I am trying to create a small photo album layout in vb.net using a listview that when a new album has been created it shows it in the listview as a 3 x 2 grid. But when it gets more than a 3 x 2, I want it to just show a link listing all albums.

I have a program that I am making and need it to be able to search a folder (within a given path, e.g. C:UsersAdminMy Pictures) and return a count of all the files in the folder that are of a certain association, e.g. jpg, into a variable.
The reason I want to do this is to create a photo album (bit like what you see on facebook) where the program searches a folder for all jpg files and loads the count into a variable. Then the user can scroll through the jpg's. I can already get the scrolling bit not a problem but that is only when I manually set the file count myself. About 3 years ago i came across a vb project for a photo album, it was on online tutorial and I followed it and after some custom tweaking I found it was quite usefull. Unfortuatly the original sourcecode has long since vanished.The project was fairly easy to follow and I remember the author had a photo image of his sailing boat and a yellow labrador (just trying to jog some memories here) :).
Anyway; I have searched high and low for it but can not find it. I'm pretty sure it was on a msdn or some other microsoft forum and was to do with VB 2005 or VB 2008 edition of Visual studio.
On form 1 , i have a number of buttons that open up different websites.What i want to do is when i click a button on form 1 , i want forum 2 to show ( Form2.show() ) , Form 2 will have a list (Buttons) of internet browsers.

I'm new(ish) to Visual Basic and I'm rapidly picking things up as I go.I am currently programming a photo organiser program with the aim of easy tagging, titling, commenting etc.I would like to create a gallery view similar to Windows Live Photo Gallery or Picasa. I've tried searching on Google and these forums for where to start with this but I'm not having much luck! Most search returns just give a guide on displaying one image in a picture box but I would like to display multiple images that can be selectable.

My question is: how do I implement similar functionality into ASP.Net MVC 3 Razor (VB)? So far, I have been able to see how you can use ViewData to pass various bits of data to a view. Also, I have been working with strongly typed views. Frankly, I'm not sure who's job it is to have this logic, the controller or the view (or is there a model that should be in there somewhere). Here is a summary of what I am shooting for:
A single place to initialize the default values for the layout (like the first layer of navigation, etc...) Strongly typed attributes, such as Public Readonly Property Nav1 as List(of NavElement) And a single place to render these layout elements (I assume _Layout.vbhtml) forgive the here-and-there of this post... I'm trying to figure out the "right way" it's done on a platform that is both new (Razor) and new to me (ASP.Net MVC).
I am making a CSS layout creator. You can create reziable/dragable sqares. And when you press a button it get the css code for it. How would i get the locations and size of each box? And then spit that all out in a rich text box?

View 1 RepliesSo I created this ListView user control in VB, and specified my data source. The layout I used is "single row" layout and the paging is enabled. However, the result is exactly 10 columns (10 windows) for the row. I'm wondering how could I make the default column to be 5? I checked the properties and there seems to be no such property that controls how many columns to start with for the row.

I have two books about design patterns (GoF and J.Bishop) afair this pattern is indeed not mentioned inside one of the two books. I have also searched the internet I found some java-examples. But I have still no clue how I should use MVC-Pattern (should I?) in my new WPF-application.Let's say for example my model (in fact it is more complex) is only a wheel rim (circle) with the properties Manufacturer, Diameter and Depth. The user should be able enter a value into the text box, and select multiple items from both CheckedListBoxes, when they click the submit button the details will be added to a DataGridView below.
This is an example,The user enters the value Audi A4 into the textbox.
The First Checked Lsit Box is called "Colour" and from the options the user checks 'Red' and 'Blue'.
The second Checked List Box is called "Number of Doors" and from the options the user checks '3' and '5'.
When the User clicks the submit button 4 rows will be added to the DataGridView with all the different combinations, as shown below:

i would like to create a small tool that filters new and old facebook groups, i am almost finished, but one part isnt working the filtering here is the source code, grabbing groups works but checking if they are old or new doesn't, even though it should. View 1 RepliesI am a beginner on Visual Basic but was able to create the 'skeleton' of the application I need to build. Basically, it is an application dedicated to keeping a check on the vinyl I have. When I buy a new record, I want to effectively 'Add New Record' on Visual Basic and be greeted with a page consisting of various forms such as 'Artist' and Title'. Once these are filled in, I want to click 'Enter' and for all that information to be converted to one of the pages within my application.
Here's an easier look at it...
There are LPs that have 10" and 12" sections.
There are singles that have 7" and 12" sections.
In the 'Add New Record' page I want to also have a drop down list with the above elements in, once 12" LP is selected and all the other forms are filled in and I click 'Enter' - I want the application to send it to the 12" LP section of the application.

I'm trying to create a small paint component( similar to MSpaint but not the same thing) in vb.net.I have a panel that holds the background image and a picturebox over the panel that I draw on. I'm using graphics to draw shapes and I have my own custom double buffer, meaning that I draw on the picturebox while the mouse ismoving and on mouse up I draw the final image on the buffer image and on paint event the buffer image replaces the picturebox image.also, i have set the form properties to enable double buffering

my problem is that no matter what i've tried the picture box keeps flickering. as long as the mouse is moving, the paint event keeps getting called and the image flickers like crazy what i need is more ideas(or pseudocode) on how to avoid flickering.
