I would like to be able to add every combination of a list of numbers to determine which combinations equal a specific result.
Simple Example:
List: 2, 4, 6
Result: 10
How many and which combinations of numbers result in the number 10? The correct anwser is only one which is 4 + 6 = 10. The example is simple but the actual list may contain as many as 10 - 15 decimal numbers.
I have thought of the following as a possible way of checking each combination by using binary:
- There are 3 total number so the possible combinations would be:
123 - Three numbers
000 - Add no numbers
001 - Add the last number

However, I don't know how to actually match up the bitwise bits to the numbers in the array to actually add. Example:
101 - I should check if 2 + 6 != 10 per the example above so this wouldn't satisfy the result... does this make sense? The answer would be 4 + 6 = 10.

I'm trying to work out with visual basic. I need to calculate the probability of having a certain sum when randomly choosing 5 of 36 possible numbers. I already know all of the 36 possible numbers, and I know what the total number of possibilities is, I just need to write some code that will list all of the possible sums for me when you add any five of those thirty six numbers together. Ideally I would be able to also have it count how many of a certain sum occurred, but even if I could just have them as a list and I just count the instances, that would be fine too.

When this PDF is generated, however, the image is appearing larger than expected, and is distorted:
I can't see anywhere where I'm setting the image to be a specific size, so why would it distort like this? And how can I prevent it?
It's crucial that this image remains the size it is intended to be so that it can be read by barcode scanners.

I'm making an application in vb.net and during the development has arisen the need to make a form greater than the screen resolution.For example:
Screen resolution: 1280x800 and 2560x1600 sizes form
Obviously, the form should
not have scrollbars.
Screen Size of my deployment screen is larger than my development screen.
If i try to set my form size larger than my development screen size, IDE doesnot accepts this.

I am trying to get a small bitmap from a larger image. something like

However this just gets the entire picture not just a portion of it, I would like to do something like this where I can specify the starting and stoping points

Okay: I've been searching the threads and MSDN and elsewhere and either its not there or I am simply not understanding what I am finding.I have an image which at full resolution is larger than my screen (actually it is larger than any screen). I want to be able to look at parts of it at full resolution in a client area that is the size of the entire image at full res; that is, I want the window to exist without any scroll bars and want to be able to examine different parts of the image by repositioning the window on the desktop.
In general, I've run into trouble insofar as windows (or maybe VB) won't let me make my window any larger than my operative desktop (although interestingly it will let me place the window to the North-West of my visible screen). What it won't let me do so far is to grow my window any larger than my desktop.
So far I have noodled a couple of different possibilities, in descending order of preference:
(1) Find some way to exempt my window from the limitation that it be smaller than the desktop;
(2) Virtually increase the size of my desktop so that it is as large or larger than my image (i.e., find some way of exempting my desktop from the limitation that the desktop represent the dimensions of the screen/monitor -- understanding that those two are not the same);
(3) Simulate a multi-monitor configuration (I'll probably need at least four); or
(4) Actually configure my system for four+ monitors (I don't even know whether that's possible, but its certainly not my first choice).
Does any one have any other ideas or suggestions as to how I ought to proceed?[URL]..

Problem is, I have a If..Then..Else clause inside of this For Each..Next which says something to the effect of:
If actual_class = value Then
txt.Text = "Welcome"
Else
txt.Text = "Goodbye"
When I run this, unless the individual is the last value in the string array ("SR5") they are going to get the message "Goodbye"...so, I need somehow to both iterate through each value like is done with a For Each..Next loop but also break out of the loop once it hits the student's class, like a Do..While loop - so that their value doesn't get overrun by the Else clause.
How to handle event when I press Alt+X in combination?. I am coding VB.Net in my Windows App and I want to run some routine when user presses this combination but I am unable to handle both keys. Event fires for single key and not for combination of both keys.

P2foodarea is a large picture box I created. I only want the apple to spawn on P2Foodarea, atm, it spawns on P1Foodarea which is very weird. P1foodarea is a whole other picture box. I even made new variables as you can see P2ax and P2ay, but it still doesn't spawn on P2Foodarea. I have even tried recreating a new picture box for P2foodarea
