is it possible to run java while using a custom made web browser?what i mean by run java is when you play a game that is an applet, a jar file.Like runescape. When I try playing runescape with my browser, it dosen't let me, and says i don't have java. (the browser I made in VB)
View 3 RepliesI coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. Now Ican't minimize my program because I'm putting an automatic Sendkeys.send("{Enter}") after the refresh to get rid of that message by clicking on "Retry".And If I minimize it the Enter will be executed on the active Window, which might be any other Window.

I know this could be done by going to the control panel -> Java -> Advanced, but I am wanting to acheive something similar to tools -> sun java console in ie.the main reason for this is that the program runs as a kiosk, and only those with admin privilages would have access to the button.

I'm developing a solution that I'm going to split into two different directions.I've built custom controls for the first application, and now I'm creating a new solution where I'm importing all the Forms and Modules to the new solution I'm developing by using "Add Existing Item" from the Solution ExplorerWhen doing this, most of the errors I'm receiving I'm able to correct by "Find & Replace" with the new name of the new solution. Throughout testing I can verify that vbCrLf is being replaced with a space as expected. When I re-examine vTransaction the changes have not been retained and the vbCrlf's are still there. What do I need to do to retain the changes being made to values in vTransaction.
I am having Socket server, and I have two forms. One is the main form for the server and the other one is a custom made messagebox. When a request comes to the server the main form has to invoke the second form (messagebox). When the main form is open for the first time everything works fine. So I made a Listbox, and also a custom class called "Enemies". I used a Bindingsource to Bind "Enemies" to the Listbox. I downloaded this owner drawn custom control, which I built, then copied the DLL to the Debug folder of the project and loaded it into the toolbox from there.
I decided to use this button on another project. I was mildly surprised to see the control was still in the toolbox but it seemed to work just fine. I decided to change this custom button's behavior. The button in the toolbox referenced the old version number. So I deleted it and loaded the newly rebuilt DLL.
Now come the problems. The first application--the one where the DLL was added to the toolbox from--still runs okay, but the second application is throwing errors, saying, Type 'CButtonLib.CButton' is not defined. When I add the button to a form, it appears okay. I can change its properties and it shows up in the code windows and in the object browser. But as soon as I try to run it and it throws the errors, it no longer appears in the object browser. References in the code window lose their intellisense.
Things I've tried include:
Copying the DLL to the project's debug and release folders and loading them into the toolbox from there. Removing it from the toolbox altogether and just adding a reference then copying and pasting a button directly from the first project. Copying in a form with a CButton on it from the first project. Scouring the internet for answers Swearing at the computer.

I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second.
