The function for this is here: Public Function _SQLInsertBuilder(ByVal values As ArrayList, ByVal Table As String) As String Dim commandString As String Dim columns As ArrayList = GetTables(Table) commandString = "INSERT INTO `" & Table & "` (" For Each column As String In columns [Code] .....
Now I know that much like mysql_real_escape_string() VB.NET has a Parameter ability to make querys safer. How could I parameterize the values during the build of the string.
I am working in a project where i have to add employees in a company. I have a form with text fields(for example name,surname,age,...). What i want is to insert this txt values into a database. I am now able to add a row to Table1 in my database and and to populate some text boxes with that data. Now...one of those text boxes has a piece of data I wish to use as a variable/parameter in a SQL query to then populate several other text boxes. The piece of data in question is the Primary Key in a Table2. I have tried several methods I've discovered online...but nothing is working so far. So far I'm leaning towards the CommandBuilder but am unable to make it work.
How can I read a textbox.text value when the textbox is not visible. This is a textbox that has been pulled on the form from a dataset. When it is visible it is fine. When I make the textbox.visible = False it no longer reads that value.

But when i run this code BUT_A.text returns the value that is set for BUT_B on the textfile then any code after that doesn't import at all. Here's the code I am using for the open button (I'll be adding a OFD later)

Essentially what I'm trying to do is read a particular line of text from an integrated web browser (webbrowser1) into a textbox. The user will enter an id number into a textbox which will automatically search the online database search that will be open in webbrowser1. What I then want to do is read the resulting html text into particular textboxes.
The code below allows me to write a single line to a textfile. Id like to be able to open an entire textfile into a textbox, be able to edit said text and have it automatically write back to the same textfile.
Private myCoolFile As String = "C:UserskevinMy Documentspasswords.txt" '// your file. Private myCoolFileLines() As String = Nothing '// String Array to read File Lines into. Private sTemp As String = Nothing '// temp String to be used as needed.
How can I read an online text file(just a textfile that is uploaded online) in a Textbox or a label in visual basic 2008? This is all i could find and when im using it with VB2010 it says:"A first chance exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in System.dll"

I want to be able to read ONLY the link from the file.. In the first file above it would be after the "File1=" text in the file.. And in the other file it should be whats written after the "<ref href="" part..
And as you see in the second file there are three links, so to start with it should only read the first line, maybe later i could make a selection window popup or something..

I want to query an access database with variable data defined by the user. The "Search" criteria would be in a textbox. I made a query like
SELECT askID, Question FROM chita WHERE (askID LIKE 'Textbox10.text%') and referring to this query as
Form1.ChitaTableAdapter.searchrec(Form1.ChitaDataSet1.chita)But id does not take the value of the textbox, instead it takes the Textbox10.text as a value. Is it possible to refer to it like this, or should I Linq?

Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?
I am developing a Windows Forms application using VB.NET in VS 2008 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit. I am connected to a SQL Server Compact Edition Database. One of the tables involved has 3 columns - CompanyID, CompanyName and CompanyNotes. I have created a form in Visual Basic to add a new company to the database, and of course I don't want the user to have to manually put in the company ID.
In the dataset.xsd I have created an INSERT SQL query that simply inserts a new row with the CompanyID, CompanyName and CompanyNotes. I have set the CompanyID to auto-increment. However, when I tried inserting the name and notes it didn't like it because I set the ID field to be mandatory. How will I insert the new company data into a new row with a new ID?
The very basic code I currently use for adding a new company:
Private Sub btnSave_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click Me.CompanyTableAdapter1.AddCompany(??????????, txtCompanyName.Text,
