I need to produce a list of checked entries from a CheckedListBox whenever an item changes, but that ItemCheck event gets thrown before the item's status is actually changed so the checked items list is incorrect.I found a forum post telling to use the SelectedIndexChanged event instead, but that won't work if the user checks the item using the space bar.My two alternatives are to :1. Use the ItemCheckEventArgs to figure out what item changed and how. Since the code that gets the list of checked items is a few methods down on the calls hierachy, I would need to pass the event args around (or more likely an homemade representation of its data for consistency).
2. Use a class member boolean to see if I'm in the ItemCheck event handler and set the item's checked state to its correct value before calling the method that does the processing. The boolean is used to avoid an infinite call of the event handler, it would just return without any processing in the case the event handler is in the call stack itself.
Does anyone know of a reliable way to cancel the ItemCheck event on a CheckedListBox? I am in a situation where the ItemCheck event should basically discard changes on a form, however, if the person decides to cancel the discard I would like the ItemCheck event not to fire so as not to change anything.

We have a winform application using Oracle DataAccessClient.There is a gridview and textboxes where we when we click on a row we can populate the textboxes to show more of the data so the user does not have to scroll horizontally.The code that does this is in the cell click event. We want to also do this if the user presses the up or down arrow. We put the code in the PreviewKeyDown event but we are getting the row that had the focus rather than the row that has the current arrow pointing to it. We searched the web at a lot of forums but we can not seem to locate how to do it. How do we move the focus to the row the arrow is pointing to in the grid? [code]

In code behind i selected the datagrid and double click event. when i double click on teh grid in debug mode, it never fires off the event(i put a breakpoint in). I've tried several other events and none of them are firing.

View 3 RepliesI have a userControl11 (either in winform or wpf) which has a ValueChanged custom event. If I put it in client form and in form_load set its value to 100, it will trigger the ValueChanged event. But if I set this value inside the constructor of UserControl1 the custom event won't trigger. How can I force it to do so ?whatever the technical reason, functionally it does make sense. If the object is initializing its value from some sources unknown to the client form and the client form has a textbox bound to this usercontrol value, it is sure convenient that it could refresh its textbox at any time including when the form loads just using one single event handler. Without this the client form has to create another initializer for this bound textbox at form load.

Unfortunately, all this does is combine all of the checkboxes into one list (ChxLstSym), and leave the other lists (ChxLstAud and ChxLstEx) completely blank. By this I mean ChxLstSym ends up having 15 checkboxes instead of each of the 3 Lists having 5 checkboxes (Which is how it was before I saved and Loaded), though it does remember which boxes were checked originally.
Is there a way to fix this so that I can save and load the checked states for all three of the checklistboxes (ChxLstSym, ChxLstAud, and ChxLstEx) so that they are all in their own lists upon loading them?

i am trying to add subjects and their corresponding grades to a table in you database. the table has these fields: Table1(subjCode,stdID,Grade1,Grade2,Grade3,Grade4,Grade5,Grade5,Grade6,Grade7,Grade8)And i have a checked listbox for the subjects and another for the grades. for each subject, the re are 8 items in the chklistbox, checked. The code should insert into the database a subject and its coresponding 8 grades
but when i try to Save i gives me an exception that index out of range(index was out of the bounds of the array)

i have problem here regarding update data when i checked value in checklistbox control.no problem when i want to insert data for the first time, but got problem when i want to update it where the previous data that i checked is still available, plus the latest data i checked. Thats means I got multiple data in my database.

I use a list to keep track of the items in the listbox, so if I remove one of those items from the listbox I want to also remove it from the list using the same index.If you use this code and load the form and then check all the items, youll notice that when you uncheck one it will remove the item and THEN also uncheck the next item...why is that?
