MonthCalendar Week Numbers Incorrect?
Apr 6, 2011I would like to display week numbers in the MonthCalendar but the weeks numbers are not correct. ISO 8601 defines the Week as always starting with Monday and the first week is the week which contains the first Thursday of the calendar year. The MonthCalendar control does not follow this but starts week #1 on the week that Jan. 1st appears.Is there a way to set the first day of the year (like you can with the first day of the week)? I am using VS2008.

Feb 2, 2011I am in a VB 2010 class right now, and I'm suppose to write a program that requests the user's date of birth and then display the day of the week (such as Sunday, Monday, ect...) on which day they will have or had their 21st. Birthday.
I already have the GUI made up with a MaskedTextBox set to simple date and it is named = mtbDayOfBirth
I also have the button already to calculate this, and a read only text box named = txtBox2.
My code so far is:

The only thing in my book only talks about how to pull the number of days from your bday or pull the full birthday as like the 04/06/1992 would return Monday, April 06, 1992.

Either way, is it possible to control this behaviour, so that rows are either returned as references or as new rows?My guess is that all objects are returned as references by default, since that seems to be the normal behaviour in most programming languages.

I am trying to sort this by date desending but it will only sort by the day (dd) and not the whole date (dd/mm/yyyy) which leaves the months unsorted.

When I write as follows, it says week number is "1".

Why is it? I set FirstDayOfWeek as Monday, so week number of "1/2/2011(Sun)" Should be 52, right?
"1/2/2011(Sun)" is just an example.
I want general method to do:
1. First day of week is Monday.
2. First week of year is the first full week which stat with Monday.
3. The last week of year should contain dates before the first week of the next year(such as 1/1/2011(Sat), 1/2/2011(Sun))

Oct 14, 2011I have a ComboBox where I select which day of the week I want it to update. And each week at that day, at a predefined time as well I want it to add 1 to an integer. I want it to continue doing this until I stop it. When I close the program I want it to do a check on start up if it has past that set date and time, if it has it should add 1 to the integer again, if 2 weeks have past I want it to add 2 to the integer.

May 18, 2011I have this app written in VB.Net with winforms that shows some stats and pictures on a bigscreen monitor.I also monitor the memory usage of sad app by using this. Process.WorkingSet64
I know windows does not always report the correct usage but I just wanted to know if I didn't have any little memory leaks which I had but are solved now. But the first week the memory usage was around 100MB and the second week the memory usage showed around 50MB.
So why did it all of a sudden drop while still running the exact same code?I can hardly imagine that the garbage collector kicked in this late since the app refreshes every 10 seconds and it has ample time in between those periods to do it's thing.Or perhaps there is just better way to get memory usage for a process that is more reliable.

Mar 15, 2011Ok so i'm working on this project that requires me to imput a month and year which then will output the number of days in the selected month for you to select from, then determines what day of the week it is. The problem i'm having is that I cant get the month to the converted value that I need for it to work . Example: January will be the 13th month and february as the 14th of the previous year. Heres what i have so far if it helps. Aslo the code that I have to use to find the day of the week only works when the total is divided by 7, and then the value of the remainder is the day of the week with saturday =0, sunday=1, monday=2, and so on.
