How do I search for the words with the same font size (e.g. 15) in a rich text box and put the words into a list box? For example, consider a dictionary whose word entries are of size 15 and the rests are of 12. So how do I put all word entries into a list box and then the description (of size 12) in another list box. I am using visual basic 2010. I've tried regex but couldn't find a way of specifying the font size.Consider the bold letters of size 15 and the rests of 12.[code](physics) hypothetical truly fundamental particle in mesons and baryons; there are supposed to be six flavors of quarks (and their antiquarks), which come in pairs; each has an electric charge of +2/3 or -1/3
The reported size is 10. Can someone explain the difference here? My hunch is that VB6 is using a .75 step because my system is configured at 96 DPI, and .NET is not using said step, or not reporting its usage, but I'm not sure.
I set the font size and style using Vb code as i'm designing a Notepad like application, and when i start a new form i want to reset all the settings. Everything else is working, i'm just having a hard time working these out.
I have some WORD files, which are formatted using bold, italic and colors etc. I want to copy entire content of word file into SQL Server table using Visual Basic.NET.I have a RichTextBox on my form and used datatype nvarchar(max) to store Unicode Hindi data. Everything is working fine... data insert and retrieve is OK, but formatting is GONE.
I'm reading in values from an array of arbitrary size into a text box. Easy enough. However, in my application, certain values of the data are unusable and I'd like to give a visual warning to the user when this occurs. Whenever the data is either negative or greater than 10, I'd like to display that value in red. How can I do this with a RTB?
Are there standard controls for formatting, which I can add to the form or the toolbar? I mean font selector, text size selector, bold button, and so on. OR do I have to create them myself. If they are standard,l how do I add them? I can't find any such thing in the toolbox.
I have a program that checks for the color under the mouse pointer. I also stores what I think is the RGB (could someone confirm this?) value for that color in a Rich text box and next to that in a text box the coordinates of the mouse at that time. The idea is to be able to measure the times between the bounces of a tennis ball in a video. The background is black and the tennis ball is another color.I wasnt sure how to say "if color is not similar to black... Do this"So my plan was to set the richtextbox font color to itself - as it is an RGB value. But thats difficult, it wants to change ALL the text in the RichTextBox, not just the current Value.Basically Ideally I would like it if it recorded the times between significant changes in color of the pixel and displayed them.
I have a number of text boxs that gather data and put it in a combined string in a rich text box that displays all of the collected data. Some of the text boxes require data pasted from other sources however when that data is then copied from the rich text box to the clipboard through a routine, it loses its formatting. home to maintain the original formating?
I have a rich text box ('RichTextBox1') and a button ('BoldButton'), and have it set up so that whenever the user highlights some text in the box and clicks the bold button, that text becomes bold. That much I've figured out...
Public Class Form1 Private Sub BoldButton_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BoldButton.Click Dim Bold As New Font(RichTextBox1.Font, FontStyle.Bold) RichTextBox1.SelectionFont = Bold End Sub End Class
But I'd also like to add the ability that if the user highlights text that is already bolded, then clicks the bold button, that text will go back to 'regular' font. In other words, I'd like the 'bold' button to be able to toggle between bold and regular font.
I have a rich text box that have a paragraph in it (the parragraph may change). The user is able to decide what type and/or size of font he whishes to view the text in. My problem is that not more that an average of four words per line should be displayed per line. My idea was to size the rtb so that it automatically wrap the text to and average of 4 words per line. This I would do by determining the average width of a word (number of characters) in the paragraph, multiplying it by the width in pixels or twips of a character and then multiplying by 4 to get the average required length of a line. It does not need to be exact as long as I can get as close as possible to 4 words per line. Sample text:
My Father walks to the market every day to buy fresh bread and milk for the house.
My Father walks to the market every day to buy fresh bread and milk for the house.
Notice some lines may be slightly longer as long as the average is 4 words per line.My problem is that I dont know how to determine the width of a character in order to ultimately determine the width of a sentence.
I had an old program that I upgraded from VB6 to VB 2008. I am creating a program similar to it in VB 2008. There is a piece of code that I tried to enter into the program I am creating now from my old program. It tells the computer that if the label's text is a certain text that is on the clipboard, then the text size will be smaller.
If LabelAbsent.Text = My.Computer.Clipboard.GetText Then Label104.Font = VB6.FontChangeSize(Label10.Font, 8)
When I insert this code into my new program, it doesn't recognize the "VB6" in the code. How can I get the same result in the program I am currently creating?
Within our application, some of the object's text are effected by users with "Large font" turned on under Control Panel>>Graphic Properties. I can't determine what is the trigger to this behavior. I have many forms including TableLayoutPanels, ComponentOne Sizers, some objects with DOCK=Fill, and AUTOSIZE=TRUE. I wrote a simple Hello World form, and it is not impacted by the "large font" setting.
