is I cannot proceed since the Web browser control cannot be called from a partially trusted assembly. Using VS 2008 I have created a strong name for my class, also added the <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> to the AssemblyInfo. But still the web browser control cannot be seen in my web page. Do you how I can make my assembly fully trusted so that it can access web browser control? If you have used web browser control, can you confirm if this step is really required?!

I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second.
