I want to add the time that my app was compiled at into a label in my app. For example if you went to the about dialog on my app it would say 'Compiled 07/06/2009 20:05', any ideas on how to do this? Im using VS2008 and Visual Basic.

I am looking for the best way to do this and from searching I think that injecting a DLL is the best route. I am 'simply' wanting to create a button or link label on a window from a compiled .exe I do not have source code to that will launch another program.
View 14 RepliesI've a requirement to have PreCompiled webpages and Non-PreCompiled webpages under same application. For example below is my structure:
/Bin
/Test1 (PreCompiled)
/Test2 (NonPreCompiled)
/Test3 (PreCompiled)
I would like these to have their separate "Bin" folders too if possible at all (I tried using "Probing" but I guess that's not allowed for web apps and defaults to "Bin" folder). If not that then definitely some ability for these to work together under one app/virtual directory because I'm not allowed to create another at any cost :(
I am trying to make a label that changes every second for an event. What I currently have makes the thread sleep all the way through from "Rock" to "Shoot" and skips the "Paper" and "Scissors". Everywhere I look they keep saying to use the format() function but maybe I am missing something.
so i am busy with a mediaplayer ( just for fun ) and everything pretty much works, but one thing doesn't.the thing is ive got 2 labels, the first label needs to show how much ive already played, and the second label needs to show the duration of the media file.example: a media file from 1 hour 32 minutes and 18 second and i have already player 43 minutes and 9 seconds from it, then the first label needs to show 00:43:09 and the second label 01:32:18.

This updates every second a bit like a simple stop watch. Great so far, because I do need the elapsed time (in seconds) for later use in my app. However, whilst elapsed time is being displayed in this label on the screen I want it to be shown in HH:MM:SS format. How can I convert it into a new variable " ElapsedTime2 " so that I can show it in the desired format yet still retain my original " ElapsedTime " variable for later.
I'm trying to create a label that displays sensor output readings. These are small labels inside a picturebox that has a real time graph of the sensors. I'm trying to make the labels transparent or semi-transparent in order to see the entire graph. Setting the labels background color property to transparent only gives the labels the same color property of the picturebox not the actual images of the picture box. I have set the label.parent = picturebox1.

I have a label called lblMessage. The data of the message is saved in a SQL Server 2005 DB. In my table i have a message ID and then 4 rows with my message ID.
