ListView BackColor Fill Entire Column?
Dec 21, 2009In the screenshot, you can see where the BackColor is set for each item added to the ListView on the right. How can I fill the white space between the columns as well? I'm assuming the column width is the highlighted portion plus the white space. I thought setting the BackColor would fill this whole portion so that there essentially would be no white space at all showing anywhere in the listview (except maybe at the bottom). Is there a Property I need to set to do this? the listview has 1 column and it's autoresize property is set to CellContent.

Oct 11, 2011I have a listview and by default it is set to large icons, no problems there. But if giving the user a choice I would liek to see details in the options. I have it set to switch between icons and details but in details mode there is a lot of spacing in the first column. Image attached. The code is below showing how I am loading the listview. Also why so much vertical spacing as well.

VS 2010 Populate Multi-column Listview From File?
Jun 14, 2011I am trying to populate a multi-column listview from a file. I have gotten as far as reading the correct data from the file to an array and populating the correct columns with said data. However, sometimes the array will span multiple lines of data in the file and I need all of these matches to populate the listview but the code that I have now only populates the listview with the data from the first matching line. I have tried declaring the variables as listviewitems instead of strings, which allowed me to use listView.Items.AddRange(arr) but then all of the data appeared in the first column instead of spread across all columns like it is supposed to. At this point I am at a loss because I can only figure out how to either fill the first column with all data or fill all columns with only the first line of data. Here is the code that I have

You can't Ubound multidimensional array as you can do with single dimensional array, as the second dimension can have different number of items in each column (DimX in the following table)

You get size of 2nd dimension, not number of items in the table for particular column. The best solution which comes to my mind is to define another array, a multidimensional counter, like

And count every added item for each column. Is this the best way?

I access the values in the array from a form through properties.The problem I am having is when I run the project as I step through the code I can see the values being added to the array but when access it from a string property it shows up as string System.String[,]. VS 2005 Fill Docked Listview Hides Under Toolbar
Sep 13, 2010I have a form that has a toolbar and a status bar on it. After the form's InitializeComponent method is ran, I add a listview control to it and set the listview's dock property to fill. The listview is actually an overridden listview with an overridded constructor - that's why I don't just add the listview using the designer.
But the listview tucks itself up under the toolbar. It looks like the bottom of the listview respects the presence of the status bar. It's just the top of the listview that is giving me problems. So, any guesses as to what I may be doing wrong - why the listview tries to fill dock underneath the toolbar?
