i would like to create a small tool that filters new and old facebook groups, i am almost finished, but one part isnt working the filtering here is the source code, grabbing groups works but checking if they are old or new doesn't, even though it should. There is one more feature not working where it filters the members size it is not grabbing the text it should (instead of grabbing the amount of members its just grabbing something from the beginning of the source code) [code]

I am creating a small admin reporting tool that gathers certain information on some PCs. Unfortuantly the user that is running the tool doesnt have access and I cant give access to those particular machines. What I have done is created a user on these machines that can get this information.
I would like to then have the reporting tool run certain parts of the code as this user so the information can be obtained, without any intervention from the user running the tool. Can I hardcode this user into the code so that it runs the code as the user?

According to the facebook documentation To create a new, empty photo album, POST the album name and optional description to [url] I'm using the Facebook Graph Toolkit. For the most part, I'm able to do most everything I want to do. This tool makes uploading images very easy but unfortunately, it does not currently have the capability to create a photo album before uploading. I contacted the author of the toolkit and he said that the source code was available. I'm building an control interface for a system that consists of 1-4 modules. In my interface, each module has its own control set, grouped in a groupbox. I only want to show the control groups for the modules that are actually connected and hide the rest.
This is easy to do with the visble property.
I also want all of the groups to be stacked vertically in the UI such that when one is hidden, the rest below it shift up into its place as if you deleted a row in a table. It needs to be able to come back just as easily.

I created a vb.net application that reads a data file (SQL table) and creates contacts and groups from this data. If I run this application and point the Contact folder to my local Outlook folders, the application runs fine. It creates about 550 contact and 10 groups. My problem is when I go to run the application against a public folder that am the "owner" of with full permissions it will run fine until it hits items 250 and then I get a COM error.

I have written a vb.net desktop application for pipe collectors and one of the requests that seems popular is to be able to post pipe details (text) and an image of the pipe onto the user's facebook wall.
Basically the user will bring up their pipe details of choice and be able to click a 'Post To Wall" button which would then post the pipe details onto their wall.

I have an old VB6 application. I want to recreate it in VB.Net using WPF. But I am a bit confused about the "Model View Controller"-pattern. I have two books about design patterns (GoF and J.Bishop) afair this pattern is indeed not mentioned inside one of the two books. I have also searched the internet I found some java-examples. But I have still no clue how I should use MVC-Pattern (should I?) in my new WPF-application.Let's say for example my model (in fact it is more complex) is only a wheel rim (circle) with the properties Manufacturer, Diameter and Depth. I am trying to create a small form that will duplicate a users entry for them.On my form i have a text box and two CheckListBox controls and a button. The user should be able enter a value into the text box, and select multiple items from both CheckedListBoxes, when they click the submit button the details will be added to a DataGridView below.
This is an example,The user enters the value Audi A4 into the textbox.
The First Checked Lsit Box is called "Colour" and from the options the user checks 'Red' and 'Blue'.
The second Checked List Box is called "Number of Doors" and from the options the user checks '3' and '5'.
When the User clicks the submit button 4 rows will be added to the DataGridView with all the different combinations, as shown below:

I am a beginner on Visual Basic but was able to create the 'skeleton' of the application I need to build. Basically, it is an application dedicated to keeping a check on the vinyl I have. When I buy a new record, I want to effectively 'Add New Record' on Visual Basic and be greeted with a page consisting of various forms such as 'Artist' and Title'. Once these are filled in, I want to click 'Enter' and for all that information to be converted to one of the pages within my application.
Here's an easier look at it...
There are LPs that have 10" and 12" sections.
There are singles that have 7" and 12" sections.
In the 'Add New Record' page I want to also have a drop down list with the above elements in, once 12" LP is selected and all the other forms are filled in and I click 'Enter' - I want the application to send it to the 12" LP section of the application.

How will create an array of checkbox, I dont know to create it on vb.net but as far as i know in vb6 you're just going to create a toolbox then if you copy and paste it,it will automatically ask if you want to create an array of it but I really nid it in vb.net, I want to create 5 checkboxes,for example the name of the checkbox would be checkbox then they're indexes would be checkbox(1),checkbox(2),checkbox(3),checkbox(4),checkbox(5). I'm writing a tool that will have -at some point- to create a torrent. Now the tool is big and 'creating the torrent' is only a small part of it so I thought I can use a command-line utility that creates torrents but sadly it seems that there are no such tools available for windows ( found some for linux ). What are my options here? Should I just write a tool that creates torrents out of directories (I don't even know how a torrent file should be structured)? Or is there a way to control a GUI-Based application using my VB.NET program? ( Guess only C can do that, right? )

I'm trying to create a small paint component( similar to MSpaint but not the same thing) in vb.net.I have a panel that holds the background image and a picturebox over the panel that I draw on. I'm using graphics to draw shapes and I have my own custom double buffer, meaning that I draw on the picturebox while the mouse ismoving and on mouse up I draw the final image on the buffer image and on paint event the buffer image replaces the picturebox image.also, i have set the form properties to enable double buffering

i am trying to create a small program that will calculate the miles between to postcodes.The way im doing this is to fill out a webform for each postcode and collect the returned Long/Lat values (i will then calculate the miles from that)
