I am adding characters to a RichTextBox one character at a time and setting the format of that character after it is added. The following code is a distillation of the actual code but reliably repeats the problem I am having.[code..]
While that is odd to me and unexpected, where it happens in the code is even stranger. By stepping through the code, prematurely going to the End Sub and then displaying the form, I was able to determine that when i = 3 and the line "Me.RichTextBox1.Text
= Me.RichTextBox1.Text & "S" is exceuted, the color of the first two "S" are changed from Blue and Red to all BLUE.
I do not understand.a way to add characters to a RichtextBox and set the formatting of those characters?
This example is just color. I the real project I am setting Size, Color, Bold and Italics. I do not know if the solution to this color problem will affect the other formatting information.[code...]
I am capturing a few system command messages (namely minimize/maximize/restore). Inside the WndProc override I am trying to change the form's Me.ShowInTaskbar value but it is causing weird behavior in that minimization and restoration does not occur properly.Can anyone think of a reason why changing this property would interfere with this? The reason I don't really want to post code is because duplicating the effect takes a bit of code/setup. My initial thought was that changing the property's value is somehow sending another windows message and canceling the one I am currently manipulating. I realize this is a little vague but it's a shot in the dark.
I am trying to change color of a selectedtext in Rich TextBox.When user check color radio button it should change the color of the selected text.I have 4 radio buttons inside groupbox.Can someone tell me how do i select text and change color.Below is my code but its not working as expected.[code]....
So I have a Vertical Scroll which enables you to change the Foreground color of the highlighted text inside the Rich TextBox. Here is the code of the Vertical scroll named Vscrollbar1:
It does indeed work. Then I have a button that makes the Rich Textbox not Visible. Using Richtextbox1.visible=False Then I have an open button, which makes it Visible again. But what I wanted is that the text inside the Rich Textbox to be color Black; but the color of the from the scroll keeps appearing. Here is my code for the Close Button:
My Code: For Each dr In dt.Rows() If (cnt = 0) Then tx_control2.Text = dr("Name").ToString.Trim Else tx_control2.Text = tx_control2.Text + Environment.NewLine + dr("Name").ToString.Trim End If cnt = cnt + 1 Next ' for row
Using above code to add all names from datatable to Textbox using Environment.NewLine. This is adding all names in Textbox. Now I want different color for alternate names. I used : tx_control2.ForeColor = Color.Maroon But above solution change the color of all names.
I have a program that checks for the color under the mouse pointer. I also stores what I think is the RGB (could someone confirm this?) value for that color in a Rich text box and next to that in a text box the coordinates of the mouse at that time.The idea is to be able to measure the times between the bounces of a tennis ball in a video. The background is black and the tennis ball is another color.I wasnt sure how to say "if color is not similar to black... Do this"So my plan was to set the richtextbox font color to itself - as it is an RGB value. But thats difficult, it wants to change ALL the text in the RichTextBox, not just the current Value.Basically Ideally I would like it if it recorded the times between significant changes in color of the pixel and displayed them.
I have several multi-line textboxes that I want to lose focus (i.e. when the user presses the right arrow key) but the control wil not relinquish the focus.Simply put, I first verify if the selection start is at the end of the text, if it is, and the user presses the arrow key, it should move to the next textbox. some debug.print code placed in strategic locations indicates that the target textbox gets focus and immediately loses it and the source textbox gains focus once again. Essentially not allowing the textbox to lose focus.
Select Case Case Keys.Right tbRight.Focus()
[code]....
After changing the source textbox multi-line property to false, it behaves as expected. Is this a "feature" .. surely I don't have to resort to "SendKeys"
How do I do text formatting in a Text Box? I want to bold a selection on a textbox without affecting the rest of the text. HOw do I do this with Textbox and RichText formattting?

I am adding characters to a RichTextBox one character at a time and setting the format of that character after it is added. The following code is a distillation of the actual code but reliably repeats the problem I am having.The code should place a Blue "S", a Red "S" and a Green "S" in to the RichTextBox when i = 3.

I am using vb.net and I have an asp.net application where I use ExcelPackage. I wanted to know how to set the background color of a particular cell or a row of cells.
i just want to know if it is possible to store the formatting of a text to ms sql so that the next time i retrieve a record that i've already formatted, it will display the format that i did for that record.if possible, how would i implement it in mssql?
I have been using custom shapes for some time now but the pixels always have to be 100% solid or it mixes with the color I have set as transparent and its starting to get a bit annoying. Is there any way possible that I could take a png image with transparent pixels and use that as my custom shape without the transparent pixels becoming that color I chose? This is what I have: I want to put my image as the background without the purple being where the transparent pixels are. Me.Backcolor = Color.Purple Me.Transparencykey = Color.Purple
I want to set Color to specific cell in DataGridView as in this code , but didn't accept BackColor property. Form1.DataGridView1.CurrentRow.Cells(3)......BackColor
MVC3 VB.NET application using Itextsharp. I have a section of code that generates a pdf file everything looks great but I would like to alternate the line colors in that pdf file between 2 color so that the values are easy to follow for the person looking at it. Is there a way to set the background color of a whole line based on font size to a set color? A function I would be using this in is below:
[Code]...
I thought about just setting the background color of the line by using the y_line1 and using a modulus to determine if the color should be grey or white. But I have found no code samples anywhere about how to set a whole line background color..
Okay so I've got something, where when a button(Button1) is pressed, Text Appears in the RichTextBox When you press Button2, I want more text, in the same textbox, to be on a different line. I can get the text on the SAME line, but not a different one.
everyone! I've been at this for a while, and I'm not sure how this issue can be resolved:I'm working on a project in VB.Net, and I have a form with a rich text box. I have a groupbox with 4 radio buttons inside that are intended to change the font color of the text. Coincidentally, I have to repeat this same functionality for a 2nd set of radio buttons that would change the text font family.
At any rate what I've only been able to do is the following to successfully change the font color of whatever text I highlight in the rich text box:
Private Sub rbtnBlack_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rbtnBlack.CheckedChanged rtbxTextEditor.SelectionColor = Color.Black End Sub Private Sub rbtnRed_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rbtnRed.CheckedChanged
[Code]...
Is there a way that I could write a sub (I'm assuming I would use a sub, since I don't think I need to return anything, thus eliminating the use of a function) that would handle the action of changing the selected text color in the rich text box without having to use a separate sub for each radio button? Mind you, per my teacher's specs, she doesn't use a button handler for any of this.
how to set header color for tabpages in WINFORMS. and also the back color.
In my code. For j = 0 To dataset4Category(i).Tables.Count - 1 Dim Finder As Integer = Decimal.Floor(((dataset4Category(i).Tables(0).Rows.Count) / 30)) key = dataset4Category(i).DataSetName name = Space(1) & StrConv(dataset4Category(i).Tables(0).TableName, VbStrConv.ProperCase) & Space(4) myTabControl.TabPages.Add(key, name) myTabControl.TabPages(j).Tag = 0
I started to learn VB.NET and I'm trying to do a syntax highlight. The problem occurs when I set the color of selected text. It changes the whole richtextbox's content.
Private Sub txtText_TextChanged_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rtbText.TextChanged Dim keywords As ArrayList Dim index As Integer Dim keyboardCursorPosition As Integer [Code] .....
