i'v started learning visual basic on a software development college course and i have to make a program which outputs a price of something into currency only when i click on my calculate button it only comes out as a whole number so instead of �1.00 it just says 1, this is my output code.

I have a form as follows "Price changer" The user is allowed to select a product and enter price . So when the change price button is clicked...the price is stored in a array which is later called
So what i am stuck is when the user selects a product from the drop down menu...the user can enter price . But i need to display a error message when the user enters text instead of numbers for prices. I tried try parse method but it displayed the error message but did not transfer the entered price to the array.

That's just a beginning, since the whole rest of the thing will be the same concept pretty much, and what I want to have it do is, like stated earlier, once the option is chosen, a text output, like this:
I know there is an alternative to solving that, but it will take me 10x more time, and that is, creating a new textbox, setting the visibility to False, and typing what I want outputted in that text box, then putting: RichTextBox1 = TextBox1.Text
I know that works, and gives me my output, but I just wanted to know if there was any other way but that.
I am new to vb and I am having so much trouble with this. I'm taking standard output (as a string) froma console CMD window (results of dsquery piped to dsget) and have found small rectangles in the output. I tried using Regex to clean the little bastards but it seems they are related to the _ (underscore), which I need to keep (to return 2000/NT logins). Odd thing is - when I copy the caharcter and paste it into VS2K10 Express it acts like a carrige return?Going to try using /U or /A CMD switch next..

I have the following code but I don't think it's working with the array correctly as it will let me enter the information but doesn't stop letting me enter after the 12 prices. I created a program Using ListBoxes and ComboBoxes. The program has the user selecting items from a diner menu and then calculating the cost. The problem i'm getting is the calculations aren't coming out right. I keep getting whole numbers instead of the actual price.

The user has to type the price of the meal and then it should calculate the price but for some reason instead of *8,5% it will do x*8.5.
I have a Datagrid with 4 columns. Column 1 is ID, Column 2 is Products, Column 3 QTY, Column 4 Price and Column 5 is Total. I would like to get the Total of Column ID if it has 3 of the same ID and the Column 3 Price is $10.00 ea. Then on the Coulumn 4 Total get a result of $30.00.

I have to create a program where you enter the description, price, and quantity of an item, then click on the Add button. It will then put the description, price, quantity, and total for that line (including tax) in a listbox. The tax is determined by what you put in a text box labeled tax:. When you press Submit Order, it should show a grand total in a text box called Grand Total. It should have a class that is called Items that has a function called GetTotalAmount() that figures out the total including tax. I have started it, but am having a tough time with how to get the subtotals into the text box, then also show the amount including the tax PLUS then do the grand total.

Currently they are ALL set to Currency. I'm trying to add the fields but it don't seem to work. I am trying to create a "stock Price Program" for an assignment that will allow you to type in a stock symbol such as "goog" in the client side and the server side will respond with a price for that stock symbol, this price can either be hard coded in or read from a text file. I have done a lot of research and have a good understanding of how sockets work.
My issue is that I do not understand how to get the server to reply based on what the client sends it. I have a working program that allows you to send text to the server and it should reply with the same text and date but i think the client is just re-typing the text instead of receiving it from the server and I can't figure out how to get the client to receive back from the server

1. I have Combo boxes, the names of them are "wowlocation", "wowreagon". these all have default values. How would i go into the registry get the values and if i change it it would auto put it into the registry.
2. I have a file in foulder named "realmd.***" when i choose my options from the boxes it must put what i selected into the file (The file is a normal txt file with the ext *** only), it has to pull the "wowlocation" and "wowreagon" from the DB, when it does that it is able to pick the right thing to put on,There is only 3 Values, US, EU and WTN, each will have its own text to put into the file, how would i Open that Specific file and then write the values i choose?
3. How do i make a Image Launch a Program? (The location of the file is in the registery, basicly "wowlocation/wow.exe" ?

The text document will be arranged like this:

and i want the program to search for the provided username and password in the list and switch to form2 if its found, else it will throw an error at the user.
