C# - DropDownList Inside An Asp.net Calendar Control
Oct 21, 2011Is it possible to add a DropDownList inside a calendar day for the asp.net Calendar control and then to bind it to a SelectedIndexChanged event? I can add the DropDownList inside the day I want, but I've been unable to bind it to the event. I've seen it done for a LinkButton inside a Calendar control, but nothing for a DropDownList.

Apr 15, 2011I've got a datetimepicker control on a vb .net 2008 form. I have set it to show a custom format of "dd/MM/yyyy". The problem is this: - when i click on the arrow button, a small calendar is shown in which i should be able to select a date. The only way i can do that is by using the arrow keys and pressing Enter. Clicking on any date value inside this calendar doesn't do anything.How can i make the value of the datetimepicker change to what i have clicked inside the dropdown calendar?

Feb 13, 2009I have a FlexGrid control in my Windows application that contains a row of data. The data in this row is related to even more data that won't all fit on the same row. For Example:The main data row contains Username, Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, E-mail Address, Phone Number, etcA secondary row to this might contain user permissions to certain resources, such as File Server Access, FTP Access, Remote Access, etc.Now, I can use the subtotal and outline capabilities of the VSFlexGrid to make a second row, but the column widths are still bound by those set for the main data row. Additionally, I can't put real "headers" on the supplemental data. I have to fake it by creating an additional row, setting the background color of that row to gray, putting the header strings into those fields, and then adding the next row with the actual details.
What I would like to do is create separate grids for these secondary rows and "embed" them in a blank row of the existing FlexGrid control directly under the related main data row. This would give me the ability to use a different number of columns, to format these columns independently of the "parent" FlexGrid settings, as well as put a new header row for the new grid that identifies its data.In other words, I'd like to somehow make a "child" grid that's related to a particular row of the "parent" grid (not the entire grid itself). I don't know if this is possible, and if there is another way for me to accomplish this goal, I'm all ears. However, if it IS possible, I'd love some advice on how to implement it.
Data Grid Inside A Tab Control ?
Apr 25, 2010I have a form allowing user to search details of employees. the form allows users to key in 7 search criteria. the results of this search open in a new window. employee details (data) are of following 3 types: personal details contact details additional details
I want to achieve the following with the results window the new window that opens to show the search results has a tab control with 3 tabs for displaying the results for each of the above categories. hence the three tabs would be personal details contact details additional details each tab would display the required data in a datagridview control. on adding the datagridview directly to the tabpages of the tabcontrol the window does not resize to the size of the datagridview that is displayed. i understand that the property AutoResize is not applicable to a tabcontrol or a tabpage, hence 1 added a panel to each of the tabpages and then added the datagridview to it.
However, even this does not help and the results window is still does not resize to the size of the datagrdiview. i have set the AutoScroll property of all the tabpages to, AutoResize of the datagridview and results window all to True. How to do this as the results widow does not rezise even to the size of the tabcontrol that i have added and the tabcontrol ends up with scroll bttons in the window.

When I click the button I called the function and datasource binded to propertyyGrid, its working fine. The same way am binding the grid from another class.vb, the datasource binding not throwing any exception. But the data not showing in the grid. Should I need to change any modifier.

Apr 15, 2011I'm looking to see if anyone has a sample app or has a link to such an app that uses data binding with a grid control and textboxes and is able to insert, change and delete from a datatable which gets updated to a sql server database.I have done an app that has the grid control and the textboxes already and is able to change and delete from the datatable and that action is reflected in the grid control because it has the datatable as the binding source.
The problem I'm having is when the user tries to insert into the datatable I get a concurrency violation error when using the .Update statement to save the changes to the database. This is happening because I don't know exactly how to get those inserts synchronised correcly.I'm sure I'm also doing the processing wrong but here is what I'm doing.When the user clicks an insert button I insert a new row into the datatable. The user now has the ability to enter text into the textboxes. When the user is finished doing that the user can click the save button which issues a .Update statement. That's where the error is displayed

Mar 8, 2009I'm in the process of developing an application to keep track of employee's shifts. the top of the grid should display the days, the left side the employee name. The grid will display the type of shift (N for night, D for day) I just need some direction as to how to develop the calendar grid...I have a database with all the required information (I have a "Shifts" table, which contains the employee name, the date of shift, and the type of shift). Times are not relevant since employees will be either working a night or day shift (type of shift). I'm using VB9 for this project.

If I move the code inside the Thread1_DoWork procedure into the Button1_Click procedure, the code works fine (by bypassing the backgroundworker). But, when it is called inside of the backgroundworker, it doesn't work at all.

Apr 29, 2012If I have a panel with a handful of controls in it, and I want to create a click event for anytime that the user clicks on any controls that are NOT inside that particular panel, how would I do it? In other words, if there was an event called "ClickSomethingElse", that would be perfect. Any way to accomplish something like this? I realize that I could create individual click events for each of the controls outside of the panel, but there are a LOT of controls outside of the panel, so I was just wondering if there is a more efficient way to do this.

Fortran, COBOL, etc), but totally new to OOP and the "Visual" languages. Despite being a quick study, eloping a user interface to a USB-connected infrared remote control device. The UI's graphical element (a "virtual remote") will be a PHOTO of the IR remote control device supplied by my target-equipment's mfr, OVERLAYED with functional software control buttons in their respective positions. Apr 30, 2012I am making an invoicing application. I have a label (lblCost) inside of a UserControl (InvoiceEntry) inside of a FlowLayoutPanel (pnlEntries). InvoiceEntry represents a line item on the invoice, and pnlEntries is the "body" of the invoice. pnlEntries can hold several InvoiceEntry controls.
I am attempting to sum all of the lblCost values from each InvoiceEntry control to make a subtotal, and I want that subtotal to change automatically if costs are changed (e.g., a change in quantities being ordered). Is there a way to handle when the lblCost.Text property of any of the InvoiceEntry controls contained within pnlEntries changes?

For the most part, I'm able to do most everything I want to do. This tool makes uploading images very easy but unfortunately, it does not currently have the capability to create a photo album before uploading. VS 2010 File Count - Create A Photo Album
Mar 4, 2011I have a program that I am making and need it to be able to search a folder (within a given path, e.g. C:UsersAdminMy Pictures) and return a count of all the files in the folder that are of a certain association, e.g. jpg, into a variable.
The reason I want to do this is to create a photo album (bit like what you see on facebook) where the program searches a folder for all jpg files and loads the count into a variable. Then the user can scroll through the jpg's. I can already get the scrolling bit not a problem but that is only when I manually set the file count myself. VS 2010 - Setting Default Location To Computer For Loading Photo
Dec 9, 2011Just started using the Windows Browser in one of my forms so the user can select a photo they need to load. This was surprisingly easy (This seems to be the norm in Basic, if you think it will be hard it isn't and visa versa). What I am struggling with is how to set the default location to 'Computer' rather than a disk letter and directory name. The photo is most likely to be on a card reader or Memory stick so the drive letter is likely to change.
I am guessing the command will be:
