An action that I'm trying to automatically complete on a web page requires me to click "Yes" on a JavaScript alert box. Obviously the entire process cannot be automated unless the program clicks "Yes" or "No" for the user. Is there any way that I can capture this alert box and click "Yes" programmatically?

View 4 RepliesI am developing an Outlook 2007 VSTO application that works with a commercial website.Almost all of the app's interactions with the website are done using HttpRequest objects.One user scenario does require the app to open a browser to a specific page on the site, and that page requires a Post string to provide the results of a form submit.I am using the version of the WebBrowser control that ships with VS 2008, and specifically VB.Net.My code successfully goes to the first page, after which it navigates to the actual target page (once the first page is loaded).That works, too, but if I click on the desired link on the target page, a JavaScript error pops up, stating "'j.parentNode' is not an object", with a Code of 0.I do not have access t the commerical site's internals. The page and links in question, when accessed via IE or Firefox, work correctly without the JavaScript error. The page containing the link is using Flex.Is this a problem with the nWebBrowser control?

View 3 RepliesI know how to InvokeScript so my VB form can call a javascript function in the Webbrowser document, but does anyoe know how to do it the other way round - ie javascript calling a vb function in the containing form? Why do I want to do this? Well I've got a table of telephone conversations. Some conversations are longer than others and they look silly in a grid with fixed row height. So I put them in an html document and display them in the webbrowser control. There's a hyperlink on each subject title, and I'd like the hyperlink to open an 'edit conversation' dialog box in my app.

I am using a Webbrowser control to access the elements in an HTML page which contains a JavaScript link which when clicked, adds extra content to the page. This works fine in IE 7 and Firefox.I then want to access this extra content in my program. Having found the HTML element containing the link, I tried element.InvokeMember("click"). I have used this successfully with a submit-type link to login to the web site, but cannot get it to work with the JavaScript link. I also tried setting the focus to the link element and using SendKeys to send the ENTER key, but all to no avail. Nothing seems to happen. I don't see the extra content produced by the JavaScript, nor do I get an error.Here is an extract from the HTML, showing the relevant (I hope) code:

If I use IE I can visit the website I want and click the 'Next' button and life is good. If I open that same website using the webBrowser control and click the 'Next button I get a javascript error message.I'm not doing anything in the code to manipulate the website. My goal, eventually, is to have some level of automation; but at this point, I get the javascript error and a pop-up and it screws everything else.

View 1 RepliesMy VB.NET code is supposed to execute third party Javascript code in an attempt to fill in and submit a form. This process consists of five steps, and I have been able to submit the form when all the steps are kept separate (i.e. behind 5 separate consecutive button clicks). Now, what I'd like to have is one button to handle all the five steps.
The problem is that the form originally only appears after calling "webbrowser.Navigate" command, which apparently modifies the page's HTML code. I seem to be unable to detect when Javascript has finished loading the new HTML in order to fill and submit the form. I have tried a timer control to wait for a certain HTML element ID to appear, but in vain. [URL]
I have a sample application, in which I am trying to load a text file in WebBrowser control. I have a html file through which I am calling Javascript function to open text file. But it is showing me error like; Cannot find 'file:///C:/temp/test%2520page.txt'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct. File exist at this location and its name is; test page.txt. I am not getting what is happening.

I have searched all over the place in an attempt to find the answer to this and from what I can see alot of individuals are suggesting that it is better to use the old web browser control from VB6. View 3 RepliesI have some questions about the Windows.Forms.WebBrowser control.I have added this control to my project to be able to browse websites internally.First problem is that when I come into a webpage that contains JavaScript to open a new window, the control opens a new instance of iexplore.exe, tries to load the page in which the java script popup code initiated, but then prompts for authentication for a second time.Basically, I have to sign into one page to get to a listing of applications.I click on the application which in turn is just a URL to another page.The URL to the other page contains java script to open a new window.The new window opens in an iexplore.exe process, but re-directs me to the original sign in window instead of taking me to the correct site.If I do a msgbox on the cookie that is currently loaded, it displays my authentication information.How do I tell the new iexplore.exe processes to use the cookie that was stored in the webbrowser control?

I have created several WPF User Controls. The lowest level item is 'PostItNote.xaml'. Next, I have a 'NotesGroup.xaml' file that has an ItemsControl bound to a List of PostItNotes. Above that, I have a 'ProgrammerControl.xaml' file. Each ProgrammerControl has a grid with four different NotesGroup user controls on it (and each NotesGroup contains 0-many PostItNotes.
Then, I have my main window. It also has an ItemsControl, bound to a list of Programmers.
So, you end up with a high level visual view of a list of programmers, each programmer has four groups of tickets, each group of tickets has many PostItNotes.
The trouble I'm having, is that I want to respond to a mouse click event in my mainWindow's code behind file.
I can add a MouseClick event into my PostItNote.xaml.vb file and that is getting called when the user clicks a PostItNote, and I can re-raise the event; but I can't seem to get the NotesGroup to listen for that event. I'm not sure if that's even the correct approach.
When the user clicks the PostItNote, I'm going to do a bunch of business-logic type stuff that the PostItNote control doesn't have a reference to/doesn't know about it.
I have my app which is an internet browser using the webbroswer control, But if you click on a link in the webbrowser that is an Open in new window link then it starts IE and i know the webbrowser control is basically IE but how can I stop this an make it go to the url in my webbrowser?

Ive researched a TON of solutions online and none seem to help at all.Do any of the pro's here know how to fix this memory issue in a webbrowser control?
View 19 RepliesI am using a webbrowser control in my form, and i have simple php pages that does a post back to itself to get some data, the php page is on my server, and navigated to by the webbrowser control.This process sometimes can take 5-30 minutes.Ive noticed for some people waiting 25 min. the browser will come back with "page has timed out"..i can try it on my machine and it works fine..Its worked find in a XP - IE8 and WIN7 IE8 and Chrome machine.Ive seen it not work on XP IE8, and Vista IE8..Actually take that back, it wont work now on my WIN7 X64 after about 5 min.If i bring back the query quick, it works, its just the longs runs..

(by writing document text to a webbrowser control) Unfortunately, the site I use to get the games from uses iFrames from Custom Google Search to house the search results. I know how to deal with frames in a webbrowser (WebBrowser1.document.window.frames("frame name here").document.so on and so forth), however it seems as though iFrames are different. When I try

, it doesn't recognize that it's there. Same thing if I replace the name with the index of the frame - it's not there. Using
