I have searched everywhere to find a solution for this. I am a beginner and in a tutorial i have seen they did it with access DB without any problems. i did the same but for SQL CE DB, i probably did something wrong or missed some steps.
I would like to add a way to see if an entry is already in a connected database in the following code. If it is then don't add the entry and pop up a dialog saying something to the effect of "already been scanned" and if it is not, proceed as usual.[code]

But unfortunately it doesn't run, when I debug, the code passed through all the lines without problem, but it doesn't insert the row in the DataTable. One curious thing is that when I run the application the database which remained connected It disconnects automatically, and I don't know why.
I built a game that has three forms (the game, player info, and scoreboard). When you die the Player form shows and has a text box for the user to into their name and then they click submit. After they click submit the Scoreboard form shows and their name and score is showed in disabled text boxes. Also in the Scoreboard form are two List boxes (one for their name, and one for their score). The list boxes are connected to the database through a databinding by dragging them over from DataSources into the form.
I would like for the information in the Name text box and Score text box to automatically be inserted into the database when the Scoreboard form is loaded.How do you insert text from a textbox into a database?the Name is the first column in the database and the Score is the second column in the database.

i am relatively new to VB and i am working on a Visual Basic Program to build a Student Record Book where all the information is stored to an Access 2007 database. I'm using visual studio 2005 to develop a mobile application. The database i'm using is sql compact edition. I know in normal sql like mysql, ms sql i can do a multiple insert of data but in sql ce it don't work!
I know of a long way that is to just create a createVendor1, createVendor2 as many time as i need to insert the data..but i don't think this is the right way to do it. this is what i have currently, if i remove the 2nd insert , it works. NOTE: There is a semi colon at the end of the insert but that is not the problem as removing it also doesn't work.
