VS 2010 Referenced Component System.Core Could Not Be Found?
Mar 24, 2011
When my application loads in Visual Studio 2010 I see this warning. Everything runs ok in it as far as I'm aware but I'm completely ignorant in this area. Could that cause me a problem and is there a way to replace that component? There is also the other warning you see in the screenshot.
Quote:Warning1Namespace or type specified in the project-level Imports 'System.Linq' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases.
I did a search for the entire solution and it didn't turn up any Sysem.Linq anywhere. I looked at every Imports statement in my project and I don't have any Imports System.Linq anywhere unless it's somewhere where Visual Studio's quick find search doesn't see it.
everytime I add a reference in 2008 it gives this error, it works fine in 2010 but I have certain add-ons for 2008 that I need. Copy Local is set to false but no matter what I do it wont change.
Somehow the reference to System.Core got removed from one of my projects, which I think is causing some issues. If I try to re-add it to my references I get a message saying "A reference to 'System.Core' could not be added. This component is already automatically referenced by the build system". I think I need this reference because it is there when I start a new project by default
We have an VB.net application that is being moved from one box to another. It runs great on the old box. The new box is configured the same as the old one but is on newer hardware. When I run the application on the new server it complains that the adobe toolkit that we use can not be found.
We have a VB project that loads a reference to a .Net dll (which we also make). Both projects are being simultaneously developed.
When we add new classes to the referenced dll, the main project normally fails to notice the changes.
That is, if we added a new class Bar to the Foo dll, we should be able to type "Foo." and have Bar listed in the intellisense dropdown. It's never there.
Removing the reference and then adding it back in again sometimes fixes the problem. Sometimes we have been able to just manually type Bar in and then rebuild without errors.
It seems to me that there should be some way to tell Visual Studio to reload the referenced project because it has changed. Actually, I think VS should notice the change itself, but failing that, we need a simple way to force a reload.
Edit: It is VS2005 and we are referencing output assemblies (the dll)
I have finished coding an application which I designed for people working in my office. When I started to install the application to computers at the office, I realized that, in some machines, application doesnt work properly. Although it worked for 15 computers perfectly, for 3 computers following error code is displayed:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Everything was fine but suddenly appeared this error when I built a project. Warning 1 The referenced component 'stdole3' could not be found. Warning 2 The referenced component 'stdole2' could not be found. [URL]
I am using Visual Studio 2010 and referencing System.Configuration at the top "Imports System.Configuration" but I'm still getting not declared and could be inaccessible due to it's protection level. What now?
I am having major problems with creating my tables and populating them. The problem for the creating seems to lie when I try to create my table named WeeklyUnitStaffRota. I get the run time error 2147467259(80004005) No unique index found for the referenced field of the primary table. This has only started happening as I have been tinkering with my tables to get them to populate properly.I seem to have a problem when I have two columns with the same info but relating to a different college ie two MSC being run at 2 different colleges.[code]...
I was going to hijack another, related, thread to ask this, but I figured it derserved its own thread. The question I have is whether or not anybody has done sufficient testing to show whether a mutlithreaded program running on a multi-core system will spread the threads across all available cores, or whether it has some affinity for the core used by the main process (UI thread, or whatever it may be)? The reason I ask is because I remember a discussion over in General Computing where somebody showed that, for at least one case, all the threads were splitting time on a single core of a multi-core processor. I am wondering if that is the typical behavior, or an isolated case?
I've been trying, without any luck whatsoever, to figure out how to use the Core Audio API in VB 2010. I started by downloading a wrapper dll located here: [URL]
I'm using VB 2008, and I have a dual core computer. Is it possible to make a code that sends one application or program in 1 core, and other application in the other core?

