VS 2010 Making A Transparent, Clickable Button OR Label?
Oct 28, 2011
First post here, so I have no clue if this is the right place to ask this or not, but it looked like it.
Anyways, what I'm trying to do as an exercise is make a roulette game. I decided it would be best to put my buttons ON the actual table itself, so that the player can click which one he wants to bet on, and it'll bring up an Input Box asking how much he wants to bet, and yeah.
So, I tossed a button on there, set the parent to the picturebox of the roulette table, set the back color to transparent, and got rid of the text. Lo and behold, it's transparent!
I monitor door cameras with a third party application that gives me multiple video windows for the various video inputs in the card. I want to create an application that will overlay the video windows so that each video window becomes a button I can click on to trigger some events (lock release for example).
I've managed to get something working by using the TransparencyKey of the form set to the backcolor of my button. I though I had it done, a great transparent button in the form, and handles all my click. However, there's a little issue with portability... it won't work if I have the Windows Classic theme enabled.
One of my systems is locked down with the windows classic theme. With the Windows classic theme (whether running XP or Vista), the transparency works a little too well, the mouse clicks actually go through to the underlying window and the click event never gets triggered on my application's button.
I want a clickable area (that can handle MouseClickEvent, DoubleClickEvent, etc...) that is transparent, hence you can look through it.For example: I have Form1 with a bunch of buttons, text fields, etc. I want a clickable area that is over the whole Form1 (thus over all the buttons, etc).If you click this area, the clickEvent for this area should be could and not the eg: button underneath this area. Most importantly of all the area must be transparent, thus all the buttons, textfields, etc underneath the clickable area should be visible. Something like a panel or pictureBox that you could put over the buttons would be fine, but a if you drag a panel/pictureBox over a button, the button is invisible, and if you say send to back, the event of the button will be called and not that of the clickable area.I want the blue area (in this case a picture box) over ALL the buttons and textboxes, so that if you click this blue area a function should be called. This area should actually not be blue, but transparent/colourless, so that you can see the buttons underneath. If I say send the picturebox behind the buttons, then when I click on a button, the button's function is called and not the picture box's function as I want it.It is impossible for me to change all the event handlers of the buttons/textboxes etc, because I also use components that don't have the necessary event handlers that I want.

I've search for hours on Google but could find a solution.want a clickable area (that can handle MouseClickEvent, DoubleClickEvent, etc...) that is transparent, hence you can look through it.For example:I have Form1 with a bunch of buttons, text fields, etc. I want a clickable area that is over the whole Form1 (thus over all the buttons, etc).If you click this area, the clickEvent for this area should be could and not the eg: button underneath this area. Most importantly of all the area must be transparent, thus all the buttons, textfields, etc underneath the clickable area should be visible. i'm working on Virtual K770i project - there is a picture of mobile, now i want to create clickable areas on "keypad" of mobile....I'm got idea about transparent label or something but transparency dont work on any object but Form1 - so how to make transparent clickable areas on picture box (see a picture)
I made a lot of letters, and I set all of thiers background color to Transpert. I STILL don't see any transperancy, because when I put "one letter on the other one", i can see thier background.
I've got a strange thing goin on here. I'm designing a small program with Visual Studio 2010 using WPF and VB.Net but for some reason, all my buttons and checkboxes (didn't test more items) aren't clickable anymore! Even if I drag a pretty new one out of the VS-Toolbox! They've got all "IsFocousable" and "IsHitTestVisible" and "IsEnabled"-Setting set to "True". Does someone has an idea to fix that!?
i'm trying to place a label with "backcolor = color.transparent" over a progressbar, but it seems that the progressbar becomes transparent too, how can i avoid this?
I know this may sound really difficult and annoying to complete but all i need is a form which has no borders at all, just some text floating topmost of all screen like a screensaver i tried adding a text but it still has a white background behind it and it looks like a sign instead of Floating Letters with no background at all also note that i dont want a form with a square border around it,because thats what it look like when i added form border style to none
Is there any way to embed a vb.net form to another vb.net form. What I am trying to do is to make Form-A semi-transparent and Form-B as the embedded main form. So that the final application has a semi transparent border around it . Also I don't want to use a MDI form.
Edit: How to make the border of a vb.net form semi-transparent without using MDI form.
I have a few pictureboxes that move and contain an image of a fish. When they overlap, I would like to be able to see one fish under the other fish.I have made the background (white) of the image transparent in photoshop and the background color of the form seems to show through the background of the fish image, but when 2 fish overlap, ones background covers up the other.
I have a rectangle that I dynamically draw in a Window. Said Window has a background with it's opacity set to 0.4. I'd like to make the area inside the rectangle completely transparent (see what's behind the window).
Here is the code of my Window : <Window x:Class="TakeAScreenzone" xmlns="[URL]" xmlns:x="[URL]" Title="PloofTAS" Height="355" Width="539" Topmost="True" [Code] .....
I have a userControl with a picturebox in it. I need the areas of the userControl to be transparent and unclickable on the main form. After some searching Ive come up with this. [URL] but it doesn't seem to work. I have it set up so the usercontrol can be drag-and-dropped. but I dont want transparent areas to be dragable.
I have a problem with 2 label, the background is not transparent, I set both BackColor = transparent, but nothing, they don't work. Both Label are located inside a panel, here is the picture so you can better understand:How can I do?
what shall i do if i want to make a label's backcolor transparent or even just looking like transparent? VB.NET doesn't support transparent label backcolor.
I searched the forums and most of the topics involving this seem to be for Compact Framework. I need a transparent text label which shows an object directly beneath it. In this case, a rectangle. (Visual Studio 2010) I noticed that when I set the label background to transparent it shows the form bg instead of anything between the label and the form. How can I work around this without setting my form background to an image? If I were to make a custom control for it, how would that be achieved?
I have the most problems and questions.I have a picturebox and a label on it ... how I can do label be transparent on picturebox ? If I choose at color "transparent" show me the color of the form...
I'm new to VB 2005. I've worked with VB5 for many years. I can't find anyway to make my text boxes and labels transparent in VB 2005 as I could in VB5(Backgrounds).
In the about use should be a label and a button. The label should tell about the program and have the name of the programmer and the button should hide the about us form. Here's my code:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub ExitToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ExitToolStripMenuItem.Click[code].....
I have successfully implemented a gradient function that makes my forms visually attractive. However, whatever I do I cannot make the labels or textboxes truly stransparent so that the forms colour (gradient) shows through.
I have a small picturebox(34x34 pixels) and want to have a transparent label(maybe 12x12 or 15x15 pixels) in the corner of it, which will be used as a counter.
I saw another forums suggesting adding the PictureBox as a parent to the Label, like this:
Label1.Parent = PictureBox1 Label1.BackColor = Color.Transparent But then the label just disappears, and no text is displayed.
I am working currently on a watermark maker and I would like to know how to make a label see through. For example a form can have opacity out of a houndred, so I'm asking how can I do something simular to this in visual basic.
I am using a picture box to load an animated gif as a background on top of my form (same size as the form). On top of that I have a standard label with some text. I have made the label background transparent but it doesn't display correctly with the animated picturebox behind it. The label background is transparent but it doesn't draw the animation correctly under it. It almost looks like it is drawing it at a few frames behind. Now, I know I can draw the text on the animated picturebox by hand (I have done that before) but I am not sure it is possible this time because the labels are part of custom controls.
I would like to set the label background to none where I could see the shockwave behind the label, but I couldn't be able to do that. How can I set label background to none so I would easily to see the shockwave?
