I am doing project in vb.net using ms access I used listview to display data from table I want to display different context menu strip for different column I have done it using hard logic to get column number is as follows:

I've made a dataset using the dataset designer, and I'm trying to add a column to reflect changes made to the database (added a column, nothing fancy). Is there a way to 'refresh' the dataset schema from the datasource without deleting my adapter (and all the methods and queries I've created)?

I am currently developing an application that is linked to a MS SQL Server 2008 Database. So now I realised that I needed to make a few minor changes to the database (add new columns to some tables, change the data type of a few columsn in some tables). After making the changes, I realised that these changes have not been updated in my VB application's dataset. I then tried to "refresh" the dataset, but it still is not updating the dataset. What do I need to do to update the dataset to reflect the changes in the database?

I have program that have 1 label and 1 Listview and its contains 2 columns, I want when user click one of item in listview, the label text is item on column 2, for example: I have 2 Column, the column 1 contains 1 item, the text is "Water" and Column 2 Contains 1 Item is "Fire" I want user when click the Item, the label is item in Column 2, so label text is Fire.

I'm having difficulty trying to figure out why I can't seem to update the data I selected from the listview. I keep getting an error saying 'Invalid column name'. Can anyone help to fix this issue? I've tried for hours, but can't figure it out. [code] It doesn't seem to update for the others.

For some reason my tab pages won't update their data when I change the data contained in them. I have to scroll to the next Company and then scroll back for the changes to be reflected in that particular tab. I have no clue why this is as when I walk through my code in debugging, it shows that the appropriate labels are being set the appropriate values. But if I have one of the tabs as the one in focus when I change my company, it is updated correctly.

Is there a way to auto-update a listview based on reading a column?
Requirements:
1) The code must make a call to a user-created "Private Sub" to recalculate
2) Update must be automatic. .SelectedItem or clicking a row will not work
3) The formula function cannot be included in Form_Load
I've got everything working if the user selects a row, then clicks an "update" button using .SelectedItem. But with my current program containing 200 rows, it's not feasible. Simply put, how would I go about updating a listview column (0 in this case) based off a call to a formula, then updating the row?

I am using Visual Basic 2008.I Have a lilstview with items from an MS Access database loading in to it. I can update, insert and delete all from the database and the listview is updated accordingly. However, I cannnot for the life of me get it to remove a row from the database based on the selected index of the listview!!!I suppose I could use a DataGridView but then I would need to add a datasource wouldn't I?

I am trying to create a sign in program for my members. They come to the computer, input their birthday (already in the database), and up pops a Form with DataGrid that shows all the members with that birthday. Here is where im getting stuck. I want the user to select their name (row) from the DataGrid, click the button Sign In, and have the database be updated in the "Attendances" column to previous+1.
I first approached using the DataGrid1.SelectedRows.CopyTo method but had no luck. If someone could please help me to read which row the user selected, and then search the database for that persons name (which the row contains), and add 1 to a column in the database.

i am using a listview on my admin form to see those who are logged in. so i have a table which captures users logging in and logging out. this table data is reflected onto this listview. but i want the listview to refresh itself as soon as the user has logged out. this way the admin doesn't have to keep pressing refresh.so i want to know if there is way to refresh the listview on database update.

Now if any new entry is added or deleted from the database then unless we dont restart the application it will not reflect the changes. I have a database and I'm storing images in it along with a person's name, and other attributes. I've databound my listview with a stored procedure. I want to know how I can display an icon on a row depending on if the record for that row has a picture or not for the person...I'm not sure how to accomplish this however with the templates in asp.net
