I have a wireless handheld Barcode terminal that is running Windows CE 4,1 .net
And i use a Program that is called Mamut Enterprise E4. I am also using VB 2008 to try to code in. how to communicate?
I am a student and I am about to make a program that will use a barcode scanner well ofcourse to scan a barcode. My problem is i don't know what library to use and what certain things i need to do so that when i am going to scan a barcode it'll be something like show it on a textbox and pull something from the database. i've actually research some. i've seen mscomm1 (not so sure about that) and POS for .net (haven't fully understood its use) were those will help me develop my program?i have a metrologic ms9520 Voyager barcode scanner. and i am going to create a program for it in vb2005.
I have an application that will run on a terminal similar to a micros terminal. The terminal is already running another vendors app that captures the users logon ID from a swipecard. I need to capture the same logon ID at the same time. This is no problem, I just hook it.
The problem is I have another app which also captures swipes. In development I am running both apps for testing. It appears that when I unhook one app it unhooks both. Rehook and all is fine. As my two apps will never be on the same terminal this is not a problem. What I am concerned about is the vendors app unhooking mine or the other way around.
I would of thought that each app would have it's own ID and that each hook would be independent. I have considered finding a way to determine if a global hook is present and then use some logic to decide on unhooking or not but can't find anything.
We are developing an application in VB.NET that will need to accomodate remote users logging onto a Microsoft Terminal Server using RDP through the MSTSC.exe client.
Is it possible to offer an 'Upload' button which will allow the remote user to pick a file from his/her local hard drive and upload to the server ?
I chose Visual Basic 8 as a computer interface to communicate through RS232 (serial) to my microcontroller, which in turn will do its own thing to transmit data it receives from the VB GUI through wireless
I have used VB before but it's been a long time. I looked at some of the settings and it looks like it has a SerialPort com component I can use. Will it suffice for this project?Might be a simple question, but just want some tips from experienced developers.
I am using Richard L. Grier's Enhanced Serial Port dll to read input from a serial port barcode scanner I notice that the datareceived event fires only once per barcode scan, but the delegate sub fires twice per barcode scan. Once for 1st half of Barcode , 2nd for 2nd part of barcode This makes it hard to capture the full barcode so it can be passed to routines in my vb.net 2008 windows application In Richard's example 'Test Enhanced Port' program he sends it to a textbox using .selectedtext and it works fine Richards Delegate code ......................
Public Delegate Sub DisplayData(ByVal Buffer As String) 'This delegate routine marshals receive data from the receive thread context DataReceived to the Windows Form STAThread context Private Shared Sub Display(ByVal Buffer As String)
[code]....
I am trying to set a variable to the full barcode to pass to routines, instead of writing to a textbox but am not having any success
I was wondering about something: is there a way to communicate with another program/process on the PC without using files? What would this look like? Is there a search term I can use to get more info? This is not a vb.net question per se, but a general software question.
I have written a couple vb.net applications to run on a workabout pro scanner by PSION. Each time I have had the data saved in a datatable. And when I need data loaded on the scanner I load it into a datatable. Is this the best way to do it? Or is there a specific type of database supported? These scanners run Windows CE.
What I am looking for here is a way to possibly click a button inside a web browser control and have it call a sub from inside the program or have the program react to something on the page. I am trying to make a HTML5 GUI for my application. I don't really want use any 3rd party API's to handle commands from a HTML5 interface but if I can find another alternative that would be good. But if there is no other way I would be content with using a 3rd party API.
I have created a Windows service that acts as a server for my app on a mobile platform. Whenever a user sends a message to my app I process it . Now i Would like to send the message that the user sent to my server to an application. Something like SendMessage would be absolutely perfect But how do you fit a whole class into the Wparam and Lparam 's of a window message ?
Im creating an EPOS system and nearing the end of the application.I need to connect my newly acquired barcode reader to the form in vb.net so that whenever I scan an item in the items ID number appears in the necessary textbox. After some research I have bought the relevant barcode reader making sure it supports the relevant barcodes including retail.I have plugged it into the computer through the usb port, it has installed automatically all of the relevant drivers, and below is the code Im using in vb.The below code is include for where the form loads up:Me.KeyPreview = True
I want to make a chat box and a lan chat box looks pretty simple, but i want to make it to where you have to have wifi to chat wirelessly. Is is possible to have a wireless chat box?
I am trying to use the Windows wireless API to automatically configure wireless settings in VB .Net. The documentation url... states 'The Native Wifi API is designed for C/C++ developers'. can I use this API from within VB and will I have to use a C/C++ wrapper and if so how? [code]
How do I, programmicly, connect to a wireless network. I have already got with networks are avalible, now I'm looking into creating a 'Connect' button.
i'm using Visual Basic 2008 - Office 2007 - addin for ppt.
ok i'm going to delete the other thread. i'm going to rephrase and try to explain as clearly as possible.
I need to find a code that (when i click the "Search" Button) will start searching for all available lan and wireless connections.
All the available selections will be shown in a List Box provided.
Once i find one i want to use, i can stop the search (by pressing another button "Stop" in this case) or just straight away click the one i want and press another button ("Select" in this case) and if it needs a password or WEP then it will display or it will just connect without asking.
Is there a way that VB.net can identify the encryption type of a wireless network? Just identify it, i'm not looking to do anything further than that and yet just about every search result i get from google wants to tell me how to sniff wep keys etc. Don't care, just want to know what type of encryption the network is using?
I want to create a small app to add my wireless profile to our 800+ laptops that are reimaged once a year. I'm going to deploy this app using the MDT/WDS.
I'd like to build a program which shares files between two computers. My method for doing that is setting up a home network, basically, on one computer, put a file there, and share that file on the network. The other computer would then connect to the network (through my application) and find the file and read it. I know this is very long. I would just like you to help me start up.How do I create a wireless network ENTIRELY THROUGH VB during the initial setup of the application? I don't want the user to deal with creating the network himself.
When the user it's connected trough the wired connection it works just fine, the user doesn't need any authentication, because the smtp has granted access to the subnet of the wired lan.But if the user it's connected by wireless, i can't send any email because the wireless subnet doesn't have granted access. Even if i provide valid credentials the smtp client doesn't use them... An exception occurs with something related to relay to the email address....How can i solve this situationMS Outlook works fine either on wired or wireless, so how can i code my app to authenticate and send the email authenticated.
SAmple Code: Dim smtpCliente As New SmtpClient(My.Settings.SmtpServer, My.Settings.SmtpPort) smtpCliente.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential(My.Settings.AD_User,
I have a question. Is it possible to use VB to check wireless connection on a router? I was looking at my WIFI router and I am able to see my LAN connections and wireless clients. Then it hit me that if a router is able to do that can I write an application to do the same without entering the router administration. If possible the i would like to check the wireless connections and identify rougue connections or wireless clients not in my list of approval.( either hard coded or a xml file)
I need to develop a communication between two computer using wireless medium like wifi is there any namespace or control in .net which support this type of communication i know i have to define protocol to understand communication but i need start ......
