I've got a list view that opens items inside a folder and displays them. I want to know if there is a way to have the list view display the icons aswell, maybe using shell32 or an imagelist. Here's the
I am creating a Windows Application in VB.Net 2.0. The application is an FTP transfer application, where I need to display 2 panes. On the first pane, I need to display the client folder structure and on the other pane, I need to display the remote FTP server. Most of the functionality is complete, but I am stuck on 2 places.
1. I need to display a combo box on top, similar to the one we have for Windows Explorer Address bar (where we can see My Computer, Desktop, Network Places, Drives, etc.). I have searched a lot but could not find something matching my requirement other than a few 3rd party controls which I need to purchase (I am looking for something open-source).
2. I am using ListView Control to display the files list. I need to show icons for "My Computer", Network Places and desktop on the List View, which I am not able to do. Is there any way I can display these Icons and make them work exactly the way Windows Explorer does?
I wish to add a toolbar that looks like the one in windows explorer to my windows application in my visual basic 2005 application. Although I have currently deployed the default 'toolstrip' that is avilable among the controls but I don't understand how should i change the appearance of the toolstrip from office 2003 to the one present in windows explorer.Please provide a solution to the above problem.

I am trying to write a script to set the focus to the folder view in Windows Explorer. Is there some sort of way I can find the folder view pane and set focus to it? A bit like finding a child window and setting focus to it using the Windows API functions.

Now I realise that you can't use the above functions to find parts of Windows but it just gives you the idea. If I could do it with API functions that would be fine otherwise I am a little bit limited because I am using a Visual Basic scripting type engine which I won't bore you with details of.
I'm creating some buttons in Word 2007 that I want to use in my company application to make our teams life easier. The application is a server application but when it loads it goes through our internet explorer.If I could reveal the source code then I could get the ElementbyID to hook up the button to the text field in the application.When the application loads I can quickly right click on view the source code and it is written in C#.This is one of the id's i was able to grab

I have a combobox with a dropdownstyle of dropdownlist (style 2). When a user finishes making entries and clears the form, I want the display value of this to return to null. With an unrestricted combobox, I could just set .text="" and be good to go; that doesn't work with the ones that are restricted.

how i can change the native scrollbar style in my application to my custom style. I can adopt a custom scrollbar to attain this purpose but this will not serve my purpose because i want this attribute in entire application. Like it the text in textbox gets longer than its bounds than the scrollbar appers are my custom bar not the formal ones

I have a listview populated from a database (im a bit of a novice with programming) and i want to be able to type a surname into a textbox and search the listview for that person. I can easily populate textboxes from searching the database but am unsure how to "filter" the listview so if i type "jones" into the surname box it only displays the people in the listview who have the surname jones.

I am wondering, what is the most efficient way to print from a listview. The listview's values are loaded from a database, and I would like to print from that listview. So far I have tried moving them to a text file and printing the text file, but Windows said that "The file is to large for notpad" even though I was not using notepad.
Is it advised to create an array of structures and then load everything into the array? If so, do I create the array dynamicly?
