View 3 RepliesI want to make a program that displays files in listview and makes the files clickable. How could I do this? I just need a little bit of help and I want the files to be displayed on form_load and if you need a location to display files from for an example, here is my location:C:WINDOWS
I'm not asking for anything huge, just an explanation or example, maybe a small amount of code.
I am creating a Windows Application in VB.Net 2.0. The application is an FTP transfer application, where I need to display 2 panes. On the first pane, I need to display the client folder structure and on the other pane, I need to display the remote FTP server. Most of the functionality is complete, but I am stuck on 2 places.
1. I need to display a combo box on top, similar to the one we have for Windows Explorer Address bar (where we can see My Computer, Desktop, Network Places, Drives, etc.). I have searched a lot but could not find something matching my requirement other than a few 3rd party controls which I need to purchase (I am looking for something open-source).
2. I am using ListView Control to display the files list. I need to show icons for "My Computer", Network Places and desktop on the List View, which I am not able to do. Is there any way I can display these Icons and make them work exactly the way Windows Explorer does?
I wish to add a toolbar that looks like the one in windows explorer to my windows application in my visual basic 2005 application. Although I have currently deployed the default 'toolstrip' that is avilable among the controls but I don't understand how should i change the appearance of the toolstrip from office 2003 to the one present in windows explorer. Please provide a solution to the above problem.

I want to make a program that is similar to Windows Explorer. It will have a button that when you click it it opens a FolderBrowserDialog and it will have an area that displays the contents of the selected folder. I want to have a label that displays the current folder path (i.e. 'USERDocuments...') and I also would like a feature to search all files on the computer. Also, is it possible that when I click on a file in the contents of the selected folder it displays its information (i.e. Name, Size, etc.)? And can I also make it so that if you double click on another folder in the current folder's display it opens that folder? And can I have a button to go up one directory?
View 1 RepliesI'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?
View 4 RepliesI am having this strange thing happen where I have a Module that contains multiple classes in my project. In the Solution Explorer, the module shows up as a Windows Form and if I double click on it to open it, it tries to open the Form Designer. What could be causing VS to think that it is a Windows Form instead of a module?

making a very simple detailed listview visually, not programatically. I have now added a listview to the form and added the columns I need. But how do I add rows to the list? When I add items to the list it seems to just add some sort of category or something. So can anybody tell me how to make a simple detailed list or show me a tutorial on how to do it?
