VS 2010 File Count - Create A Photo Album
Mar 4, 2011
I have a program that I am making and need it to be able to search a folder (within a given path, e.g. C:UsersAdminMy Pictures) and return a count of all the files in the folder that are of a certain association, e.g. jpg, into a variable.
The reason I want to do this is to create a photo album (bit like what you see on facebook) where the program searches a folder for all jpg files and loads the count into a variable. Then the user can scroll through the jpg's. I can already get the scrolling bit not a problem but that is only when I manually set the file count myself. Below is the code I use but I need to automate the maximum file count

According to the facebook documentation To create a new, empty photo album, POST the album name and optional description to [url] I'm using the Facebook Graph Toolkit. For the most part, I'm able to do most everything I want to do. This tool makes uploading images very easy but unfortunately, it does not currently have the capability to create a photo album before uploading. I contacted the author of the toolkit and he said that the source code was available. This was a huge help but unfortunately, even after seeing how he post photos, I was unable to to succesfully create an album. Here is my

"Create a "photo album" of your favorite musical band, favorite vacation, favorite sports team, etc. Include at least five pictures or images. Your photo album should include a button that advances the program to the next photo, as well as a label that describes the picture."The code i currently have is...
Public Class frmPhotos
Private Sub ExitToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ExitToolStripMenuItem.Click

About 3 years ago i came across a vb project for a photo album, it was on online tutorial and I followed it and after some custom tweaking I found it was quite usefull. Unfortuatly the original sourcecode has long since vanished. The project was fairly easy to follow and I remember the author had a photo image of his sailing boat and a yellow labrador (just trying to jog some memories here) :).
Anyway; I have searched high and low for it but can not find it. I'm pretty sure it was on a msdn or some other microsoft forum and was to do with VB 2005 or VB 2008 edition of Visual studio.

I'm new(ish) to Visual Basic and I'm rapidly picking things up as I go.I am currently programming a photo organiser program with the aim of easy tagging, titling, commenting etc.I would like to create a gallery view similar to Windows Live Photo Gallery or Picasa. I've tried searching on Google and these forums for where to start with this but I'm not having much luck! Most search returns just give a guide on displaying one image in a picture box but I would like to display multiple images that can be selectable.

I know album name is usually to music files & stuff probably but I guess album is what I need to categorize my video files correctly in Windows Media Player as it does organize my music files correctly when using album name & title. Anyways, these files I just want to change album name at the least & the description is something else I'd like to change on them as well. These files when I right click & go to properties then over to the details tab will show all the things like it usually does, but it will not let me change them. I am guessing this has to do because they are protected type files but I just want to change some things so they display correctly in Windows Media Player.
It already lets me change attributes inside Windows Media Player & at the bottom pane of the screen in explorer when the file is selected of attributes the file already had, but it won't let me add in the album name & description since it didn't start with one. I don't want to get rid of the protection on the files to be able to add these attributes either as I thought that was illegal or something, plus I don't want to download another program I don't have just to do this, whether it be a protection remover (which I said above, I think is illegal, even if it wasn't or isn't, I still wouldn't want to do that anyways) or even a thing that can change the attributes for me I wouldn't want to download since I just don't like downloading things that I won't use often, even if it's easy to remove & everything.
Since I already have VIsual Basic 2010 Express Edition installed I would just like to code something to change these attributes programmatically. It can be a simple textbox which is the location of the file and a button which changes the album name and description to "Just Text" that way I can put in each file I want to change & then click a button and it will be good from there. I will be able to change the variables after they are there to what I want after that from explorer or windows media player so I don't care for having textbox to change album name & description per file as I can just do this in explorer afterwords to what I want. By the way, files are in .wmv file format.

Just started using the Windows Browser in one of my forms so the user can select a photo they need to load. This was surprisingly easy (This seems to be the norm in Basic, if you think it will be hard it isn't and visa versa). What I am struggling with is how to set the default location to 'Computer' rather than a disk letter and directory name. The photo is most likely to be on a card reader or Memory stick so the drive letter is likely to change.
I am guessing the command will be:
OpenFileDialog1.InitialDirectory = ???????

I want to enable a photo in the upper right section of a Windows Form, but I can't figure out the way to set a photo to visible when one of the tab pages is selected.Right now I have it set up as a visible = true when the tab page is clicked (the tab page itself not the tab button). What I want it to do is become visible when the tab button is clicked.
If this is still confusing I can expand more. Not sure what more you need.
Edit: I'm trying to do it without placing the photo within the tab page.

My requirement is to create a XML file based on an XSD. The source data for this file will be coming from a database. For the purposes of this test, I am trying to manually assign the values.
I followed these steps:
1) Used the XSD.exe to create a VB Class.
PHP
xsd /d /l:VB emprec.xsd /n:XSDSchema.EmpCollection
2) Added the VB Class in my project.
3) If I try to compile my code, I get an error.
Here's the code I wrote:
VB.NET
Private Sub cmdXML_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdXML.Click
Dim emp As New EMPLOYEE_COLLECTION
[Code].....
How do I resolve this? I am unable to add any code in the 'TODO section for this generated class.
