View 3 RepliesIs it possible to view client transaction requests and host response in a self hosted console window?
Front end client sends request to service
Service console displays requested data in console window and forwards to listening server
Server responds with data
Response is displayed in console window
I guess it would be displaying the traces in the console window.
I have set data into clipboard and I have assigned it some hot key e.g. ctrl+alt+d now I want is while the my application created in vb is running whenever I press the hotkeys my program will put the data into that active window by getting it from the clipboard.
View 2 Repliesi am trying to implement a very simple program, that simply copies some text from one window in to an appropriate text box field in the other window. I need to copy and paste about 50 pieces of information from one window in to another.I suppose i can load the entire SOURCE window's text in to a text box control, and then i want to use sendkeys to populate appropriate fields in the other DESTINATION window that i want to populate with this information. My guess is that i will need some kind of windows api (Win XP) to get a handle on the appropriate text boxes in the destination window (or tab through it or something)

View 11 RepliesHow can I increment numbers in a console window? I have code that is transferring a file from one place to another which is all working great. The console window output is a Console.Writeline("myapp.exe is working, please wait...") and Console.Write(percentComplete & "%"). I would like to increment the percentComplete. Is it possible to do that without clearing the consol window and writing these two lines again?

View 3 RepliesI am starting a Console (3rd party application) with a New Process in vb.net. I simply want to size the window when it loads. All the APIs have not worked, SetWindowPos, MoveWindow, etc... need to work in all versions of Windows. Anybody have solid code that does this?

View 14 RepliesIt sounds confusing but it's not really. What I need is basically a way to emulate the console style text, without using a console. What I'm really doing is trying to do a matrix effect on my form background, by drawing symbols and moving them, alternating their colors (see this video for what I mean).
Is there a way to do this effectively with a timer and a draw event, with the timer calling the draw event and changing the intervals?
Is there a way to programmatically change the font size of a console window? I know that you can right click on the window's button in the taskbar and click on properties.... but is there a way to do it on a per-application, per-use basis, and do it programmatically?
View 4 RepliesI've got an old dynamic link library that I'm using which was created primarily to be used in a console environment. As such it generally indicates what it's doing through Console.Write(). I've recently created a windows form which is using some of the functions from this library. I'd like to be able to grab the console output and place it in a textbox on my windows form so that the user can have some indication of the progress (right now it just says "Working").

I am using VB in VS 2008. I have written a program which loads data into SQL Server nightly. It is a Windows Forms application which runs well from Task Scheduler when a user is logged in. However when I try to run it when there is no user logged in, the program starts but it just sits idle.

View 11 RepliesI have both the VB and C# versions of Visual Studio 2008 Express. When I run a console application in either version, instead of the console opening in an old DOS style command window like it does in VS 2005, it actually blacks out both monitors attached to my computer and treats the entire screen real estate as the console.Anyone know how to get the app to run in a small command-type window when I run it? It's like the console is running Full Screen. If I set a break point, switch from the IDE t the console and then hit Alt+Enter it switches to the small window that I want, but I still can't figure out how to make the app start with the console that way.I could post a screenshot but it would look like a big black square...no window, no frame, just the inky blackness of frustration.

View 3 RepliesI am learning VB for the moment. I want to copy/paste code from a PDF to Visual Basic 2010 Exppress, but if i paste the (structured in PDF) code to VB, i get 1 long string of code and need to restructure it by entering after each line. Otherwise VB gives me a lot of errors. This is a time consuming work. Isn't there a way, VB puts the code in the right format?
View 4 RepliesI have a small copy/paste type of program. You put text in the boxes, click copy and it copies it to the clipboard. I have a text file attached to format the text when it is copied. what I want to accomplish is...If I don't fill in every single textbox with text, I don't want that particular field to show when I paste it. Example, I have the layout like below on the text document.
textbox1.
textbox2.
textbox3.
No matter what, when I click copy, the text document is going to copy textbox1,2,and 3. If I only put text in textbox 1 and 3, I don't want it to copy textbox2 if its empty.