Opening a VB.net 2008 app that I developed, I get the following error.
1) Cannot load library type
2) the refrenced component "MSAdodclib" could not be found.
Now I have XP Pro and VB.net 2008 Express loaded already. I have also tried reloading MDAC. riorreload I had VB6 installed. It is not installed now though.
All of the sudden, I'm no longer able to build a Solution without getting an error in VS 2010. A minute ago I was able to build, and now I can't.
The error is: Unable to load referenced library 'C:Program FilesReference AssembliesMicrosoftFramework.NETFrameworkv4.0System.DirectoryServices.dll': System Error &H8013110e&
I've checked and the .dll is there. I've re-booted and grabbed the latest version from Team Foundation Server.
I created an application using VS2008. I am having a problem on only one PC. If I log on to the PC as the domain administrator, it deploys and runs just fine. If I log on as the user I get an error that basically says "The referenced assembly is not installed on your system. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B3)". The error comes when running Venodr.appref-msl. VENDOR is the name of the application. The source is System.DeploymentSystem.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException I upgraded the user to a domain administrator and it still will not run. The PC is XP SP3
I'm having an issue that, frankly, I don't understand. I've been developping a VB.NET application for months and today, when I open the solution file, and tried rebuilding it, I am getting several errors, all various permutations of "The referenced component 'SOMETHING' could not be found." There are 5 COM objects that it cannot seem to load (Excel, Office.Core, VBIDE, Word, and OISSERVERLib).
When I go into the References section, I see next to those COM objects, the path is now shown as "<The system cannot find the reference specified>". I've followed the steps outlined here, including updating the reference paths to directly point to the files, but nothing seems to be fixing the issue.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, or (even better) how to fix it? This is the first time in 4 years that I've encountered an issue like this.
I've attached a zip file containing a screen print of Visual Studio showing the errors.
During file copy, I'm giving the absolute file name. But the compiler says file not found always. Is it a problem in my system or any error in my program.

I am getting an error when I try and run my service. I made sure everything in the project is VB .NET 2.0.This service used to work, but we have been making code updates... I did some research but I do not see anything relevant. Does this error mean that my function cause the issue? Or is it the List that is the issue?
I have added bat_fix_w7.reg as a resource file, with binary type, now when i run the code it gives me err System cannot found the file specified, but when i checked my F: drive the file is there than why 2 line is generating err.
Good day, i have an application which can upload and preview image files, e-presentations, word duments, excel files and pdf files. On my program i used Web Browser Control and I'm planning to change the component or upgrade the software. Aside from Web Browser Control, what else can I use to preview those file types? By the way, i am using visual basic 2003(vb.net 2003) with this application.
I have below installer class to ngen app after installation and I'm getting several errors.
Imports System.Collections Imports System.ComponentModel Imports System.Configuration.Install 'This line gives warning: Namespace or type specified in the Imports
(using vb.net) On our intranet site we have an app that loads customer or vendor information and then allows the users to edit info and add/update/delete contacts. I'm not sure what really changed to this program lately, but I keep getting this error:
Method not found: 'Int16 DBLayer.DBTools.ExecuteNonQuery(System.String, DB)'.
This occurs when i try editing any customer info and the vendor contacts, but the program works when I try editing the vendor info/addy. Here's the program code. There's a seperate program on our webserver that contains the classes used. Here's the main code that calls the classes:
TO ADD CONTACT M2MInterface.M2M.Customers.AddContact(Session("CustVendID"), txtFName.Text.ToUpper.Trim, txtLName.Text.ToUpper.Trim, Tools.RemovePhoneNumberFormat(Phone), Tools.RemovePhoneNumberFormat(Fax), txtEMail.Text, txtNotes.Text, False) TO UPDATE CONTACT
I am running Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows 7 system. While working on a visual basic exercise in chapter 4 of the Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Step by Step book on the MyMenu program I added a Toolstrip to my form and then I was trying to perform the add OpenFileDialog and ColorDialog controls to the component tray as described at the bottom of page 111 under Using Dialog Box Controls. I could never get the controls to appear in the component tray as instructed in the book.
I added a toolstrip to the form. According to my instructions I should be able to click on the Open file icon on the toolstrip to select it and then click anywhere else on the form. When I do that, the OpenFileDialog should appear on the component tray where I can then select it to enter code. This however does not happen. The only way I was able to get them to appear in the component tray was by opening the Menu program supplied on the DVD under chapter 4, selecting both of the above controls on the component tray, right clicking and then press copy. I then closed the Menu program and opened the MyMenu program that I created and then I was able to paste the two object controls to the component tray.
I went back to the original Menu program to see if I was able to place any other controls on the component tray by following the instructions in the book but was not able to. I also tried the same thing with MyMenu and it also still would not work.I have been unable to find anything that might explain why the component tray does not work as explained. Perhaps there is some setting somewhere that needs changed, but all searches have been unsuccessful.
PS. I have entered this on one of the other MicroSoft forums and although it has gotten multiple views I have not yet received any feedback.I also get the following error: Cannot add component of type 'ToolStripButton' to container of type 'form'.
When trying to compile my newly created ClassLibrary class 'Validator' that validates entries made into TextBoxs or MaskedTextBoxs, I get the following error:
Warning 1 Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'System.Windows.Forms' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found. Make sure the namespace or the type is defined and contains at least one public member. Make sure the imported element name doesn't use any aliases. Following is the first part of code in the class:

What can I do to resolve this problem? The classes in this class library will be used to validate forms data input in a number of varied projects.
