i am working on a project! the problem i am having is that i have two combo box first combo box takes stuff form the file and then add it to listfile it also removes that selected file from the combo box.suppose i have four carid in my combo box...when i select one car and then send it to dispatch it removes form tht combo box and add it to the lst file... this much i can do. is i need that carid that removes from the combo box should add in another combo box ... but i cant able to do it

I have finally got my code all working, but there is just a quick query really. At the moment I have all the database stuff in each form seperatly. When I place it in a global module, it looks like the dataset is being duplicated I was wondering why this happens when I place it in a global module?

In VB 2008, I have a Parent form with a combo box on it. There is a child form also with a combo box on it. I want to be able to change the values on the child form based on what the user selected from the main form. The user launches the child form from a toolbar on the Parent form. The following code is run:

What I want to do is if the Parent's combo box has "Red", "Blue", "Green" values and the user selects "Green", the child form's combo box(With the same values) will also change to "Green". (I do not need to change the Parent form if the child form changes.) I've tried changing the Child's combobox from the combobox's change event on the Parent form, and the code runs, but nothing changes on the child form.

but it's strange. I have a few combo boxes on a form that are fed via select query. They each are populated by their own table. Each of the tables feeding them have a codeassociated with a name, function etc... the code is what is stored in the form's table. I have another select query that converts the code to the name or whatever so that the user does not see the code, but the name associated with it when the form loads.What is happening is: The form loads and if i don't touch any of these combo boxes every thing is fine if i update them, I can't tab off the combo box or move the cursor anywhere, or even close the form. I have one of these boxes with the same code and it works fine.. I don't understand what is going on... I have an after update function that is the same on all of them and it is indeed updating correctly....

I have a form that among other things displays a list of customer names in a combo box. Should the person that launched that form not see the customer in that combo box they can launch another form that will allow them to add the missing customer. The 2nd form adds the customer name to the customer table and the customer information to the customer information table - the 2 tables are related by the CustomerID.I have no problem saving the record to each table but in the process of saving the customer name to the customer table, I would like to refresh the combo box on the 1st form so the newly added customer is displayed in the combo box it was previously not found in.Each time the new customer is added I would like to update the combobox with the new customers name so the user of that form can use it to complete the task it was designed for. I have tried "frm.combobox.refresh", "My. frm. combobox.refresh", changing focus to the first form - none of which worked.

I have created a main form in my program to which I have added a combo box containing 12 months of the year. What I want is when the selected month is changed it should call a subroutine which does a calculation. The procedure works but the combo box acts as if the selected item has been changed as the form is opening which is not what I want as at that time there is no data loaded for the procedure to do it's calculation. So what I want to know is, is there some way to prevent the combo box from behaving this way at start up?

I have a combo box and a property grid in a form. The combo box contains 2 items. If one item is selected, two properties are listed in the property grid. These properties should have a dropdown that contains a list of items. I have two string arrays that contain the values for these properties. Can I use one TypeConverter that inherits StringConverter for these lists to be displayed in two different properties? That is, with one TypeConverter class, can I populate both the lists? I will also have to do the same with the other items in the combo box.

I have a form that displays a graph. From the appropriate toobar button click frmGraph.show is called and it works. But when I call it from the assigned F6 function key the graph hardly ever displays. Sometimes it does display properly, sometime it flickers a one time display of the graph then it's gone, but mostly the form just draws the background but no graph. In debugging this i discoverd that putting a message box just before the call to frmGraph.show the graph will display properly everytime after i click ok in the messagebox. Anyone know how to cure this or at least a workaround that doesn't involve displaying the messagebox? This is the code with the messagebox("here") just above the call.

I have a Main form (a window form) in VB.NET which has a Combo Box to display a list of countries. A sub form activated from a "Button" on the Main form allows users to add Countries to their list. But After Adding a new entry the Combo Box on the Main form does not show the update (while it is still open). I have to exit the main form and relaunch it to see the update.
The populate function in shown below. I call this method after adding new countries but still; not good. I have used Invalidate function of combo box but of no use as well.

Our chapter is all on printing, but the teachers example sends the data to a new form, into a listbox. How do I take the contents of a ComboBox from one form and input it into the ListBox on another form, first adding the line "High School List".
I have this much, but then don't know how to read fromt he ComboBox. Not what is highlighted, but the full contents.

I am wanting to change my startup form for my application in Visual Studio for VB.Net. I double clicked "My Project" in the Solution Explorer and then clicked on the Application tab. For some reason I only see 12 forms out of the 6 forms I have in my project when the "Enable Application Framework" check box is True. When the check box is False I see all my forms, why?

I'm building a form with just a combo box in it that contains a list of other forms that I made. I want to program the combo box so that if a user opens it and clicks on "Web Browser", that form with the combo box will close and the web browser that I made will open. Another example is that if a user selects "Media Player" from that combo box, the form with the combo box will close and the media player that I made will open. How would I program the combo box to do this?

am developing a basic "stock tracking system" in VB.Net with an Access Database for my final year project, and I am in need of help with some issues that I am still facing.System:The user basically selects a customer, selects the product, batch number, quantity, and date that the customer has chosen, and gives a summary of the transaction.I am then generating a summary report via the report wizard tool to show stock levels, and info on which customers bought what product.My Database contains 3 tables: Customer, Product, TransactionI can currently write to both the customer and product tables, bit i havnt figured out how to save a transaction record yet?, also, I am saving to the product table from a "Deliveries Form" that I have for entering incoming products. But I have not yet figureed out how to subtract the quantity values in the product table from the "Purchasing Form"? This is a major issue)en the user selects a customer from the dropdown box, that customers details is displayed in a label on the next form for the users benefit. This works when I hard-code the customer ID to be 2 for example, but it doesnt seem to recognise the "gCustomerID" (I have gCustomerID declared Global Variables module file)I think that this is the problem?

i am developing a simple vb.net application. i have three forms in my app. the first form has 2 radio buttons from which i need to select one. based on the selection made in my next form a combobox ll be populated.so far so good.there is a back button on my 2nd form which when clicked redirects me to the first form. here when i select the next radio button the combo box in the next form does not populate accordingly. it still holds the old values. \[code]

I have a couple of combo boxes, one that I have hand coded the query to load and another that uses the databinding feature. My problem is (well one of them!) that when the form loads, it displays the data stored in the table (ValueMember) and not the display member, the display members are shown in drop down once selected. Basically, I have a table that feeds the combo box with two columns both strings "Code" and "Reason" I want to display the reason when the form loads, not the code...

i wanted to link options selected from Comb box A (general) to specific options in combo box B (specific). I want to pick a word in Combo box A that has specific words/phrases in Combo Box B show. But not all the words to show in the combo box B if they aren't associated with the Word picked in Combo Box A. How to use a databound combo box to display one field in the drop down, and another as the combo box text on roll up? Using VS 2005... For example, I have a datatable that has 2 fields. One called "ShortDesc" and one called "LongDesc". I want to be able to see the "LongDesc" column values in the drop down on the combo box. I have a combo box on a form. I have a SelectedIndexChanged event, that displays a message box when the combo box has another item from it selected. This works fine. However when the form is loaded, I initially want to set the current drop down box item from the database, then AFTER I have set the current value, I want this event to work. Problem is from the get go when the form loads it asks me the question as its being changed from 'no data' to then be populated with a bunch of data and an item selected.
