I have visual studio 2008 I have two different datasets that take values as "money". those datasets are in two different forms. I would like to collect each and every value of all different entries o the two datasets, and add them so that I can display the totals in a new form that has textboxes that displays the total of the two different datasets.

The second column will allow my user to enter monetary values which are spending from whatever company was selected in the first column.The third column will calculate a percentage.After putting the table on my form, I would like to go through the table as the user enter the values and add the monetary values of the second column if they belong to the same company.Meaning that for example every time company A is detected in the combo box, its spendings will be added and displayed in a textbox in a different form.Every time company B is selected in the combo box, its its spendings will also be added and displayed in a textbox in a different form.and so on, and so on for all 6 companies.

View 2 RepliesI had an Excel spreadsheet which I put in MS Access (database). I then took that database and used that as a source in VB to create a GUI for. In VB I have an input text box to search and pull of different fields. I created some queries for searches in from the text box. I have have a dataset view of the data which has the binding navigator (add, insert, save).
The problem I have is that when I hit the '+' for add to add information and then click the 'save' button in the binding Navigator, the information I put in does not save. I check this by exit out of the program run (debug to open the app) and then open it back up to search and/or check for the new information I put in. My overall goal is to create to publish the final code and use an a standalone program.
Also, as another option,(I would like to learn) Is there a way to map VB directly to an Excel file to have the user input information and save to the excel file.
I have a problem binding a radiobuttongroup to a dataset/datasetbindingsource. I have a field - among many others - in the dataset, holding int values 1-6 All fields are shown in textboxes on the windows form. When I attempt to modify values in the array using variable(y)(x) = 1 where x and y are integers in range it changes the value to 1 in the entire column, not just a single cell.

I am making my first windows forms application in VS2010 and I am having trouble with arrays. I have code that dim's an array 'TabSiteInfo(2,20)' as a string. Then, I have a Loop that adds records to the array. The problem is that my array is not filling values from the loop. Will i be able to successfully install 2010 beta 2 side by side 2008? because i want to test 2010 features and some development toolkits such as silverlight while i don't want to uninstall my visual studio 2008 professional.

I've tried editing code from the solution and the project. Both produce the error. Usually occurs when adding an "IF...Then..." condition. May work for hours but then crash. Solution will compile and build.

I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

I've created a new Windows Forms Solution in VB2010EXP and tried adding a new Data Source for my new SQL DB, but it keeps giving error message about not having rights ot the db. 2 days of searching on the web has confirmed many others with similar issues, but no obvious solution. I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. My step-by-step guide says choose Visual Basic, Windows Forms Application. But I can't see it as an option.
