I have a WebBrowser control on one of my forms to provide information to users when they use my program. If the user is connected to the Internet it works fine.But if they are not connected to the internet, it shows the Internet Explorer message saying that there are connection problems.

View 4 RepliesI made a simple application for a website, the site has a IRC-chat and the program should let you close the window (or actually minimize it to the system tray), and then open it from the tray.the problem that occurs, is that I keep getting a Script Error from IE:url...the weird part is that this does not happen when using Internet Explorer on it's own.so it only happens within the WebBrowser Control in the application I made.the application, also, couldn't be more simple, it had just a single window with only a webbrowser control that loads url..., further the program only has a Notification Icon and a Contextual MenuStrip for the Notification Icon.

View 3 RepliesBasically I want to have a picturebox which shows an embedded resource if not connected to the internet, and an online image if connected to the internet.I assume this can be done on the form load event, I just don't know the code for it. Basically this is the logic though:
-If 'http:/[url].... is available (therefore connected to internet)
-Picturebox1.Image = http:[url].....
-Else[code].....
How can I code that properly? Would putting it in the form load event work?

WebBrowser1.Navigate("www.google.com"), it doesn't load. It opens the same webpage you get when you try to navigate to a page and you're not connected to the internet. Also, I opened a webpage that was saved on my computer, and that webpage had a link to a website on the internet, and when I clicked on it, it worked just fine! It's not my internet, what is it then? Here's the snippet of my code:

But my problem is how to get the default one, the one(ethernet adapter) through wich user is connected to internet?I need to change some settings of default(through wich user is connected to internet) adapter. settings i change through registry so i could sample add same settings for each network interface but that could cause problems and makes no point then?

For example, internet explorer object is easier to debug because when the application is in debug mode, internet explorer object is still interactive with client. I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
