When I start a web browser I made in VB.NET it starts off with a white page. I want when it starts for it to load up a certain page such as Google. I want to do this without using the home variable.

I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

I know it has something to do with accessing the registry and checking what the value is in some places, but I'm not quite sure. Now, I've made this browser called Nova;
very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. I'm almost ready to release the first version - but I just need this annoyance solved.

View 5 RepliesI have been searching a lot online but couldn't find a solution for my problem. I want it to refresh every certain interval of time without this message to display. Now Ican't minimize my program because I'm putting an automatic Sendkeys.send("{Enter}") after the refresh to get rid of that message by clicking on "Retry".And If I minimize it the Enter will be executed on the active Window, which might be any other Window.
I hope that you understand what I mean, If not, I will clarify more.

It has 14 date time pickers set to hours and minutes only in 24 hour format (1 on and 1 off per day), 7 checkboxes, 7 radio buttons, 2 textboxes to display day of the week and current time and a few buttons. View 6 RepliesI have a service that needs to run several independent processes, my problem is that it only creates up to 23, from the 24th and so on the processes are not started and a DW20.EXE window error is displayed, it only says that the there has been an unhandled exception and that the proceess is going to be closed. Inside the process.start block there is no error so I guess it could be some limitation somewhere.

View 2 RepliesI know similar questions have been asked/answered, but after looking across the net for 2 days I still haven't really seen an answer to the following question.rst, background info: My application starts at windows start as a user checkbox option (by using the run key in the registry.) I don't know if it is usual or not, but when the app auto starts on windows start, no saved user settings show up on the form (but they do when starting the program manually after windows is already running). I've tried both HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In case anyone needs or wants it, my code for accessing the registry is:

I'm having a problem that printing in VB.net where any network printer i choose is waiting untill the last page is spooled before printing begins. However i'm looking to have it begin printing after the first page. The printer is set to 'Start printing immediatly', and this is giving me huge problems as we're trying to print duplex documents that may be 75 ~ 100 pages long.

I have a splash screen just to test it to see if the program is working, and it is, but I have to wait for so long for the app to actually get to the start up form. A splash screen for this app isn't ideal, but was only using a splash screen for test purposes.

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

When switching to a new desktop it starts a new instance of my app in that desktop (works) and on the form load event it says process.start("explorer.exe") <- here is the problem. It only shows a window not the actually bar.Also this may be important it shows the window, but when I navigate to explorer.exe 'C:Windowsexplorer.exe' and open it there. The explorer bar does show up.
