Oct 30, 2010I have an excel file that analizes the info on a SQL database. we have generated a few charts and now I want to be able to display them on a form in VB 2010I searched the web for info but the solutions I've found do not work and my guess is because they are for earlier versions of VB.I have been able to read or even write to the worksheet using this but on the graphvb.net

Nov 17, 2011I am trying to do is fill out a form with certain info, put the info into an array, and write it to a listbox using loops, arrays, and maybe a function if I need one. This is for VB2010 and here is what I have so far... I think there are ways to make it shorter but I cannot figure it out.... maybe just brain dead from all the coffee I have been drinking!

Sep 13, 2010I am upgrading from VB6, using MSXML.XMLHTTP object. I believe I have gotten the .Net Webclient to send the form fields, and a response comes back from the site, but everything in frames. The VB6 code automatically had all of that data, how can I get that in .Net I know this is a Newbie question if you can point me to documentation,

May 28, 2012I am exporting crystal reports information into an excel spreadsheet and now I am trying to open up excel so that the user can view the page but however I cannot SEE the excel file. in Task manager there is EXCEL.exe which shows that maybe excel opens up but the spreadsheet is not visible.

Problem:I am not getting the cursor (4 arrowheads) for moving the form.I am using the Panel1_MouseHover to display the cursor. Right now if I choose any other cursor then it is working but the same cursor also displays when I hover the mouse over any other control. I want the cursor to show only in the areas of the Panel where there are no controls.How do I show Tooltips for the images? The play,stop,next, previous,playlist,Hideme(with the smiley),volume are all images and not buttons?

Sep 27, 2010Inside a form, I would like to display a pdf file which is already available in my resources (template file "untitled"). In this pdf file, I have some fields which get their values from some texboxes in another form. My aim is, when the user triggers the button to call this form, it should insert the values inside the pdf file and display the output pdf inside the form.I have written the code to an extend but could not finish it myself after my many trials... Now here are the two things I cannot manage:I can use a directory to read the template pdf "untitled1.pdf". But my aim is to use the file inside my resources. can save the output file in a directory but this is not I want to do. I want to display the output pdf.

This is what i do, i first export the data to excel then i import that excel file to another datagrid, this is just for testing cuz i will be getting excels from another computer same program, anyways, there are 2 columns that wheni import the excel file, it doesnt read it it shows in datagrid with no value,empty cell, i dont know why, because in excel the values are there, and all of them are strings sometimes it contains numbers, but theyre manage as string.
I added the images of excel file after i export the datagrid
and image of datagrid after i import that excel file NOTE THE EXCEL VALUES IN EXCEL< and empty in DATAGRID

Although this is fairly easy, there is some complications I am dealing with. Jul 5, 2009My main goal is to have an excel spreadsheet that automatically plots the overall success of my stock portfolio over time (% change over time). I've been able to incorporate stock data into my spreadsheet by linking it to the web, but the trouble is the spreadsheet will keep no history of what the previous stock values were, so I can't graph how things change over time. This sounds like it might be too complicated to be built in to excel, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to program this in Visual Basic. Maybe something like this.... If refresh then new cell plus new time stamp. Another possibility would be to have a whole bunch of cells that refresh only once but at longer and longer intervals, e.g.,
Day Stock value
1 refresh at Day 1
2 refresh at Day 2
3 refresh at Day 3
etc..

VS 2010 Load Form But Don't Display It
Jun 12, 2012I have an app where there's an edit form and it loads a bunch of stuff into comboboxes which takes half a minute to load the first time. Once it's loaded I keep the instance of the form and just hide it instead of disposing it until the app exits. What I would like to do is in the Sub Main of the app (there is no startup form) I would like to launch a new thread and load that form into memory, but I don't want the form to be displayed at that time, what's the best way to do this?

Apr 25, 2010I am trying to do a form it has 2 comboboxes and I have the arrays set up one of the combboxes is for pizza size and it has 4 selections and the other combobox is for crust style it has 2 selections. The user has to pick on of each and it pills the price from the array and then displays the price in a text box. I for the life of me can't figure out how to get it to pull the info from the array and then display it in the text box, it either displays nothing in the text box or a 0 or 1.

Aug 6, 2010I'm learning about the cultureinfo and doing ok but there is one thing I can't work out.I'd like to know how to find out the display settings of the date for the user pc.For example, I have an American bought laptop using the us culture so the date will be MM/dd/YY but I have changed the date setting to read dd/MM7YY. So that means I haven't actually changed the inbuilt cultureinfo, I've just "altered" a setting and it's that setting I want to access. When my project starts I have a label that I want to read as dd/MM/YY.With another pc it might be different - the culture might be uk but the date setting might be changed MM/dd/YY so I want the label to read MM/dd/YY etc etc etc.If the cultureinfo hasn't been changed then I want the label to read whatever the date is set to etc.

Apr 16, 2011I am building an ordering system for my job. The idea is that the customer will put in a stage name for an item. That stage name is then interpreted by the program.The product id and the amount the customer wants to order is placed in a list box on the form. There are a couple of buttons, ADD, REMOVE, CLEAR, and EXPORT. The user input is handled by input boxes. When the user pushes the EXPORT button, excel should open and list out the interpreted product codes with the corresponding amount to order. I can get excel to open, but I can not get excel to display more than one line. It will display the first product, but then it comes up with an unhandled exception.I can not figure out how to get excel to return down a row and display the next product within the list box.