I have created a Richtextbox, which produces text based on user-inputted variables as well as some basic formatting - eg: name = txtname.text richtextbox1.text = "Hello my name is " & name & "." What i want to do is set the text in the name variable in Italics when it is displayed, like this.
I want to modify the default Object text size for all objects I place on my form. When I am teaching, it is hard to see the text on the objects. I have changed the code area to 16 pt, but I have not seen how to modify the default font size of the object. They all are 8.8 pt.
I can't change change the font size or font name or color of the text in the DHTML Editing Control. I have 2 listbox controls FontNameList containing all of the installed fonts on my PC and FontSizeList containing some numbers to be used as fontsize and I use the execommand and build my App but the font did not change instead it grew bigger but when I tryed to change it back it stayed the same. The Code for that was:
In VB10/win forms project, when I change the forms font size the form and all the controls on the form get larger or smaller, OK great! The problem is the combo boxes then appear with their text highlighted. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong, simple example..
I am creating an excel report from vb.net. Now it works. But i realize that the apparent does not make sense. I just want enlarge some font size and change font name plus setting up the page to fit my receipt printer (Epson TM-T88IV).
I have a label which appears full screen on a projector (VGA 2). In this label I will be sending strings. Some one liner's, some wrapped paragraphs. Some multi-line with carrage returns. My goal is to have the font dynamically change size to be as large as possible without overflowing the fixed label size.
Whats the font size real meaning? since when i use Arial font size 10 in the report its gonna take different space than the textbox im using (Both using exactly same font type/size/unit) its kinda if i set 10 milimiters to the font size why would the i and M for example have so diferent size.
i wish it was like in the Notepad where all the letters take the same space. what i need its to give a certain texbox(in the report) with auto grow to have always the same lines of height but its not posible to calculate it from vb b4 being inputed to the report.
I had set a print format to print some word in a Text box, when I input the text in text box is an normal size from system, but I want it print out to printer follow the Rectangle size that is was set to print out on paper.actuary i want it can auto size the font size follow by the length of string.
I'm new to VB in Visual Studio 2008 and am just trying out some simple test.I just want to change the Font & Boldness of some text but get the following errorProperty 'Size' is Read onlyI have been browsing the forums and it seems that changing the font size etc isn't as simple as
Okay here's what I'm trying to do. I want to change the font size of a label based on the size of the form.If the form size is 0 through let's say 500 I want the label size to be 50. How can I write this?
I'm writing a couple of custom controls in VB.Net 3.5, in VS2008, and would like to resize the font size based on the height of the control, and vice-versa. Is there any way of converting a font of say 38.25pts into a me.height, or the other way round?
I realise the font width will change dependent on the font used (which isn't an issue for my purposes), but as far as I know, the font height is usually consistent Accessibility/Large font settings won't be an issue with this application.
I have 3 rich textboxes on my form and I need to extract the data from box 1 and box 2 and put it into box 3 without losing the formatting (as you know richtext boxes can support colour and picture formatting that i currently have in box 1 and 2). I tried the following but it strips all the formatting from box 1 and box 2.
I have a checkbox in my options form to change every every font size in the form to something like "20" when it's checked. is there a way to globally change the font size of everything when the checkboxes checkstate becomes checked.
I have a RichTextBox. I process all the formatting and everything works fine. There is an exception. When I have selected text that have two states of formatting in it, the SelectionFont member is set to Nothing. I notice that WordPad recognizes this condition and kindof greys out the affected format.
Let's take this example: This text is in Bold. The rest of the comments here and not in bold.
When I select these two lines, the SelectionFont gets set to Nothing. WordPad sets the Bold button grey, but still clickable. If I click the Bold button in this state, the entire selection is set to bold. How do I achieve this same functionality?
I have a rich text box which I use in order the user is able to add pictures, coloured writing, different font etc... however I need to load specific text in the rich text box when the user load the Form.how I can add (I guess) the HTML to load this every time the user load the form.
P.S the text will change depending on who loads the form so I can not do a simple
RichTextBox1.LoadFile("C:Documents and SettingsDesktopSigniture.rtf")
I have a richtextbox with multiple colored text in it. When I change the font, the color table is removed and everything changes to the default fore color. Anyone know of a why to preserve the color table and formatting when changing the font? I know I could build the RTF manually, but I really want to avoid that if possible.
I have the Context Menu Options like ( Small Font , Large Font ) based on the selection I want to change the size of the Font in the Controls,Control's Size & location(x,y,height, width). The resize of the controls should not affect the look and feel of the forms.
