VS 2010 Read A Sheet From A Excel Workbook And Pop It Into A Datatable?

I have managed to read a sheet from a excel workbook and pop it into a datatable.
Public Function GetSheet(ByVal SheetName As String) As DataTable

MyDataTable.Clear()

My understanding is that if I make changes in the datagridview it is reflected in the datatable.
So now I want to write the updated datatable back to the appropriate worksheet.
I have read about "insert into" or "update" etc but it is very specific columns and rows.
One other thing, when I set the datagridview datasource as the datatable I get about 9 other columns such as TABLE_SCHEMA TABLE_TYPE etc. Any pointers wher thay are coming from and maybe how to get rid ofthem?

what to do as i used Openrowset but it didnot works well the sheet contain variable no of columns.

This works well when having about 240 columns, but if it exceed to 256 it gives error and the connection would not get open.So i decided to use bulk insert into a temp table,how to bulk insert from specific sheet of workbook I have tried

But it didnot works when number of columns exceed but works well on sql when columns are less.

im creating an application that query data from fox pro, manipulate it and export it to excel.here is the code im using to creat excel object:

im getting excell.application underlined(error msg:new cannot be used on an interface)it get fixed when i remove New, but now im getting oExcel in second line wiggly underlined(er msg;variable oExcel is used before its been assigned a value)

A year ago I saw a beautiful simple code that gets a data table and saves it in an excel file. The trick was to use the web library (something with http) and I'm almost sure it was a stream. I find a lot of code with response but I can't make it work in a win-form environment. There is also a cell by cell code - not interested -too slow. I want to paste it as a range or something close.

I have an excel sheet that contains 25000 phone numbers listed in one cell with no sorting order. I want to create a small windows application that can read the sheet and return the total number of the phone numbers and how many duplicate numbers as well as the number of times of repetitions. How I can resolve this issue? What is the best way to approach it? I'm using VS 2008 and VB.Net.

I have a little problem with a small application that uses an excel workbook, and i don't know what's the best way to handle this.In the past every computers here in the company had the same culture and the same office version/language.Now the company bought some new machines, that came with english version of the office (en-US). Now the program doesn't work, throwing the exception related with the assembly of the office.
I have two solutions to solve this, install the mui in all the computers, or the one that i want, adapt the application to work independent of the culture in the client machine.So how to accomplish this? Set the application culture to the same culture in the computer (i think this will not work, because the excel assembly that i ship with the application isn't the correct one for the client language it's the assembly of my machine language)... One copy for each language, once again it's not possible

I am trying to read data from an excel sheet but there is an exception saying that no value given for one or more required parameters which I don't understand. Here is my code upto where the error is pointing to:

The exception points to that last line MyCommand.Fill(DtSet) which shows me that there is a problem with my select statement. Previously my code reads the data and displays it without the where clause in the select but when I added the where statement so that it can only read data from rows where the column I has a value equal to 176, it instead gives an exception that shows that some required parameter is missing a value?

I am finally switching from VB6 to VB Net and am rewriting a technical application that calculates the heat transfer performance of automotive radiators, heater cores, evaporators, condensers, etc.The user can calculate a heat exchanger and save the results to an Excel spreadsheet. After a series of calculations he can then plot curves of performance.
He can also click on a previous calculation in Excel and import it into the VB routine. The user may have a number of workbooks open when he does this.My problem is I need to open the Excel workbook that is the active workbook. I have been able to select the active worksheet but have been forced to specify the index of the workbook. I have not been able to get the workbook I want.. The code I used is the following,

In this file some cells are merged. After copying to the new sheet the formatting of the sheet does not remain same. Columns sizes are changing. Why this problems occurs? I have some trouble with opening a excel sheet and getting some data out of it.
I want my program to have a button, when pressed, gives a "select excel file" popup and then load the data from some cells into my sql database.
So, when opening a excel file the program should get the data from cell D3 to D8 and put that into the sql database.

I'm facing a problem reading .csv file into datatable. The machine on which i install my window service ( which reads the csv ) is Windows Server 2008 R2.The error i get is : The 'Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine
Below is the code i use to fill the dataset from .csv file :

I have to color some of lines and make them bold.The input is based on a dynamic list (in memory) and it also could be based on CSV file that I'm already provide today (based on the same dynamic list).I'm wondering what would be the most efficient way (in terms of performance) in order to provide the colored Excel output?Should I export directly from dynamic list into Excel - or - Should I export from CSV into Excel ?

I'm trying to copy multiple excel source files into one excel file. My current code is working only for 3 source files..If more than 3 files are there, it doesn't copy the data but creates blank work sheet in the output excel file. Lets say I have a source folder with 5 excel files. Each workbook contains one worksheet with data. It copies upto 3 worksheets along with data into output excel file.
Lets say excel1 contains A as work sheet, excel2 contains B as work sheet ,excel3 contains C as work sheet ,excel4 contains D as work sheet ,excel5 contains E as work sheet .Now my output excel file should look like..OutputExcel with A, B, C, D, E along with respective data.But my current code is giving output as A,B,C worksheets along with respective data but its creating blank sheet1,sheet2 in place of D & E.

So I've got this Excel sheet of employees which have all the information about them. I'm trying to import this info into AD, but in order to do that I need to get the username for these users as well. And I would like vba code or vb.net code that basically takes the value of every row in column D and looks for it in AD and returns the username and adds it to column A. In the following code why does the message box display behind the workbook,instead of on top of it? It does this related to the line, app.Visible = True. if this line is commented out the message box appears in front, but there is no workbook visible. I've used the message box in other places without a problem. Is there something fundamental here that I'm missiing?

Part 1 of what i want to do is on the Load Event of my form i want to look at an excel worksheet and populate a data table with the data found in the first two columns of the worksheet.
Essentially column 1 is Descriptions and column 2 is pricing
Part 2 of what i need to do is that when a user selects a description from the combo box it populates a text box with the appropriate pricing.
After doing some reading into this all i have seen is some threads on how to use Jet4.0 to link and grab the data but it is my understanding that Jet doesnt work with 64 bit OS.
Nonetheless I need to figure out a way to accomplish my end goal and make it as universal a solution as possible (ie. i do not want it to only run on 64 bit or 32 bit machines)
