VS 2010 - Submitting HTML From Textbox Into MySQL Table
Oct 19, 2011
I am having a problem with submitting html from a textbox into a mysql table. I would believe this to be due to "special characters".
The code I am using is,
vb.net
Dim html = (sdata.Text.ToString)
Console.WriteLine(updateRecord("INSERT INTO course (tittle, length, begining, price, about, table) VALUES ('" & TextBox1.Text.ToString & "','" & TextBox2.Text.ToString & "','" & TextBox3.Text.ToString & "','" & TextBox4.Text.ToString & "','" & TextBox5.Text.ToString & "','" & html & "')"))
MsgBox("Success! You have Successfully created a new course, " & TextBox1.Text.ToString)
Me.Visible = False
The error I get is:
A first chance exception of type 'MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException' occurred in MySql.Data.dll
I have searched and searched but have not found code that worked for me. I need to get the data from a mysql db to my listview. I can already connect to the db, i just need the code to get the stuff from it to the listview.
Im trying to fumble my way through selecting data from a mysql table and populating it to a combo box. I feel Im almost there, could someone look over my code and see whats going wrong?
Private Sub ComboBox1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ComboBox1.SelectedIndexChanged Dim con As New MySqlConnection
I have been asked to try and create a tool that will take an HTML table from a .html file and convert the table into an image.I am not sure how to approach this. I have tried several examples on the web, but can't seem to get any to work, like convert from base64 string into a byte array, then into a memory stream, then to image. I have also tried to use a webrequest, but cant seem to get that to work, either.
Essentially what I'm trying to do is read a particular line of text from an integrated web browser (webbrowser1) into a textbox. The user will enter an id number into a textbox which will automatically search the online database search that will be open in webbrowser1. What I then want to do is read the resulting html text into particular textboxes.
My problem is with the tickets table, I have listed the user that created the ticket, the tech who will solve the ticket and a user that over sees the ticket. All three users reference the users table. So how do I can I query the tickets table and get all three users that reference the same table storing the users?
Table1: Tickets 1) Ticketnumber 2) EnteredBy User 100 3) Issue
[code]....
What I can do now is something like this:
Select Ticketnumber, EnteredBy, Issue, UserName FROM Tickets INNER JOIN Users ON Tickets.EnteredBy = Users.UserID
How can I update local dataset with mysql database without making duplicates. Assuming I set some column in mysql as primary key, which has unique string.
adapter.fill will just add duplicates, but adapter.clear before that is not an option.
So I want to update if the key column is the same with mysql data and if there is option for ignore adding new row.
I am using a string builder to set up an html table row by row so that it can be emailed. I currently gather my information from the database using a data reader and while dataReader.read, I use stringbuilder.Append to add each cell value to the table. The issue is that after about 200 rows, the html breaks and displays a cell value above the table in the email. I have tried changing the cell padding, but this was not successful.
I would like to print an HTML file that I am generating myself, but I want the pages to have the same table header at the start of each page. I think the best options to print an HTML file is the webbrowser control? but this won't give the table header at the start of each page (and I will have to contend with the ugly file://c:empfile.htm at the top of each page etc)
What i have going on, is i have a MySQL connector as a resource on my application, and im basically trying to connect to my MySQL server, to either a) register a new account, or b) check that the account exists and they are premium, and login, Now what i have run into problems with is: My MySQL Database Name has a _ in it which VB is not allowing for some strange reason.
The code i am using is below
Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient
Public Class Form1
Function UpdateRecord(ByVal query As String) As Integer
[CODE]...
How i can allow the _ into the application, because the only databases that don't have a _ in the user or dbname are a) Paid ones which i DO NOT have the money for or self hosted ones, i cannot leave my computer on 24/7
Here is my problem: I need to store HTML in a MySQL database. Afterwards, I need to be able to retrieve the HTML and have it be valid HTML that a browser can render.
How can I store HTML in a MySQL database using .Net? How do I retrieve it afterwards? As this is the design phase, I can create the database any way that is needed.
I have a html text file and I am trying to remove any HTML tags in tables, i.e. remove any HTML within THE <TABLE> and </TABLE> tags.
However, what's really weird is that the regex that I use, (?<=<table((?!</table).)*)<(?!/table)[^>]+>, works perfectly in PowerGREP or EditPad Pro, however, when applied in vb.NET (or Expresso) to the VERY SAME text, it does NOT work! I just use a simple replace method: newString = Regex.Replace(oldString, "(?<=<table((?!</table).)*)<(?!/table)[^>]+>", string.Empty, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase)?
I am trying to learn how I can enter data into a Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 TextBox on a form and when I Tab to the next TextBox, the data from the first TextBox is automatically appended to a Microsoft Access 2007 table. For this question, no other controls or objects are necessary.
I'm reading html tags from a webpage using Webbrowser and HtmlElementCollection class. Then I invoke specific members (link, buttons etc.) depending on their attributes.I got stuck at one point. The webpage has many similar images in one place. They can be distinguished only but a version number. I need to get this number somehow to be able to invoke the correct link/image.this is the example of the html code (it looks like that - I only removed personal imformation from it) - lets say I got it already saved in a textbox:
<TR> <TD>My text for label</TD> <TD>my text for description</TD> <TD>27 February 2011 12:12</TD>
[code]....
Now - I'm after the number 197 which appears couple of times in the code.I know what is the 'My text for label', 'my text for description' and 'my username'. Also those 3 links in form of images have always the same structure, apart from the number in question - number 197.How do I extract the 197 number alone ? If I would get it, I would use it to identify the link with ID: "id=snapshot_deploy_cms-company-3" and invoke it.Basically I want to do this:If a TR tag contains 'My text for label' and also contains 'my username', then read the number 197 and... say... save the number into a textbox.
I'm attempting to make an application which, upon entry of Amount to spend, Vendor, Employee, etc., a Purchase Order number is returned. My thought is that I'll simply let SQL pick the PO Number by setting it as an identity field. What I'm curious about, though, is how to directly query the database as opposed to using DataGridView or bound controls.Note that I have the following setup at this point.
still having problems with mysql... im trying to find out how i can you a for each statement when getting data from mysql table...i have a table with IP and Port fields in... i want to get each and every one of the ip's and use it...for each ip in heat table and then run my "query()" function how can i do this in vb.net?... i can get ALL ips and ports and put in a gridview but would like to use the ip and display the Game Server Data that my query() function gets...this is from a while back when i made my Game Server Browser and just tryiong to make a better way of keeping my ip and port data and mysql seams to be the best way as its online and it can be added to and edited as and when needed and no one has to "redownload" anything?
How to read per row in a table in mySQL as the database? i want each username when they login, they will go to their respective forms. Like for example, there are 3 users and each user have their different forms.h this. This is my code:
Dim conn As MySqlConnection Dim myCommand As New MySqlCommand Dim dr As MySqlDataReader
I have a textbox and a submit button. The textbox is a date-entry field. Attached to it, I have a compare validator with the type set to "date". It does validate and show an error message.
Problem is, the user can still click on the submit button. I'd like to prevent that. If the user has entered something like 03/hello/2011, he or she should not be able to submit the form.
My below code has to copy a table from access in to temp dataset and then i need to select some datas from the dataset... its workign fine up to copying in to dataset..but in the second part the query is not submitted.. im a beginner
