I need a hand with something i need to translate the following code to VB...

im having some difficutly with syntax etc.
public void Attach()

deviceHandle = capCreateCaptureWindow(string.Empty, WS_VISIBLE | WS_CHILD, 0, 0, (int)this.ActualWidth -150, (int)this.ActualHeight, new WindowInteropHelper(this).Handle, 0);

I have this code in c:

Ive been trying to translate part of a code using this websites : http:[url]...
But I could not make it work specially this part :

lastImageUploadDetails = uploader.UploadImage(txtFilePath.Text, resizeWidth, resizeHeight);
};[code
I have a hashing method whose operations depend on input to the function. Profiling the program has shown that too much time is spent evaluating this hash method. I want to try changing it into an expression tree, so the inner loop checks can be done once.
Here is a simplified version of the function (I undid some obvious optimizations for the example, and took out any input validation):
Private Function Checksum(ByVal inputValues As IEnumerable(Of UInt32),
ByVal declarations As IEnumerable(Of String),
ByVal statements As IEnumerable(Of String)) As UInt32
Dim variables = New Dictionary(Of Char, UInt32)
[code]....
I want to create a function which takes the declarations and statements and outputs a specialized expression tree representing a function which takes an IEnumerable of UInt32 and returns a UInt32.Follow-Up:I succeeded, and the speed-up was ridiculous (an order of magnitude). The main things I had to learn where:Use Expression.Lambda and Expression.Compile to get a delegate you can actually use.The Expression.Block factory method has a 'variables' parameter you (essentially) use to declare locals.Expression.lambda has 'parameters'.If you call Expression.Parameter twice, you're dealing with two different variables (even if their name is the same)! Store the result for later usage. Same for labels, etc.The result of a BlockExpression is the last expression in the block.
I have a line of C# code and can't translate it correctly. 'myString' is a string and 'a' and 'k' are both UInt:a += (uint)(myString[k + 0] + (myString[k + 1] << 8) + (myString[k + 2] << 16) + (myString[k + 3] << 24)); Translators for VB suggest the following but I get "Operator '<<' is not defined for types 'Char' and 'Integer': a += CUInt(myString(k + 0) + (myString(k + 1) << 8) + (myString(k + 2) << 16) + (myString(k + 3) << 24))

The XLSNombre is a variable with the name of the excel file that has been set before. The connection I have in .NET is to SQL server (but is the same). How can I use this code (or..how can I make this code work for .NET) or what is the equivalent of this for .NET? I found some solutions but with inserts of single rows or I have to set the title of the columns, I dont find any "simple" solution to do an "insert into" (like the code I use in VB6).

View 14 RepliesI'm working on a Hazardous Materials label printing program. One of the options is to do an "NFPA" label. Since there are 4 values required with 4 or 6 options, the ratings are entered via radio buttons in a group box. That's working okay. I display values in the NFPA diamond as they're entered: left quadrant blue, top quadrant red, left yellow, bottom red. I'm having trouble with the label in which the rating will be displayed on top of a jpg diamond for the white. In this quadrant the text can be up to 4 characters. I can accept the text going into an adjacent block a little, but the corners of the label overlap into another quadrant/color. I reduced the font size which solved the overlap problem but the font is then too small and looks terrible. I tried to make the background of the label transparent to let the color come through correctly but that's not a valid value for label.background. I'm figuring that the transparent background is the best solution. What can I use that will accept a transparent background so the color shows through?
I'm trying to set the transparent property via label properties properties, not via code. Here's the code if it makes any difference:
Public Class NFPA
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Close()
End Sub

It looks like this: Itis stripping out HTML characters.
Imports System.Text.RegularExpressions

UPDATE:standard VB.NET puts modules in the namespace defined in your project.I had to type
MVCApplication1.Foo.Bar
how to create a module that doesn't wrap this into a namespace? Or have the view import the application namespace by default?
I have an application which is grouped in a MainApplication and serveral Modules (DLL's) The Main Application is basicly a Form with a NavigationBar on the Left Side (like in Outlook 2003) and an MDI-Parent. There is also a Simple Login Routine on this Form. I store the UserName after Loggingn to a Property. The DLL's holds functionallity and Forms for various Sections for example there is a Employee.dll which holds functions and a form to show all Employees.
On Loading of the Main Application I loop trough all dll's in a "Module"-Folder and extract NavigationItems from them which I add to the MainForms NavigationPanel. I don't have a reference to the Modules because I want to make it as flexible as possible so that it is possible to delete a Dll form the Module directory in order to remove the functionality from the MainApplication. The Modules could work also without the MainApplication if they are Complied as an exe insted of DLL of course. This works fine so far.

I have a sub (Sub 1)that passes a control to another sub (Sub2) Sub2 only knows that the control will either be a picturebox ("Pict1") or a rich textbox ("Rchtxbx").I want to put code in Sub2 that does the following if the control that is passed is aPictureBox:ictureBox1.Load("C est.bmp")However I don't know how to do this as when I type in "x" in Sub2, it does not default to the PictureBox properties and methods.Is it possible to use the name of a control and wrap it in some sort of ControlType() enclosure that identifies its type and grants access to its properties and methods?
