The issuse that I running into is that I cannot get my webbrowser1 to auto-click the "Gmail" button at the top left of the page or the "Show me my account" button on the righthand side of the webpage. View 7 RepliesI have managed to automate the following page: https://post.craigslist.org/atl/S/msg/none/x and even click the "Continue" button, but I noticed that my vb 2008 program is creating an infinite loop and tries to click "Continue" buttons on following pages. I only want my program to click the continue button once, fill out more data on the next page and then click another continue button on a later page. But I need the following code to end on the first page before I can continue coding for the following pages so that the web browser doesn't go crazy.Here is the code that I am using and not sure if this is called an infinite loop, but that is what it seems to be doing:

I've got VS2008 and Office2010, but I don't have Office2007. Therefore, I have the Word14 Object Library but not the Word12 Object Library. Will the code that I create for Office2010 automation also work where clients only have Office2007 or will they have to upgrade their office suites?

- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_import on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
I am messing around with some Excel Automation just to get my feet wet and want to call some specific cells in my spreadsheet just for testing. I have one form in the project including a button. My question is how do I tell the button where to navigate to the cell to be tested?

I have written an automation addin in Excel with C# (addin.dll). To use the addin, I need to 1. register it using "regasm /codebase c:...addin.dll"2. select in ExcelOptionsAddInsExcel AddinsAutomation the respective addin from the list

Ok basically what I need to do is the following:Read FirstExcelDoc (attached)For every row in that: Retrieve data from sql server db based on info in the Orange columns of FirstExcelDoc Let's say I retrieved data elements A, B, C, D, and E from sql server. Then I need to enter those same data elements A, B, and C in another excel spreadsheet (which has formulas etc) After inputing A, B, and C in that spreadsheet, read a couple of calculated fields and compare those results to data elements D and E retrieved originally from SQL Server DB. Finally, output the results in the Blue columns of the FirstExcelDoc spreadsheet for that row.Loop through and do the same thing for row 2 of the FirstExcelDoc and keep on until you see "END TEST" in the FirstExcelDoc.
I'm looking for a method of doing this efficiently. I have read several articles over the past few days as well as those from Mike R. but just need some direction to get started on this.To start of I'm looking for whether to read the entire FirstExcelDoc spreadsheet or just read the info for first policy number(2nd row) and process it and write out the blue column info for that row and then loop through and come back and read the second policy number (3rd row) etc... Please attach a code snippet for either way of reading the data.
I'm using excel via interop in application.Sometimes users kill application that created excel instance and that results in excel instance sitting in memory without any chance of disposing it.First I tried to tackle this using ROT(running object table) looks like not all instances of excel are registered there.Than I tried to somehow mark excel process after it is started via interop.[code]This works as long as excel is visible but in my case excel window is invisible.All I need is to somehow mark process that started via automation with the parent PID, so that later I can kill it if parent does not exist.

We have a vb program which is run on our server by scheduled task every day. The program opens about 30 excel files, refreshes the data connections, pivot tables and then saves the document in another location.
This may run fine for a couple days but sooner or later the process starts crashing, usually with this error: RPC_E_SERVERFAULT.
My question is, Is it expected that continually opening/closing/refreshing workbooks will inevitably cause the Excel object to crash at some point.
I'm having an issue where my excel.exe process doesn't close until I close my .net application. I'd like to avoid using Process.Kill() if at all possible.

The only other things not shown in these code snippets are a few string variable that are defined in the class, studentWS, studentsWSPW, paymentsWS and paymentsWSPW My App creates an instance of the class, loads some data, runs the method above, and then sets the class to nothing. View 1 RepliesIn my app I need to fill an excel file with some data. On change of customer the data needs to be on another worksheet, sheet renamed and so on.
The workbook now has 19 sheets (wSheet.Add(,,16), the first worksheet gets renamed to custno. and the sheets gets filled.
But whatever I try, I can't get onto the other worksheets.

I would also like to use an commands to automatically login. But I am not sure how I could do that in a tabbed browser either. Webbrowser1.document.getelementbyid does not work for this.

I am new to this forum - and while I have programmed in VB.Net for some time, I am also new to Office Automation - so please bear with me We are creating a Metrics presentation in Powerpoint 2003.Currently, the presentation is manually created. We are automating this through VB.Net. I figured out how to add the slides from the template. I can modify text boxes and other objects other than the MS Chart objects. I can modify MS Chart objects - but find that after updating the chart, saving it, and closing the application - it apparently doesn't save correctly. When I reopen the presentation, it originally shows up with the changed data. Once I double-click it, however, it doesn't keep the modified data.
I looked at the properties of the graph in VB.Net - and it looks like the chart shape is read-only. I thought of two solutions - one: copy the chart, modify a local copy, and paste it over the original, or two: make the read-only chart writable. Problem is - I'm at a loss for how to complete both of these.As far as the copying of the chart, I found some information about using the .Copy() command, so I cam up with the code

Working with dynamic button. So if i have 5 buttons created dynamicly, i can get alot of information from the button click of that button. You click a button on this app, it will show the name of the button.
But now I want, lets say button 4 to click at 4:45 pm today. Normally I would do something like compare a string to "4:45", and when true, then button 4.Perform_Click.
But button 4 is dynamic, so how do I call that button in my code. How can I address it. I know it will be there when the program is running, I just don't know how to get to it in code.
Now I do have the button names in a database, so I can get the name that I want from there. Just not sure how to tell it, "Do a perform click on button 4" The code below is my test bed, so If you click the main button, it will create a button, and a timer. Click the button that was created, and it will show the button name.

The problem with the following code is that the object oWB is visible and initialized in Form2, but when I show SaveDialog1, the object gives a NullReferenceException. I already know, because I checked in the debugger, that oWB has a valid reference when I leave Form2 and also when I come back from Form2. So I am sure the problem is that the reference simply is not visible in SaveDialog1 for some reason. So please don't tell me that the initialization of oWB returned a Nothing reference because I know it did not.
I get a NullReferenceException on the following line:
Form2.oWB.Save()
I researched this for a whole day and came up with a Microsoft article that explains that it is necessary to run each form of a .NET COM application on its own thread. It gave some code to accomplish this. I incorporated this code into my program. But I still have the NullReferenceException.

I have 2003 xls file which is saved on a web share point. File combines vbs functionalities, of which one is uploading data to this file (from another file on the same share point) by clicking command button.When I open file from my location it all functionalities are working without problems. My customer is running it from his location, he is also using Excel 2003, the moment he wants to upload the data he gets the bug.

If I use a single variable of type Excel.Worksheet to reference Worksheet1, and then change it to Worksheet2, Worksheet3 and so on, is it adequate to simply do "Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject(worksheetVariable)" once at the end? Or would I be left with some references still in memory? In other words, do I need to do a "Marshal.FinalReleaseComObject" before each re-assignment?
