I have to create a SQL server DB that has a table named people with, people_id int PK IDENTITY, firstName varChar(30), lastName varChar(40 (completed) create a windows program that lists the firstName and lastName combined with a space detween them in a listBox (completed)provide functionality in code using command objects/parameters (no wizards) to add and delete from database and reflect the changes in the listBox..I am having trouble with the delete. I am in a situation where I have a tool which is always running. Now if any new entry is added or deleted from the database then unless we dont restart the application it will not reflect the changes. So I want that the application itself should check for the updates or at least it should refresh itself.

I am currently developing an application that is linked to a MS SQL Server 2008 Database. So now I realised that I needed to make a few minor changes to the database (add new columns to some tables, change the data type of a few columsn in some tables). After making the changes, I realised that these changes have not been updated in my VB application's dataset. I then tried to "refresh" the dataset, but it still is not updating the dataset. What do I need to do to update the dataset to reflect the changes in the database?

I am doing project in vb.net using ms access I used listview to display data from table I want to display different context menu strip for different column I have done it using hard logic to get column number is as follows:

My apologies I have posted this in the wrong catagory It should be in VB.net, my mistake)Hi guys I posted this question at the end of another topic I started but I think it will be over looked as the origional topic was solved of the dreamincode community You must all be getting sick of my quexstions by now haha I suppose you don't learn if you dont ask.
Anyway I have used the delete sql method to delete data from a database, I want to refresh the data in the form after the record has been deleted. Do I have to close the form and then open an new instance of it? or is there another way I can refresh the data?

How is it possible to delete all the items from a ListBox that have the same extension? This is in particular to video files that have have extensions of .mpg, .modd and .moff. I can populate the ListBox with just the .mpg files but I would like to know how I can remove the other file types should I put the whole lot in.Also, presumably using similar coding, it it posssible to highlight all lines with a particular extension?

I have the below code that works great, until you have multiples of the same thing.example of data
burger
-tomato
+tomato[code].....
if i select the +tomato in wrap it remmoves the +tomato in burger (deleting the 1st oocurance of it) how can i fix that. i have played alot and can not figure it out.(ps the other list boxes are other data but it needs to remove the same "line" as each other. they are all changed to the same selected index when 1 is changed)

VB.net 2008 express This is what I have so far, and it loads a list of files from a text file. Now I need to be able to delete them all from a certain drive and all sub folders in it. For instance I push the delete button and it goes through the entire list and deletes all the files in it from the designated drive and all it's sub folders.

I am making some kind of calendar where I can add tasks, so I can easily organise my tasks. For it to complete, I have 3 things I can't figure out how to do it:
1. When I launch the program, I want the items in my listbox to be sorted alphabeticly.
2. I want to save the items in the listbox, so if I close the program and reopen it the items are still saved in the listbox.
3. The items in the listbox all start with a date, fe. "13-4" for today. If that date already passed I want that item to be deleted.

So this class is being inherited by a (so far) empty child class and ProcessStage is being called. Notice that ConfirmFormDataIsValid() sub is private. If you run this it will not find this method. If I change it to protected however it works fine.

For some reason my tab pages won't update their data when I change the data contained in them. I have to scroll to the next Company and then scroll back for the changes to be reflected in that particular tab. I have no clue why this is as when I walk through my code in debugging, it shows that the appropriate labels are being set the appropriate values. But if I have one of the tabs as the one in focus when I change my company, it is updated correctly.
